Caelus wrote:My wife pointed out something interesting about the prehistoric Predacons. I said that everyone was complaining because transforming for them mostly consisted of them just standing up-right. She essentially said, 'So? That's what our ancestors did.'

Oh man that sucks. Personally this is the most anticipated figure for me in some time. Can't wait until tonight!

But we were able to order them of the main Amazon site. Just received an update e-mail that my Blast-off will ship soon. Expected to arrive August 8-14.

My guess is the TLK toyline also suffered. And I hear the comics aren't doing fantastic, revenue-wise (though I bet better than most comics these days).
From what I'm aware, Transformers has done very well in the past year, with the exception of the Last Knight movie. Even the toys sold well, but that's because it was a very scaled back toy line.
I've heard similar things about the comics, but Transformers comics have never been big sellers, not since 2002's Dreamwave Transformers #1.mordhelm wrote:Unfortunately these things happen when corporations do something drastic to "right the ship".
To the bean counters, what characters sell? The original Autobots and some of the Decepticons.
This is really just the fallout of a tough year for Transformers.
War for Cybertron was in the works long before the failures of last year. In the absence of a working crystal ball, these decisions were all under way long before 2017 happened.mordhelm wrote:I am with you though, quite disappointed about several missing characters from G1. However, I think they are coming. Warden seems interesting in completing the G1 line. So I think Pretender Monsters, Seacons, Horrorcons, Targetmasters, are all coming. Heck, they may special release the remaining Pretender shells at some point too.
There are different ways to bring out the "missing characters" without doing it in the way in which we think it should be done. Who knows where and when other characters will show up. Hasbro knows what they're doing. I have great faith in their plans, though I have waited very patiently for the 84 and 85 characters to finally get finished up like Cliffjumper, a proper Huffer, the Deluxe Insecticons, Astrotain done right, Reflector, Hoist and Trailbreaker done right, and so on. Hopefully we'll get those gaps filled in soon!mordhelm wrote:Let's all not forget that there is one more show (NYCC) this year. I believe NYCC was when Grotusque was revealed and put up for sale. I think we have one more surprise coming for NYCC.
Not to mention other shows around the world which may give Hasbro other opportunities to unveil other new products. They haven't really done that in the past but considering the onslaught of new products unveiled at SDCC last week, I have great hopes that there is more just waiting right around the corner.

I wouldn't take it personally, after all nobody is perfect. I've seen many things come up as "news" after I initially posted about them, or IMHO "it wasn't news", its often subjective. Sometimes I purposely submit news, and sometimes it gets reported, and sometimes it does not. Sometimes I post in the forums, things I think are no big deal, and they actually end up as news...go figure. The point is, the folks here all seem to be pretty decent, and care about what they are doing. I know I fly off the handle sometimes, I'm not perfect either, but my anger usually goes towards the toy industry, lackluster animation , or comics, NOT the fans themselves. Just keep on truckin', and enjoy your Blastoff that you got before several others.

Oh, I'm not angry or anything, and I apologize if it came off that way. I just wanted to make sure my voice was heard. I appreciate your response though, you sir are a gentleman and a scholar.
Back on-topic, assuming discussion of Blast Off goes here and not on the CW thread, I love this figure. Am I probably biased, since the Combaticons are my favorite combiner team since playing FoC? Yeah, I probably am. But in spite of that, this is easily one of my favorite combiner-compatible Deluxes I own. He's fun to pose, I'm still surprised by how good his colors look, specifically how glossy this black is, I love how his gun forms his landing gear, and his limb mode is nice and solid. I'm so glad Hasbro actually brought this mold over, and that I got one before it sold out over the course of an hour.
*still regrets taking a break from buying TF's during Combiner Wars*

Repugnus is some kind of arthropod creature (insect, crustation, etc.), so that block is his abdomen. His "bug booty" if you will. It's anatomically accurate to his beast mode.
