Well I guess the figure is ruined for me now I'll still get it as is my goal to collect the whole series but this will probably be the first deluxe I will be meh with but I don't have a Kup and I'm not going to probably be able to buy the big $200 set.

Haha, trueness. I do wonder why this head design is so strangely long since the Titan Master heads are normally more squarish.

Also, while I like the mold a lot, its really too bad that we have this colour scheme when hasbro itself promotes a more fitting colour on the actual art made for this toy:





The artist was smart, he knew what worked well. The helmet and shoulders are dark teal while the arms are grey, I dont like this bizzaro world version we got instead.

Yup. And another thing. All those complaints about the colors. First, the source and the medium. Until you see it firsthand, it would be very unfair to the product to judge it by that variable. Not all PC monitors are built in the same mold. Also, as mentioned previously, there's still the Takara version.

I would suspect that Kup's relatively plain look would be improved somewhat by a Titans Returns sticker sheet.

He's not completely horrible though.

Just in case anyone's interested I started using the silver sharpie on Galvatron for an intended G1 toy/Marvel Galvy look. Gonna get some red for the 'belt' and dark gray for his kneepads and face with yellow eyes and some purple for his elbow joints and thighs. But yeah I'm already liking this figure more now.

I should invest in one of those silver sharpies.

Yeah even if you don't go nuts with them like I do it's useful for shining up small details that could use it like car grills and hubcaps and particularly areas where Takara's painted silver on that Hasbro didn't bother or just left as grey plastic.

Considerable for false advertising? Either way it's bad form. The artist rendition on the card has a superior colour scheme to what we've seen with the actual figure.

At least it's showing the actual figure design though unlike some Transformers box art. Didn't that recent Deluxe Galvatron and Titanium Rodimus Prime pack use box art showing them in their original G1 designs rather than the toys in the box? Something like that I seem to recall.

Can 'fix' this paint scheme easily enough.

Nope. The card artwork is not representative of the figure and the box art will have a disclaimer somewhere that contents may vary from product shown. They've covered themselves.

Its not false advertising, especially since the image of the actual toy in the back will have the right colours. It just sucks and makes this a bit more frustrating. Like they know how it should look but gave us something else.

That looks BRILLIANT!

I hope they remold/repaint Legends Class Brawn as an Outback figure. Then we could reenact "Five Faces of Darkness Part One" with Leader Blaster.

It's a pack of official Sharpie brand metallic pens in gold, silver and bronze I bought from a local shop as an impulse buy and now I know they work all nice I've been ordering some other colours non-metallic and metallic online. For example I've just ordered a pinkish/reddish oner I wanna colour Titans Hot Rod in cos they still keep releasing him in red plastic when he's got more of a magenta tint in G1 media.

He got that hole on the great custom war of 16'.

Maybe we got a bit spoilt with the quality of tr figures, at least I feel there have been some of the best and most fun figures yet, with great homages too... would definitely like to see a crosshairs reliant.. kup looks ok but not great... one thing tho, is that I'm sure his transformation will be simpler and less fiddly than generations kup... which scores points for me.

One thing that bothers me about TR vs the original headmasters is that the mini figures don't have flaps that hide the face in robot mode... in fact I recall being a bit miffed about that wh n I got squeezeplay as a kid too...

A quick check of a few TR figures I have on hand suggests that it's on about 50% of TMs actually. (For reference, of the ones I checked: Hot Rod, Highbrow, and Skullsmasher have them; while Blurr, A3, and Wolfwire don't.) I assume it's a molding point or something - the ones that don't have that dot on the heel instead appear to have two of them in the rear-calf cavities.
(EDIT: Upon further examination, all TMs appear to have the calf-cavity (calfity?) dots, not just the ones without a heel dot, so... *shrug*)
