Based on purely circumstantial evidence, they're making plenty of money without doing this.gothsaurus wrote:Not sure why they don't do an SDCC comic, or something to go in the box sets we saw (Velocitron, etc.) The characterization and story are what makes you attached to a character... and want to complete some story lineup. It's a great sales motivator for me, and I'm sure a lot of other fans.

I quite agree with you, just to be clearIt's really tough to get super hyped for the future when it looks like endless variations of G1. Transformers has always remained compelling by not overstaying its welcome in one state or another, but PotP is dangerously close to just being CW + TR without bringing anything actually new to the table.

Grimlock -> Scorn
Slag -> Grimstone
Sludge -> Paddles
Snarl -> Slapper
Swoop/another remold of the others -> Skar

I forgot about IDW Strafe, it be cool to have a remold of Sinnertwin as her with the dinobots color.

I forgot about her too. Swap her in as the last deluxe and put Skar in as a Slash retool
gothsaurus wrote:Thanks for the info on these other dinobots, Stealth Claw. They slipped under my radar, though I do remember — and would also add — the PowerCore addition Grimstone. He would be a good Slag minor retool that could round out an alternate matching limb, too.
I'd love some running-changes like this from Hasbro. Would be great to see some deep-dives into obscure lore like we saw from the club and Botcon. That's actually one of the top things I miss. Hoping they can find a consistent outlet for some store or box set exclusives that really fill that missing niche... not to mention some place for the fiction we have lost now.

But I digress... solid wave. Hope we get some repaints and retools of these guys.

The movie character is higher profile.
But, hey, I don't think it will be a straight IDW lift if they do it. Maybe red, silver, and gold.
The big thing I see is that the movie character is winged.
Wouldn't be at all surprised to see new Dinobots later in this line or red Swoop when they get to the waves where they reuse figures. Or maybe they'll do a CW style boxed set with, say, alternate Slug, Swoop, and Grimlock decos and a could of alternate Dinobots. G2 Dinobots boxed set with Sludge swapped out for Strafe?
