I thought Sqweeks was a fun new character and the figure we got is pretty nice. I'd like to see a SS version less the trailer (parts/plastic count) to fully realize the character in plastic. I felt there were a few compromises in the premiere version, like his arms not turning into his handlebars and maybe less partsforming. Also less **** streaks, had to bust out the alcohol to clean him up.ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:Hey, I liked Sqweeks and the big cannon that turned out to be built into his replacement arm was a great bit.Rodimus Prime wrote:That would put me off from buying him brand new. Sadly, you're probably right. F**k sqweeks.ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:Mohawk could come with Isabella, Sqweeks, and perhaps a TRF drone.
And Mohawk either has to have things bundled in with him or be bundled with somebody else, because this line doesn't do the Legends class. He could be bundled in with Slash at the Voyager price point maybe.
I figured I'd drag this here to not sidetrack another thread. Obviously I'm not a movieverse fan, but I like cool toys. For me more articulation in the arms and "tail" would be a vast improvement. Posing that guy is a real challenge. Would there be any other changes to make Rampage more screen accurate/fun/mo betta?ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:that pic strengthens my wish for a non-combining version of Rampage.carytheone wrote:

They're both long trucks, but Overload is an articulated dumptruck with a four-armed humanoid robot mode and who forms part of Devastator while Devcon is a Russian missile truck with a robot mode based on the Cloverfield Monster (and which has an underslung cannon) and who doesn't form part of a combiner.
Are you listening to yourself? There's so many changes that they may as well make an entirely new mold!Nemesis Primal wrote:ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:Overload really doesn't work as a base for Devcon. I dunno, a few other people have mentioned this before and I think it's doable. All they'd have to do is:
-Remove the second pair of arms, retool shoulders, use their plastic/mass to make his remaining arms all Cloverfield-y
-New head
-Retool/reshell alt mode, since the alt modes are basically the same in terms of proportion (and Hasbro is never going to spoil us with a working missile section on this guy's alt mode)
-Use the plastic/mass previously dedicated to the Vortex Grinder part to make the gun
-If necessary, retool out/remove any joints/mechanisms that were necessary only for combining to use that plastic elsewhere (gun/alt mode shell/arms)
They're somewhat similar, but there's also a number of dissimilarities.Nemesis Primal wrote:The legs are basically the same,
Not in robot mode they don't! Take a look again at how far Devcon's hindlegs are from his forelegs - he either has a long torso or long upper back legs, whereas Overload is squat. The forelegs are entirely different from any of Overload's arms.Nemesis Primal wrote:they have very similar proportions in both modes that I can't unsee,
The choices with the Constructicons are mainly based on the needs of the Devastator combo, which isn't a factor with Devcon. Plus a number of designs were never seen in robot mode in the film - which is NOT the case with Devcon.Nemesis Primal wrote:they clearly don't make the figures based 100% on concept art given some design choices with Constructicons,
Parts sharing, I'll grant you. But so much of him is different that it would be minor parts sharing at most (perhaps even less than what Shockwave and ROTF Megs share). The truck is completely different and his limbs largely form different bits of it, he has more wheels than Overload, his forelegs are completely different from Overload's arms so they would have to be new, the head and torso would need to be new, the weapon would need to be new... So much new tooling would be required that they may as well be making a new mold. Especially since, now that I think of it, parts recycling is probably contingent on the source mold's layout.Nemesis Primal wrote:and I don't have enough faith in Hasbro to think that they'll make this guy as his own original mold or even at all without parts sharing like Shockwave's Megatron bits. Disagree if you like, but "are you listening to yourself" is a bit much.
Nemesis Primal wrote:I think part of the problem with Devcon is that he never transformed in the film and had a total of 18 seconds of screentime, while also being in the background of almost every shot he was in, so the exact details of his appearance are kinda vague. We only know his alt mode from this concept art and the concept art isn't super helpful with the bot mode, since you can't see the whole thing and I think he has two right arms given the tire placement. To me, the legs look the same as Overload's but backwards, I've no real idea what his chest looks like, he probably has a similar transformation scheme of his arms becoming the back half-ish of the truck with the torso and legs forming the front, and the proportions look the same since he's 65% arms with similarly shaped alt modes (Overload just has multiple arms where Devcon has long arms), but to you or someone else it may differ since we don't have an exact statement of He Looks Like This.
Also I think in the movie he had two smaller chest guns, rather than the cannon on the concept art, so turning the Vortex Grinder part's plastic allotment into those would be easier than that one big one.

Honorable mention: A deluxe class "boxset" for Sam, Mikayla, Carly, Cade, Frenzy, Lennox, and Simmons. Maybe throw in some legion Transformer like a bigger Lazerbeak.

And having pretty much wrapped up packing the bots, this is one of the greatest upgrades we have gotten recently
