It was always strange to me that several animal forms never made it into Beast Wars. Airazor is the only [non-Fuzor] bird bot, for example. You would have thought something like a Hippo would have been a no-brainer minor retool of Rhinox. As well as a few others that didn't show up until later lines, like the other Dinosaur types.

At least we eventually got them, so I am happy. I think the only main dino type we didnt get was a land based long necked dino.

That was my first thought. You would have thought all of the Dinobots iconic forms would have gotten Beast Wars representation.
T-Rex - Megatron
Pteranodon - Terrorsaur
Triceratops - Guiledart
Elasmosaurus - Magmatron
Stegosaurus - Striker*
Even Paddles got some recognition, yet no Brontosaurus???
*EDIT: Yep, look who I forgot? Just like The Movie

Happy either way. Rhinox is my favourite Maximal.
When it comes to Tarantulas and Tigatron I am curious how far they will go with show accurate Beast Modes. Ordinarily the two spiders would be minor retools, but proportionally they are very different. Especially as Tarantulas should be bigger in both modes regardless. Tigatron should share some engineering from Cheetor, at least on a cosmetic level, in Bot Mode. Whereas the build of a Tiger is bulkier than a Cheetah, so it will be interesting to see how they hide that extra mass and leave them looking superficially similar in Bot Mode.
Back on topic, how long until we see this guy? The Megatron mold is too expensive for them to only use once after all....
I have this guy and love him. He almost looks like an Optimus Prime version of Megatron.

He's good. He is very good. Possibly the easiest Masterpiece I have transformed, of the six I own. Happy/relieved to report No breakages, no stress marks or loose joints.
Now he is in Bot Mode, I am never transforming him again.
Why? Because of a particular joint, the torso joint, that almost gave a heart attack. When you transform him, you'll know why. The arm and leg transformations I worked out myself. The Backpack was a little fiddly and the instructions aren't overly clear, but I did manage it in the end, using a bit of commonsense.
It is quite amazing how after the really iffy initial panels you have to separate in the Beast Mode, how straight forward he is. Almost as if, after the panel-wizardry of Dinobot, his simplicity seems detrimental somehow?
He is stunning, I can't stop looking at him beside me as I type. Yet has he knocked MP Optimus Primal off my top spot? No, is the answer.
Simply put, I can't choose between them. In my eyes, in terms of what they represent, they are as good as it gets.
I will concur with what has been said elsewhere though. The Beast Mode panels, specifically those that end up forming the backpack, definitely feel like a complete different and lesser plastic. Caution is advised, although someone as heavy handed as me had no issues, your mileage may vary. 9.5/10

This guy is such a good centerpiece. I legit want to start collecting Beast Wars again. I can't wait for the rest of the S1 cast if they end up doing them all.

Just an fyi on transformation for those who haven't done in yet.
You'll want the piece that your insert into Megatron's torso to be bent all the way such as this;

So that everything is flush

Took 30 minutes of sweating to figure it out .

It's scheduled to arrive Monday which is probably about when it would have arrived before.

I've had similar difficulties, but with Amazon Japan. My Paypal Mastercard and Chase Visa cards keep locking up due to fraudulent activity because of Amazon Japan's desire to "test" a credit card with various dollar amounts prior to initiating the primary charge. Paypal and Chase think it's fishy, but I don't find that out until calling them because Amazon Japan just says "unable to process at this time" or something comparable. It's a great way to go, when it works, but I'm getting tired of having to call my card companies every time Amazon Japan triggers the bank fraud systems. Not sure why Paypal and Chase won't just scrub Amazon Japan clean on my cards.
Long story short, I should have MP-43 Megatron tomorrow. Yesssss!

I’ve had some stress marks on pins. I can take sone pics if you’d like.
On a side note- really wish they explained how the waist/chest slides/collapses..... that part gave me a damn heart attack. And I even took him apart to try and figure the mechanism out... it’s well hidden.
That said.... I have no idea how ppl are breaking his crotch, unless it’s a one-off point of failure.
They t-Rex she’ll in general is s little scary, it *feels* like you could just fold some of those panels in half to the snapping point, but any cautious collector shouldn’t have an issue with him.

Also anyone else a little miffed he didn’t come with a stand.... sure the instructions seem to mention “as sold separately”. But I feel there was enough promo shots of him with it.... they chickened out.
Why else would the stands be connectable if they only make one....

I could use some assistance. I created an amazon.co.jp account but they won't accept my credit card. The first time I attempted to purchase MP BW Megs, my credit card company flagged it as fraud. I called them and spoke to the fraud department and they said that they would remove the flag and I could re-place the order. I ordered again, and got another "Credit Card Not Approved Email" from amazon japan.
I found a reddit post from a few years ago, and the person suggested buying a amazon japan gift card and swap the payment method for that. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Btw, I guess I've been a bit of a lurker on these forum for several years and would like to be more involved on here. I just recently started re-watching Beast Wars and am really enjoying the show as a "real" adult now.
Cheers!

The stress marks are a common issue near the pins. My copy had them and they are in the same spot as we see in the initial article we posted and I mention them in the site's review of the figure:
I did see stress marks around the pins though, but I do not think they will get worse if I pay attention.
Here is another pic of those stress marks:
As for the broken crotch, there has been another report since then but the piece was found like that even before the customer transformed the figure. So it was broken (at the exact same spot) right out of the package:
And here is another broken crotch:
So both areas mentioned in the initial article proved to not be isolated cases and gave us an indication of areas that may be more fragile. The fact that everyone knew of these and transformed this toy so delicately that some don't want to transform it back may be why we haven't seen more breakage reported.

I dont feel miffed because Takara was pretty clear on showing us the list of accessories in pics like this:

Also, Megs is an extremely stable bot in both modes, dont really need a stand. And I am happy since it means the price tag is not as high as it would have been.
(also I have a terribly broken dinobot figure and when they sent me a replacement, they let me keep my headless dinobot, so I have an extra stand. But I still dont use it).

Absolutely! That's the part I was referring to also. I kept wondering why the legs and torso were not in-line and nothing in the instructions makes it clear exactly what you are supposed to do. When it eventually "unlocked", I thought I had just ripped the thing in half

I still think Primal might be my favorite.... but Megs is damned close. I do find it interesting that for the most part the old ultra toys are nearly the same figures. Wish I had an original Megatron. Something about it bugged me back in the day.... maybe it was the gimmicks?
