Finally got my hands on Long Haul today thanks to BBTS. Now I just need Mixmaster and Scrapper and then Devastator will be complete. I will say, I find it kinda funny that my earlier prediction of the $20 I saved on Overload would end up going toward picking up Long Haul

Been working on this one for a little while - I gave Mixmaster a small but much needed improvement!

I hand-painted it using some Decepticon logos from an ROTF sticker sheet I've had since 2009 as a basis.

I had no plans of even trying it at first either, but after doing all the work on Leadfoot I figured I could at least give it a try. Worst case scenario, I could just paint it over with silver!

I've never tried making decals before, but it is something I'd like to look into. I really don't think I'm going to be able to hand paint flames on my SS DOTM Prime xD

Don't bother, because this reason is not good enough. Just because they put the hinges on different parts doesn't matter. Not enough to justify the price increase. He still takes up the same amount of room with the same amount of plastic if transformed differently.

Kind of sad, just before the Holidays, a couple of the walmarts near me were overflowing with Leader class, specifically the 2 that make Devastator, and DotM Megatron. But just after the first of the year, they all disappeared. I thought they all sold in some grand fason but no, Now almost a month later,(they must have just been pulled off the shelf to make room for the reset), they are now being sold on clearance for $34.00. I thought about getting them as they are the 2 biggest parts of Devastator, but to go back and get the remaining ones might be more costly than it's worth even after saving 30% or so on these 2 Leaders.

We needed to get some things on Friday, I guess Walmart it is! I'd be ecstatic to find it at that price, although honestly I'd buy it at retail price too if I can find it.

You can get a lot of the Devastator components now at retail price on amazon (Mixmaster, Scrapper, Skipjack), the difficult ones are going to be Long Haul, Scrapmetal, and Hightower.

o.supreme, coming from someone who thinks Bayverse Devy is an ugly mess, I kinda want to own the Constructicons, because I think separately they're beautiful pieces. Especially the 2 leaders, that red really pops on them. They're worth the clearance price.

There’s supposed to be a snowstorm here over the weekend so we went out to Walmart tonight. Saw Jetfire, DOTM Megatron, and Scavenger on shelves. Looked above the shelf and saw 2 Jetfires, 2 Scavengers. . .

And off to the side, 1 Overload!

It was $50 but I had a gift card so it’s all good. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a Devastator to assemble!

I spent a little bit of time with him before combining, it is a really cool figure! Vehicle mode is a little iffy but it nails the robot mode.

Oh my gosh this thing is insane. It’s freaking huge.

I’m actually liking the biped configuration more than I thought I would, but I’m going to start trying quadruped configurations now.

Just. . . Wow. Nice job, Hasbro! This thing is incredible.

He really is a beast of a bot. I too prefer the biped configuration. He is monstrous!

Overload is one of my favorites of the set too, wonderfully dumb and great all at once! It's why I have no problem owning 2 of him.

And your extra paint work to Devastator makes him look really good!

There is an upgrade kit coming for him next month too, I'm looking forward to adding it to him. I don't often buy upgrade kits, but this one seems very worth it, and Devastator deserves it for finally happening in this fashion.

Here it is

Adds some bulk to the shoulders as well as the hose like details to his shoulder region. Helps widen his head out some too. Provides the backside of his vortex grinder that is formed by Scavengers wheels in better detail.

They also added a chest plate to cover up Overload's head in combined mode, a gun for Mixmaster for his half-assed 3rd gun mode (the kit is very half assed too), and of course, enemy scrotum.

It is a hefty price tag, which is also why I normally don't buy upgrade kits. I only own 2 currently outside of extra weapons, but one was for FOC Ruination and was 60% off, and the other was for Volcanicus, who sorely needed it. I justified this one since my Scrapper was free and both Overloads were $30, so right there was the $50 I needed

I’ve been fiddling with a quadruped mode and I actually really like that too! I’ll probably switch back and forth from time to time.

That upgrade kit does look really good, people over in TFW are starting to get theirs and reviews are positive from what I’ve read.

If there weren’t other kits out I think I’d be interested but I really want to pick up that Sentinel/Blackout/Bumblebee kit (which unfortunately shot up $20 on BBTS recently).

I got lucky, I secured that one for the original $25 price point. It's sitting paid for in my stack that I'm still waiting on a source points event to ship it out on.

Have you had any issues with TFSource? I didn't when I bought War Hammer Bumblebee years ago, but I've heard since that people have had credit cards stolen from there.

I just use PayPal with TFSource, avoiding the subject altogether.
