I saw on the survey that the majority of people are going for the 2 Disk Special Edition... I dont see why. I know I dont personally watch "behind the scenes stuff, PLUS I feel better spending $20 and get the "prequel" so in 5-6 months when they come out with the "Unedited" edition like the IMAX or better ( the Circuit City edition comes with a card with 15 minutes of bonus footage) I wont feel bad plopping down another $20-25. That edition will have the unedited movie plus all the behind the scenes stuff, hell, maybe TF2 sneak peak?!?!

Bottomline...The Begging rocked!

Ummmm...ooops, The BEGINING rocked...I hate typos.

I went for the Best Buy 2 disc with the exclusive Robot Heroes and also brought the metallic repaints of Megatron and Ratchet.

Can someone post some pics of the Target transforming case? I'm curious to see what that looks like.

Is the Wal-Mart "Beginnings" DVD taken from the IDW comics, the online comics seen at target.com, or is it something new entirely?

I got the transforming case, but I'll pick up the WM version too and give the regular DVD to someone depending on what's in the Beginnings DVD.

Thanks!

The Beginnings DVD is a lot better than I expected! The voice acting is excellent, and features voices from the movie cast, as well as Cullen and WELKER!!!

Prequel Starscream's voice RULES! Especially the line, "Not on your BEST day."

And they actually got musicians to record Bumblebee's songs... musicians who sound remarkably like the ones whose songs the comic "uses" (Sheryl Crow's "Every Day is a Winding Road," Chumbawamba's "Tubthumper," etc.) WELL DONE!!!

For those keeping tallies, I got the Wal-Mart edition and the steel case from FYE. Selling the single-disc to a non-fan coworker.

I pre-ordered at FYE! : )

And I believe so? x3 Since it's out now. But pre-ordering basically just means it's gauranteed to be there for you. If you didn't pre-order you'll just have to try your luck on finding it there.

A quick question, do any or all of these versions include Deleted or Extra scenes? I haven't noticed any descriptions stating that there are and I don't know if this is because there weren't any, that they weren't included in any, or that it is such a given as to not be worth mentioning. This has always been a defining characteristic of DVDs I buy, so I'm curious which would have them.

The Canadian Best Buy set has a book (English only). However, the "mystery" figure is nothing more than a regular release 3" Titanium. What's appalling is that, unlike the cool U.S. release, you don't even see which one you get and it's $6 more in Canada than in the U.S. when the Canada and U.S. dollar are par.

AutobotBase mentioned an mp3 player from Blockbuster. Just called my local Blockbuster (OH) for details. Its a 2" triangular 128mb mp3 player free with either single or double editons ($26). Mp3 player sounded like it has the autobot logo on it.

My local Best Buy said they only had 4 F'ing figures! 2 Megatrons and 2 Rathets.... I guess they are taking "exclusive" to the next level  They said they have about 600 at their warehouse but only got 4 for today, and will be putting out more later....the hunt is on.

So I just finished my DVD runs. When it was all said and done I came out with:

Wal-Mart 2 pack
Target Transforming DVD
Suncoast Decepticon 2 disc tin
Suncoast Autobot 2 disc tin
Transformers HDDVD with Best Buy Megatron Lithograph

Got it on Netflix today. Decided to watch it first before making a decision.

The clarity is stunning, so many more details that the big screen just wasn't capable of showing. You really do miss a lot the first time around.

I've watched the special features disc and while it's neat, it's not a must have. So I will be buying the single disc version.

I mean once you've seen the special features...pretty much all you have left is the movie.

Best Buy also has exclusive Voyager class Ratchet and Megatron available for straight up purchase at the store.

There is really no difference in the original live action Ratchet that was released earlier. Voyager Megatron at Best Buy however does not have the translucent plastic/ice on him that the standard Voyager Megs had when originally released.

Word.
