Really wish Hasbro would get their heads out of their @sses and produce some Decepticon characters worthy of the Leader class line.
That's the reality of the toy market. Heroes sell better.
No Decepticon is more worthy of a leader figure than Megatron, and he's still on shelves almost a year later.
By contrast, let me know how many Ultra Magnuses you find.
(Ultra Magni? )
Hmm...I've always attributed Leader class Megatron's shelf-warming to just being an undesirable figure (Armada anyway). H3ll I passed on both versions because they simply don't fit with the rest of the CHUG line that make up my collection. As a result United Megatron is still my stand in.
Scale wise Ultra-Magnus and Jetfire have always towered over everyone else. Megatron, the Seekers and now Soundwave were all silly choices as Leader Class figures IMO.
Over here, Armada Megatron was shelfwarming for a while... Untill a 30-35$CAN for leaders sale at TrU. I tought I had time and I could get one using a raincheck because I was broke at the time... WRONG! ALL the fokken leaders were almost instantly gone and the shelves never recovered after that, remaining empty of leaders untill some months later with a lone 60$ Starscream.
I congratulate myself for not waiting and paying full price for Leader G1 Megatron. With reprolabels on, he's very PIMP and awesome in my collection. No regrets. No regrets at all.
So, when a store have the figure you really want, DONT wait for a sale. It's a gamble you might lose.
And personally, I don't give a flying fok about scale. I don't display teams. I display all the characters as groups of the same characters. Meaning a Megatron display, a Optimus one, a Starscream one, ect. Then, it's by lines or categories for the rest, meaning all the minibots, Armada, RID, combiners, Beast Wars, ect.
But heh, personal preferences.
