Good person, you said EFFING!!! YESSS!!!!!! I believe you meant to say EFFING!!! NOOOO!!!!!! This must be the case for I am displeased with this turn of events, and I shall brook no disagreement on the matter.
This is where Reprolabel saves lives.

He is as far as Hasbro marketing department is concerned. Every Unicron toy for the past 12 years has been sold as a Decepticon toy by Hasbro.Lore Keeper wrote:Unicron is not affiliated with the Decepticons.

I'm a Beast Wars kid and, for me, that was because I never knew about Autobots and Decepticons beforehand. To me, the Maximals and Predacons were the good guys and bad guys, period, no further questions asked.Lore Keeper wrote:Sabrblade wrote:He is as far as Hasbro marketing department is concerned. This is true. I still find it to be a very uninspired approach. There's nothing wrong with throwing a little more variety in the mix. I don't remember any kids my age being like, "Maximals? Predacons? What's going on? My litle brain can't handle all these factions!!!"

Ya know, I have no idea. They're not used for any of his forms. Though, the pegs on his legs fit perfectly into the unused slots on his forearms and the pegs on his wings fit several slots found o the figure. Perhaps they are the remnants of some abandoned design ideas?

Who knows? And they're unique to Starscream since his retool switches the wings out.
And why is Elita-1 a jet? Slight wink and nudge to Leader-1 of the Gobots?
Then we'd have repaint wars again. I'd prefer Obsidian and Strika (from Elita's IDW team). That'd be awesomeLore Keeper wrote:Hellscream9999 wrote:Moonracer looks great, can't wait to get the new fembots, especially if Elita really is using the fixed starscream mold
I do really hope they give us two more fembots to complete a combiner made up of Elita's cartoon team. There's still Greenlight and Lancer to touch on. Chromia is a candidate too, but because she already has a generations toy, it should be one of the other two.
So you prefer the Dinobot toys having dull yellow heads and other parts over a great looking multi-layered look with techy details and a sparkling golden color? I thoughtHellscream9999 wrote:B/c they'd be crappy under-colored figures, one of the reasons the newer mp's aren't receiving the mass love they used to, the show colors are lazy at best, monochromatic at worst, I never buy the figure with the more subdued color scheme, and, judging from comments going back a ways, a lot of people feel that way too.Rated X wrote:Blame it on stupid toy accurate decos. And the stickers are now replaced by tempographs, at least at 80 % of the Dinobots. So that's not a problem.Rated X wrote:All those toy accurate decos homage the worst of gang molding choices, lack of paint apps, and ugly stickers.

To me, it's more of a matter of principle. The toy is designed specifically as Rodimus under the influence of Unicron. This doesn't make him a Decepticon; Unicron is not affiliated with the Decepticons. This just seems to come down to Hasbro's reluctance to stray from the Autobot: good, Decepticon: bad structure. They appear to believe children just won't understand any variation to the formula, and I believe they're not giving kids enough credit. My son is eight (cliche I know) and when he sees a, he goes, "Woah! An evil Autobot!" He gets it. I think most kids would get it.

Thing is, I've never told him about SG. He just picked up on the visual cues. Purple with evil red eyes is like guaranteed to be a bad guy in Transformers.

Rated X wrote:Lore Keeper wrote:Unicron is not affiliated with the Decepticons.
How is Unicron NOT affiliated with the Decepticons?
Lets see...
*He summoned Megatron and made him a deal he couldnt refuse and Galvatron was born.
*He conspired with Starscream's ghost to try and make Cybertron his new body.
*He interacted with Megatron/Galvatron in major story points in the Armada/Energon series.
*He possessed Megatron in the TF Prime series.
How much more interaction with the Decepticons does Unicron have to have to be "affiliated" ?
At the end of the day the fandom is divided on Shattered Glass. Half of the Botcon/TFCC fans loved it, the other half thought it was really dumb. Hasbro liked the character, but decided to go with the more trusted method of bringing him in the fiction, rather than swim in risky waters.
He meant faction-wise, as in Unicron himself is not a Decepticon.Rated X wrote:Lore Keeper wrote:Unicron is not affiliated with the Decepticons.
