Episode 23 -
ZOMG! ZOMG! It's starting with the season 2 promo trailer prophecy narration!!! Maybe now we'll finally find out what it all means!
Ratchet's mention of how Optimus was "different"before he was made a Prime is an understatement. Optimus, as Orion Pax, was a young dreamer with aspirations and ideals of his own. Now, he's a walking stoic who, while his spark may be in good nature, is almost completely uninteresting.
Though, Ratchet's comparison of Optimus to Jack is VERY on the mark.
The way Megatron is acting in this episode makes me think that this is the beginning of the season 1 finale arc.
Both Megatron and Bumblebee just fly/drive to the battle instead of Bridging themselves there. One question: Why?
Is Raf... still functional?
Ah, wait, yes he is... barely.
Why do I get the suspicious feeling that Raf is going to undergo a sort... "reconstruction" (hint hint) in Ratchet's lab?
It's the mysterious villain and his volcano! But I don't see any horns. So, non-Unicron options are still open.
Then again, maybe it really is Unicron, given Megatron's dialogue mere seconds later. Though, it's also possible that Megs could be mistaken, since he doesn't outright say that this villain is, without a doubt, Unicron. He could just be confusing this villain's face for that of Unicron, what with the similar beards and all.
Arcee is awesome as ever, calming Bee down.
Optimus: "Megatron must be destroyed!" - So much for wanting to reach any good left within in his brother. I dunno, maybe Exiles will provide further look into Megatron's decent into darkness.
The cursed "One shall stand, one shall fall" line is repeated here AGAIN! Come up with more original ultimatum, PLEASE!
While impressive, I sadly find the Prime/Megs battle to be quite unengaging for two reasons. One, I'm more concerned about what's gonna happen to Raf. And two, I'm MUCH more interested in that volcano that's connected to the new villain. I mean, this fight is just delaying the revelation of that volcano's nature. I wanna what its deal is!
I see a potential toy redeco in Megatron's purple glowing state.
Okay, so that volcano is full of Dark Energon. One question: Why?
TO BE CONTINUED... yet still a very good episode.

The bot in the trailer = the bot in these pictures.BeastProwl wrote:Sabrblade wrote:I managed to snap two screenshots of the new villain's face as best I could, given the video quality of the sources.
Yeah, I paused it to look at him too. He looks like Brawn LOL.
IDK, He's just a very "Domey" bot.
BTW, That bot we saw in the teaser, you don't think that, after megatron goes into the volcano, he comes out as Galvatron, do you? That would be SWEET!
Also, I hope Screamer makes an appearence next episode. I'm suffering from withdrawel....

Nearly everyone's saying that that guy IS Unicron (I don't want it to be, but all signs point to it being him). Megs isn't just "seeing the future", he's also "hear[ing] Unicron's thoughts". They're associating that face with Unicron.BeastProwl wrote:you have a compelling argument there sir, but as to WHO he is? Scourge, Galvatron? I mean, He's seeing the future, and seeing through Unicron's eyes. Maybe he sees what unicron will make of him? Galvatron would be cool. Long stretch, but what if?
Only time will tell, and who knows, that could be another bot ENTIRELY so....Let's just hope we get to get this treat again next week, with a little starscream sauce on the side, hmm?

Several humans have defeated Transformers on their own.SKYWARPED_128 wrote:And most of all, kudos to them for keeping the human soldiers out of the fights. I'm glad Orci and Kurtzman realize humans can never take on giant transforming robots head on and hope to win...or survive.

Victor Drath and Old Snake/Cobra Commander rendered Rodimus Prime, Ultra Magnus, Springer, and Arcee without their bodies (putting them in weaker human bodies instead).
The G.I. Joe Team killed Bumblebee.
Serpentor killed Dirge.
Circuit Breaker alone disabled many Transformers and completely fried Unicron!!!
Meltdown could kill a Transformer with a single (prolonged) touch.
And so on and so forth.
The first example comes from the G1 cartoon.SKYWARPED_128 wrote:Honestly, I don't read TF comics, or comics in general.
When the G.I. Joe team took out Bumblebee, they didn't use any special weapons, but standard (of the time) military armaments.SKYWARPED_128 wrote:But in view of the examples you've shown me, I guess I'll rephrase it this way: There's no way generic human soldiers can defeat a Transformer head on. My real beef is with the way a dinky bunch of tanks and a single squadron of jets can take out an army of TF's in the movies.
Just goes to show that puny fleshlings can be capable against the bots.SKYWARPED_128 wrote:I do, however, like how the humans used covert tactics to take down Decepticons in DOTM.
