As Australian fans continue waiting for any figures from the new Power of the Primes line to arrive at major retailers (they've been marginally available at smaller specialty shops for a few weeks now), some appetite-whetting is in order courtesy for
Ozformers' Facebook page - scanning photographed barcodes of Wave 1 Power of the Primes figures at price-check stations has revealed most major stores' pricing for these hotly-anticipated figures! While Big W and possibly Myer still appear to lack any entries in their system, prices were obtained for other major Australian 'big-box' retailers (Kmart, Target, and Toys R Us).
On average, the toys are priced as follows by major retailers, by size-class and rounded to the whole dollar:
- Prime Masters: $9-10
- Legends: $19-20
- Deluxe: $29-35
- Voyager: $49-50
- Leader: $90
The only marked divergence from recent Generations prices based on this information lies in the Deluxe class, mirroring the recent price-increase seen with the Last Knight toyline: most stores appear to be pricing Power of the Primes Deluxes around $30 (as opposed to Titans Return's $25), while Target and Toys R Us further increase that number by an extra $5.
For the full by-store breakdown and explanation of exactly how these prices were obtained, check out
the post on Ozformers' Facebook page! And while you wait for the first major Australian retail sightings to materalise (you can be sure we'll report on them as soon as they do!), why not talk about the tantalising toys in the Energon Pub Forum? Discussing is the next-best thing to owning, after all.
