I don’t have a huge sample size of either line, but I don’t think that’s necessarily the case. I mean, compare SS Starscream to POTP Starscream. That being said though, $30 is a little high for a voyager class figure.

Considering the deluxes were around 20, which was already too much in my opinion I would assume the voyagers will be more. I honestly think 20 to 25 dollars is a good price for a voyager and certainly not a deluxe.
I can justify a deluxe costing about 12 to 15 or so. Even 15 feels a bit much but considering that the Prime Wars Trilogy has such good figures I don't mind paying more because it feels worth it. But yeah, 30 bucks for a voyager? Get outta here. I can see Brawl on Amazon for 29.99. No. Just no.

Exactly. It's either the prices rise, or the toys get "trimmed down". No one want THAT to happen to whole lines, right?
FOC Jazz:
--Packaging proudly say "COME WITH A GUN!" Gun is a dinky little thing.
--Hollow parts everywhere
--Very thin semi-soft plastics, almost clear
--Size dramatically reduced
--Barely any paint
But eh, it the same price at the RTS Jazz that came out some years ago. So it's all right!

But waiting for the tattooed look for Quad-S? with the saw? That is what I wanted. Perfect.

So it's less a case like "G2 Smokescreen --> Energon Starscream" and more like "G2 Smokescreen --> 2010 Terradive".Carnivius_Prime wrote:ZeroWolf wrote:It may look like an upscale but it's not, this was talked about a lot during the early pages of this thread. Yeah it's not a simple upscale like the oversized KO of the DotM Deluxe, it's just very much based on the Deluxe but takes advantage of the larger size for more detail and some extra bits (mostly those torso filler bits that unfold from the wings).

Isn't Hasbro's number for Ironhide 14? -So whileis releasing the exact same figures, it would appear the numbering sequence isn't following suit. It was "one off" because of Thundercracker, but after that, it gets all kinds of wonky.
Also I was wondering what the other "Ratchet" is onlist. It appears to be a Voyager rather than a Deluxe. Or am I reading the proicuing scale incorrectly? If so, this would be the first studio series character to be released in different size classes, which I thought might be a big no-no unless their forms in different films were different enough to warrant it (i.e. Soundwave...)
JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:You're reading the prices wrong, they're more in line with the rest of the world if you're only taking the last two digits off:
1,200 Yen: One-Step
2,800 Yen: Deluxe Class (which is what the second Ratchet falls under)
4,500 Yen: Voyager Class

No...I was reading the prices correctly, I just didn't realize the toys were so expensive 2800 Y is roughly $25.00 U.S. (currently), and that's what I'm used to paying for a Voyager, not a deluxe... I figured the toys were *about* the same price in whatever country you by them, it's just that importers pay extra taxes, and of course have to make a profit themselves, which is why a typicaldeluxe is like around $35 on BBTS. Now though, with the brand unifications, it appears there is little to no incentive to import these toys, when you end up basically paying DOUBLE for the exact same toy, same packaging, just Japanese lettering being the only difference.

I highly disagree, I find those toys so different from one another (and they are different characters anway). This really isnt about shared engineering or whatnot, it is upscale. But upscale while adding detail.
The best comparison would be the other actual upscale of BH Predaking from Legion to Voyager.

You got it right!
And while that is true, I still am oddly attracted to that figure. I still like it
