They thought nothing because Hasbro did not make these sets. They are licensed only. Micro Machines already has their own pre existing connector system, so they kept it.

Exactly. In this case, both the Micro Machines and Transformers brands are licensed to Jazwares who actually produce these toys.

Exactly. In this case, both the Micro Machines and Transformers brands are licensed to Jazwares who actually produce these toys.
Perfect opportunity for someone to make some connector accessories to make these compatible with TF connectors.
