Those fans are definitely embarrassing. It's also definitely embarrassing that some fans staunchly defend the Michael Bay Transformers movies as well. Both sides have their embarrassing moments.

It’s fine to like or dislike the movies as long as you’re not a jerk about it to other people, which unfortunately, like you said, happens on both sides.

The movies are what got me into Transformers, and I still enjoy watching them all. 07 and DOTM are still great movies IMO (not without faults) and ROTF is really enjoyable without all the crude humor. Not as fond of AOE or TLK, but I still watch them when they’re on TV.

And the designs are, of course, my favorite designs in all of Transformers.

At that same time, I get why people don’t like them. That’s ok! It’s really just not worth arguing about or being mean to other people about.

Now, this is the studio series thread, so uh. . . Here’s a picture of Roadbuster I don’t think I’ve posted before! While I wouldn’t say Roadbuster is as good as Leadfoot or some of the other deluxe Autobots, it is still a really nice figure. The molded detail is super good, and it’s really nice to have a weaponized deluxe after all these years.

That is hands down the best description of the Bayverse that I have ever read!

It's also similar to how I explained The Mandalorian to my brother. I told him to imagine that the Lucas movies were a beautiful field of grass. The Disney movies were a massive cow pie on said grass. And while the Mandalorian might be a cherry, it's on top of the cow pie. Do I want to eat that cherry? No. No, I do not.

I mean with that analogy just wash the cherry before eating it.

I don't get avoiding a good piece of media just because it so happens to take place in the same continuity with bad ones.

(which is how I view the first 3 bay movies in comparison to the latter two which I still somewhat like even if I prefer the Bay films to be a trilogy in hindsight)

IMO, the first 3 movies were awesome despite their dumb moments. But the Knights Duology were disapointments piling on top of more disapointments.

Regardless of the movies quality, they gave us awesome and mad designs though.

Pretty disappointed we didn’t get any Studio Series at Pulsecon, but NYCC online is October 8-11, maybe we’ll see something there?

I really hope we get some nice reveals. I've decided to heavily cut back collecting Generations and sticking to SS so PulseCon was, as you say, disappointing. Praying for a nice Dino and Jolt reveal.

Let me just say that the dark pine green on Roadbuster is sublime, both on the figure and especially in the movie, a big contributor for why he's within my top 5 movie designs amongst other things.

Image

Out of all the movies I think DOTM has the best color coded Autobots in general. (Also the best cast in concept, execution of course is much to be desired but I think for a show/movie 10 Autobots would be my ideal, anything that isn't a 5 man band or less.)

Optimus is a heroic red and blue combo, Sentinel in contrast is just a red which can be viewed visually as both heroic and villainous, Bumblebee is a bright yellow with some black to pop, Ratchet's white and green is a nice look which somewhat sticks closer to his G1 counterpart as well as just Medic colors in general, Ironhide is a nice shiny black color which is technically bland but it adds diversity amongst the cast, Sideswipe is much like Ironhide in that regard although the silver is colorful enough, Dino is just a nice bright red that just catches your eye, Que has an elegant dark blue, the Wreckers are darker shades of green, red and blue but also have things to break up those colors due to the race car alt modes.

It's a bit interesting that we still don't have any figures of Skids or Mudflap, either in their ice cream truck mode, their individual Revenge of the Fallen car modes, or even their cameo appearances in Dark of the Moon.

Those two were bad characters in the movie, but they did had great toys. Especially the stellar HA ones that still sell for a premium to these days.

Thanks! I used Decoart acrylics extreme sheen Emerald, and I think it matches the on-screen color really well.

I agree about the DOTM Autobots, they have a really nice mix of colors. The new designs were all really cool, and I really liked all of the changes to the existing Autobot designs. I'm super excited to have them all together in Studio Series, we just need Bumblebee, Dino, and Que!

I'm still holding out hope for a deluxe packaging with the twins in it as 1 package, like the Arcees. It would work for me and allow Devastator to chomp on them better.

Movie 1 wise, we only need a SS Frenzy mini figure

RotF wise we're missing Jolt, the Twins, Grindor, and Ravage at this point I believe. And the Sideswipe body from that movie.

DotM wise we're missing Que, Dino, Devcon, and Hatchet.

AOE wise we need another go at Galvatron, evasion mode Bee, and that could just about do it.

TLK wise I would like a proper Infernocus (1 voyager, 1 deluxe, and buy 4 deluxes to make the combiner), Onslaught, Dreadbot, Mohawk, and Hot Rod (come on, he needs his own mold).

Bee movie, we have everything. Only one I might say I would like is the Thrust that showed up on Cybertron.

I've always heard that Loader's robot mode didn't show up in the movie, but that Decepticon has some vehicle kibble on it! Hard to tell but it looks like it totally could be Loader. I like that there's still new things that I notice with that movie even though I've seen it a million times. On my last rewatch I noticed that the gun Ironhide uses to point-blank Crowbar (the one Sideswipe kicks to him) is actually one of Sideswipe's guns, I always thought it was one of the heavy irons.

In terms of figures we still need in SS, the only things I can think to add to what's already been said is the Fallen (Not quite sure how they'd pull that off), DOTM Bumblebee, AOE Concept Bee, and TLK Barricade.

While I'd love to get all of the Bayverse Bumblebee designs in SS, DOTM is the one I'm hoping for the most.

AOE was on TV not too long ago and I actually liked the design of the Junkheap bots, while it's not a need to complete the cast I think that'd be a fun figure. A leader class figure in vehicle mode that breaks into 3 slightly sub-deluxe figures?

The Loader thing is speculation on my part but I'm pretty sure there are some Superfund truck details on that Decepticon, them being there would explain why Loader isn't in Chicago and how they survived to get killed by Cemetery Wind later down the road.

This is also presuming that the Loader on the card is in fact the same guy as the truck and not just some random made up information by Ask Vector Prime.

God I wish I had the money to make a bid on those darn cards at the time the auction went up for them or at the very least some fan got ahold of them, out there is some guy who probably has no idea of the holy grail that they have with those cards and the information they could provide, at least we got Dino's possible survival out of them.
