By the time the movie's 50th anniversary rolls around, do you think we'll have a new figure that perfectly replicates the CGI...including the transformation?

Got me dwelling on whether I'll be around in 2057 or not. And if I am, will I still be buying Transformer figures? :O

And does Transfomrers have the potential to be a brand that exists for 75 years or so? And still making toys? The only other brand I can think of that never stopped is Barbie but thats only 58 years old.

Hot Wheels will be turning 50 next year, and Radio Flyer (if you consider what they make, toys) is 100 years old and still going.

Beyond that yeah who knows whether Hasbro will still be making toys 40 or 50 years from now.

Yes they'll still be around and toy technology will advanced so much that they could reproduce any of the movie designs 100% accurately as a toy being able to transform in all the various ways they do in the movies and that fluid too. And all controlled by your mind! :O


Are Bee and Prime the first proper movie Masterpiece figures? I mean the previous ones were just redecoes of existing figures, right? I'm just very tempted by these but am put off by the quality control issues the G1 Masterpiece figures tend to have, most recently on the new Megatron.

Because its celebrating 10 years of Movies. It's not an actual TLK release, but a 10 Year anniversary thing. So it goes for the original iconic look of the character, not its most current one.

It's like MP-01 and 10 celebrating Prime's iconic G1 look, and not its then current look.

Me Today: Ehh, this Prime looks, so right. Surpasses others. Absolutely incredible.

I did too, but I dont feel bad. He looks amazing, has a better face, better articulation, has a more accurate colour scheme in truck mode (especially the gold/yellow that blends with the red), and has the accurate paint detailing on the arms with the flames, along with more weapons. He also sports his DOTM body, so its not the same look as this toy. They can still coexist independently with this being the best first Movie Prime and MB 11 being the best DOTM Prime.

Looks surprisingly good, certainly improvements over the ROTF Leader mold. But since I already have that figure and have all but given up collecting Movie TFs, I'll be skipping this one.

one of better looking prime figures from movie this will be one to buy where is the matrix read about in chest?, to big to fit in his chest something to put off side?


people may as well not post any news about new figures that have pictures people always notice first instead of toy itself is not transformed properly they are toys not work of art not transformed correctly who cares its not the end of world as we know it if few pieces are clipped in properly for every transformer figure thats not transformed properly does soemone die no move on look at bigger picture toy itself sound like non paid movie critic but with toys.

This could very well be my start in collections Masterpiece toys. I'm not a huge fan of the half smooth and half broken up with joints look of the regular G1 ones, and I'm also not a fan of the robot parts showing in the alt modes of the Beast Wars MPs. This? This is glorious. The complexity of Masterpiece transformations mixed with the aesthetic of the movie designs, AND with die cast thrown in for a loving move? This is so awesome. I so hope Barricade is coming, because him and Bee would be so cool to get. This Optimus though? It's...

Also, I see Will said Prime is gonna be priced at 100 USD (I think), and that is incredible. Especially considering the size, die-cast, and the vehicle license. Thanks HasTak. You guys are awesome.

At this point the only thing that could disappoint me is if he's actually tiny. If he ends up being shorter than MP-10 that might be a deal breaker. So yeah, for now I'm in, just waiting on some size comparisons and Japanese prices.

Bumblebee is about voyager size, so that means if they are in scale, Prime is at least modern leader size, which isn't bad. And considering that he's cheaper than MP Soundwave at 100 USD vs about 130, and the rereleases of MP-10 are about 200$, if he's a leader sized figure it isn't too bad, and it actually pretty dang good all things considered. Especially since these are meant to be in scale, and Bee is about half Prime's size in the movies.

I hope however that he's more along the lines of MP Ironhide in size at least.

Is there a specific resource you have pulled the price of Prime as confirmed from? Was it said at the event he was shown at?

The way this Prime manages kibble- with the exception of the "flame panels" on the arms- is just stunning! Really, the only thing that's keeping me from diving on board here is the barrel chest and yeah, those arm panels.
