(If this is just another remold/repaint, I'm done. The line is already really small, and filled with repaints, you don't need to be this cheap Has/Tak)
Filled with repaints?
Not including the Legion class of course:
Let's see, Straight repaints: Deluxe Slash, Deluxe Slug, Deluxe Bumblebee and Voyager Grimlock, Leader Prime.
Retools: Deluxe Drift. Deluxe Crosshairs
100% New Molds: New Deluxe Bumblebee, Barricade, Beserker, Squeeks, Steelbane, Voyager Prime, Voyager Hound, Voyager Megatron, Voyager Scorn, Leader Megatron, Dragonstorm
Did I miss anything?
Likely to get new molds too: Cogman, Hot Rod. Several other characters seen in the trailer still up in the wind.
So far, 5 out of around 20 molds are straight repaints.
Don't forget the redder redeco of DotM Voyager Prime.

By definition, it's a leak, shown in a UK toy catalog as part of the standard Voyager Assortment.

All's I'm saying is, there sure are a lot of repaints, in a line that, in comparison to older lines is very small. Yes drift is a heavy remold, but imo, the robot mode is a huge downgrade so, to me, the remolding is pointless, but that's just me. However, let me make this clear, I AM impressed by the actually completely new molds, I just wish there were more of them.
Also, I've heard this around here before, but what exactly did they change on the new crosshairs other than paint apps? Just curious.

Do you know something we dont? There have been no pics of that Dragonstorm toy yet so if you have them please share them.
If you dont, then we cant give it a guarantee its new and not a retool of Prime Predaking or something else. Point is 100% proof should have proof, like a picture.
You are also missing voyager BB but, like Dragonstorm, we dont know for sure what it looks like yet.
Cogman will have a one step and tiny turbo changer but you dont count those and Hot Rod wil probably be a store exclusive, which you arent counting either (because or else, your amount of redecos would increase a ton).
Overcracker wrote:So no Deluxe Cogman? No regular release Hot Rod?
william-james88 wrote:Overcracker wrote:So no Deluxe Cogman? No regular release Hot Rod?
There is only one deluxe for the mainline that is still unknown, so it cant be both of those.
AOE had 0 straight redecos of previous movie toys in the mainline, TLK has at least 5 (not counting legions) so yes this is a definite downgrade from the previous movie line.

Please read my post well instead of arguing for argument sake. I repeat:
AOE had 0 straight redecos of previous movie toys in the mainline, TLK has at least 5 (not counting legions)

But compared to the TLK line it only has one less deluxe and one less leader with the same amount of voyagers. I am comparing TLK with the previous toyline, why would we be comparing AOE to previous movie lines instead of the actual movie line this discussion is about?
AOE had 10 original fully new deluxe molds. The most TLK has is 6 (and thats IF the final revealed deluxe is a new mold).
Thats appaling.
-Kanrabat- wrote:What I really don't like is not only TLK is repaint galore, but these repaints are 33% more expensive for voyagers and a whopping 50% more expensive for the deluxes. Some do have nice paint like voyager Grimlock, but other are just plain insulting like the 1st wave Bumblebee.

C.S. Lewis wrote:Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.

When I started toy collecting 10 years ago, I was pretty embarrassed when I bought the toys. Now I'm 40 and I just don't give a single fok. No matter if I carry robots OR dolls.
