Sprokit glanced up at a sudden creak, breaking his concentration on a Holo-book he was reading. Glancing around the tight room for the source of the sound, it was rather bleak, the color scheme of his quarters was gray, a dull gray at that. Where he sat was a chair, made of cheap metal. And a table was sitting in front of him, made of the same metal as the chair, and littered with many random supplies and Holo-books, for the rare time of peace. He still searched the room for the source of the noise, and looked at a mirror in the corner of his quarters to see if it was shaking, he saw a silver colored Autobot, with red highlights, and two wheels sticking up from his back, turned horizontally. The bot he saw was his reflection.
Movement caught his eye, a panel was creaking under the swaying motion of the gravity simulator that was unfortunately placed under his quarters.
Blasted floor panels again... Sprokit thought to himself irritably.
He then glanced back to his Holo-book, and began to read it. He was then abruptly interrupted again by a familiar voice.
"Bang." Said the voice from the shadows of his quarters.
"Fireup, you little glitch!" Sprockit said to his friend where the voice originated.
His friend walked from the shadows, revealing his red armor, his wings came from his back in a "V" shape.
"Thanks for the complement! I'll be sure to use that later!" Fireup said through a chuckle.
"How'd you even get in here?" Sprokit asked standing up from his seat.
"Very carefully," Fireup said, "Lame joking aside, where were you?"
"How do you mean?" Sprokit asked with a start.
"You did remember our Double-Date, right?" Fireup asked him worriedly, "With Airbrake and Afterburn?"
He had completely forgotten about the Get-Together that they had planned.
"Forgot," Sprokit said as he motioned to the Holo-book in his hand, "And its a Get-Together, not a Double-Date!"
"Whatever! You stood up a femme, and she's gonna turn you to a scrapheap," Fireup said, stepping forward, "Recommendation? Hide!"
Sprokit laughed at his joke hoarsely, then set his Holo-book down, and said, "C'mon. Lets go get a drink or two."
Fireup chuckled and led the way to the door, which slid open to reveal a hallway, and a very angry femme. Airbrake was a mostly silver Autobot Aerialbot with yellow highlights on her wings that rest loosely on her hips. She boasted a stern frown and piercing blue optics.
"So much for hiding," Fireup murmured to Sprokit.
"No kidding." Sprokit whispered back.
"How dare you!" She yelled, "I go and dress myself up, wait for a solid hour to get on an elevator, to get to the recreational center, I think to myself, 'Oh, certainly that the considerate bot I'm supposed to meet will be there when I get over there!', but no! You decided to stay in your cabin, and not come to me, like we agreed!"
Airbrake continued on with her tirade, while Sprokit and Fireup stood there, completely aghast, shooting desperate glances at her, and each other.
"I'm not in this, right? So..." Fireup said as he began to slide away.
"You're in this too! I told you to go get him, and wha-" Airbrake was abruptly interrupted by an alarm and pulsing red lights.
"Warning! Decepticon battleship incoming! Battlestations! This is not a drill! I repeat, this is not a drill! Decepticon B- Oh Primus... Seven Decepticon Battleships." A voice said over a shipwide intercom, "Autobots! ABANDON THE BRIDGE! SLAGGIT, EVACUATE THE- Arrgh!" The ship shook violently, and static was heard over the intercom.
They all stood there, taking in what had just happened, in awe.
"Were all gonna DIE!" Fireup cried out.
"Shut your voice transmitter and go with Sprokit to the cargo hold, I'll go to the main defense force and help! Go, go, go!" She ordered them.
They looked at each other, and back to Airbrake, then they simply turned around and began to run to the elevator that was placed at the end of the hallway.
They would be the last defense of the Autobots if the Decepticons get by the first line, and they both knew, if not subconsciously, that there was a good chance that they wouldn't get out of there alive.
