Size-wise, yes.

Image

Size-wise, no, unless you have that mini Transmetal Primal in the picture. It's like a 4" figure that can transform from bot to beast with a little parts forming. I got one off BBTS probably around 2001 for cheap.

-Kanrabat- wrote:Star Saber sold so poorly that Victory Leo was never made?

It was never planned to be made in the first place. At the time Star Saber was a one off that Takara Tomy didn't intend to make in the first place. It only got made because it won that MP Autobot leader poll. I don't think it sold poorly, it was actually pretty good deal for the size, but I think TT over produced it based on the poll and stores overstocked it for the same reason leading to over saturation of a character that was really only well known in Japan. If they had done a world wide poll the results would have been entirely different. I imagine we'd have Armada Optimus or Powermaster Optimus instead.

1. Star Saber - 31,2% votes
2. Micron Densetsu Convoy - 24.3% votes
3. Super Ginrai - 18.6% votes
4. Dai Atlas - 8 % votes
5. Super Fire Convoy - 4.9% votes
6. Beast Wars Primal - 4.6% votes
7. Galaxy Convoy - 2.5% votes
8. Big Convoy - 2.1% votes
9. Lio Convoy - 2.0% votes
10. Grand Convoy - 1.5% votes
11. Fortress Maximus - 0.3% votes

Star Saber doesn't have any easy ways to attach Victory Leo built into it. Not sure how "Simba" does it can't be that sturdy.

Sad but true. Though suprised that the 3p never stepped up to the plate in that case.

That's very surprising to hear since the week it was released it was like the 3rd best selling figure in Japan work some stores selling out.

Is there anywhere online that keeps track of things like that?I would make a lot easier to say what is popular.

Quite funny looking at that poll and seeing that two of the three beast wars convoys getting Masterpiece figures.
Though there would have been no scale for Fortress to have fit in :lol:I unless it was just the Fortress component :-?

MP citybots would have to be their own scale, I think, with tiny versions of the figures to interact with them.

I would welcome the compromise of scaled-down MP citybots, as well as Omega Supreme, perhaps a head or 2 taller than MP-01, and I could consider them to be their comic versions. Well, Scorpy and Max anyway. Metroplex never made it to the comics, and the 1 issue Trypticon was in he was almost the size of the Ark, even if he wasn't city-sized.

In the UK, he did, in which he was city-sized (the only one of the four to be that big in the comics).

The UK comics also brought Trypticon back for a second outing, but kept his large-but-not-enormous size from his U.S. comic appearance.

Hopefully not. But Cassettes and Targetmasters were in the original cartoon (I'm not sure when Micromasters appeared in a series on TV) as well as being associated with larger and more prominent characters, whereas Micromasters were just on their own as far as I know. Maybe they could be sold as a set, like the cassettes were?

I would like to see the Race Car Patrol (or at least Roadhandler, he was the most prominent) and the Sports Car Patrol (or at least Blackjack or Hyperdrive) and the Air Strike Patrol, they were cool.

Also, I know MP-44 just came out, so it'll be a few years before we get another Prime, but I hope the next one will be a shot at Super Ginrai (with or without Godbomber).

Unlike Optimus Prime, Ginrai basically looks and transformers exactly like his figure so there wouldn't be any need for a ridiculously complex transformation like MP-44 (though they'd probably still try). Super Ginrai on the other hand...

MP-39+ Spinout - I was hoping they would do him. Being the first car to robot action figure. Nice he uses Sideswipe's preliminary name.

A few things to note:

- He uses the toy-accurate head, previously seen on Cordon
- He also uses Cordon's detailed shins instead of Sunstreaker's smooth ones.
- Finally, he has Cordon's chrome missile
- His license plate reads "CR-01", referencing his Diaclone Car Robot pedigree. Cordon's read "CR-03"

... So why isn't he MP-42+?
