Beachcomber definitely needs an update. I'm curious about the new Brawn and how he'll be.

It's a straight-up re-issue.

Qwan wrote:WreckerJack wrote:That silver sharpie job looks great. How does it hold up over time?
It doesn't.
In more detail: I've found that Sharpie work tends to stay pretty much perfect for about a week or so, after that the rate it tarnishes and to what degree will really depend on what type of plastic it is and what it's going through, so to speak. The black on the edges on Windblade's wings wore off pretty easily since that's the natural point to hold when moving those parts, same with her hands - but the shoulders and head fan stayed pretty much perfect since they undergo very little direct contact from skin or other plastic in regular play/display.
How Sharpie would fare without being touched at all, I'm not sure! I'm not the type to leave my toys posed and not touch them. But hey, it looks great for a while at least! And when it (inevitably, sadly) wears off, it can just be reapplied equally easily as it was the first time - for reference, Blurr there took maybe 45 minutes of semi-focused work, as opposed to who-knows-how-long to actually paint all that properly - and I honestly kind of enjoy the "painting" process so it's actually kinda fun for me to reapply it every once in a while.
TL;DR Sharpie doesn't hold up great over time but it's still great value-for-effort, and if you're careful not to handle "painted" sections directly it'll last a lot longer and look a lot nicer.
...And now I realise where my life is at because I just spent two large paragraphs explaining the specifics of applying permanent marker to plastic toys.

Oh yeah,. I forgot about that Huffer repainted from Legends Prime. But if you are talking about ones that don't have straight up updates in the current design team, Warpath and Huffer can't count as those are redesigns (repaints of other characters technically, but they don't fall in with what you are meaning if I understand it right). Also what about Cliffjumper?

Thrilling 30 Cosmos is from the older design team.
The new design team starts at Gen Whirl and Roadbuster so the second half of thrilling 30, with all the retools and redecos.
He's at least getting a re-issue.
Still, I probably should have made it a bit clearer; straight-up updates of the old toys rather than re-imaginings in the new Legends class.

Well I am Australian. It's kinda what we're known for.
o.supreme wrote:Also...the fact that it likely (though I guess we don't know for sure) will not come with Sky High, will not be updated in anyway to include the Titan-Master theme so a TM can fit inside (at least there's no way I can see this happening) seems like it wont be much of a draw.
Kurona wrote:Yeah, Cosmos' re-issuing in this line is extremely puzzling since unlike CW, they went out of their way to make sure every single figure in the line was in some way able to interact with the line's overall gimmick. You'd think they'd at least half-ass it and put a few TM foot pegs on his flying saucer mode, but... nope.
And even beyond that, like o.supreme said; there's so many redecoes and/or new head redecoes they could do. Eject, Frumble, Cliffjumper, Outback, Hubcap, Bumper, a ton of Throttlebots... but instead we get Cosmos?

yes
painted/molded black
Heeeell yes. Love it!
Also, just realised that with Seaspray, the only 1985 minibot yet to get an update (counting CW Warpath) is Beachcomber. Prepare to get stoned af in power of the primes
Are people not liking Seaspray? I think he looks great and straight out of the cartoon.
Huh? Far as I can tell people love him. Maybe I just wasn't clear in what I was saying; I was saying that now Seaspray has an update; the only 1985 Minibot left to get an update in Generations is Beachcomber - given Thrilling 30 Cosmos, CW Warpath and CW Powerglide.

Can Legends Brawn interact with Titan masters? And the bird casettes cant either.

william-james88 wrote:Also...the fact that it There are a ton of new fans who werent around when he got released the first time, he will be a big draw for them, regardless if he comes with a weapon or not. In G1 they would keep rereleasing toys since there were new fans every year.
If Hasbro were to rerelease that CW Prime or any of the First Edition prime figures, they would be draws too. Its just different product on the shelf and I think its a better wave mate than just repacking TR Bumblebee again.

I will have to check those forklifts out then.
I see nothing wrong with them rereleasing an older generations toy. People collecting now will want all the minibots, and this is an easy way to get him if you dont have him yet. I wished they rereleased Swerve.

I highly recomend that Magnus, he is a fun figure with a smart transformation.
