I.... never thought of putting a CW next to Predaking... that's perfect! Really conflicted with my MT Giant and FP "fix" for the re-issue energon (?) combaticons.

This is the way I had them displayed. Don't forget omega supreme goes in just as easily, although Devastator throws a wrench in everything. Now almost everyone is packed for moving and I can't snap a pic

I'm so conflicted with CW Devastator. I got him, and forgot how big he is... then shocked to realize metroplex/fort max will be BIGGER.

The robot modes feel about right for MP scaling. Combined mode i'm still on the fence with. I think there have been other posts in other places with animation caps that show it's *about* the right size with the MPs? It's just a shame he's soo much bigger than the rest of the CW combiners.

I love my Platinum Edition Predaking! I've got all of my combiners up on the top of the shelving units where I display my Classics Transformers. Keeping them company up there are Primus (Cybertron), Metroplex (Generations), Omega Supreme (Platinum), Scorponok (TFCC) and Unicron, fyi.

For the Autobots combiners, so far I have Superion (UW), Defensor (US), Optimus Grand Prime (UW), Sky Reign (CW), Nexus Maximus (TFCC), and Ruination (FOC). I can't wait to put up Computron (UW) and Fortress Maximus (Takara Legends) later this year. Right now, I've got Cybertron Metroplex pretending to be a more diminutive form of Fort Max, akin to his current IDW appearance.

For the Decepticons, I've got Devastator (UW), Menasor (UW), Bruticus (CW for now, UW soon), Predaking (Platinum), Abominus (TFP:BH), and Piranacon (BBTS etc. exclusive). Unite Warriors Grand Galvatron should be showing up next month. Bring on Trypticon!

I tolerate Blaster's existence? He doesn't look terrible, maybe a little puffy but... eh.

Blaster and Soundwave look good, but not "gotta have 'em" good. Maybe down the road when I have more income. PMOP looks really good, and I hope some enterprising third party creates a transforming cab for him that maintains his existing aesthetic (they could ditch the headmaster storage if need be). I want one for Magnus as well, just as an added feature, not because I don't love how they both transform without removing the cabs.

Blaster does look fairly good and is a great representation of the character to me. And Powermaster Prime is an exceptional retool of Magnus that really works with the truck and trailer design

Can't really comment on Blaster as I'd like to see him in hand first but PM OP ... I think he looks fantastic.

Your reservations though, could they stem from the fact you didn't grow up with an original PM OP? He was a pretty good figure back in the day and from what I've seen he looks like a great update.

Plus he's built from CW Magnus so that's a big plus. Give him a go before you add or strike him from your list of things you're never going to buy.

Yeah, I'm holding out for some nice color images of the Takara Tomy versions of Blaster and Soundwave. They look promising, but Hasbro's more sparse paint apps and decidedly non-screen accurate and often weird/obscure color choices (yellow chest window for Blaster, yellow eyes for Soundwave, etc.) tend to bug me. Powermaster Optimus Prime is looking good, but he's not a "must have" for me, as I have what I consider a definitive Classics Optimus Prime already (Cloud Optimus Prime with wind vane from Evolutions 2-pack prime, smoke stacks from Henkei prime, and rifle and axe from Generations Orion Pax). Again, if Takara really nails the deco with some extra paint detail, I may have to bite, but until then, I'm going to practice some restraint this round. I couldn't help myself and bought up a LOT of the Combiner Wars combiners before their Unite Warriors releases and ended up selling off the Hasbro versions later. This time, I'm going to pick one release and be done, even if it means I have to wait longer.

Same here. Wait is killing me but will be worth it.

I like the updated pmop, and I like how much they went to town on him making him look different and I can't wait to see Takara bring on Super Ginrai. Also can't forget the godbomber rumours!

I don't mind blaster but I probably won't be adding him to my collection, pmop I can justify the space but that's about it, currently in have extremely limited storage space.

But yeah I'm really interested to see what Takara will do with PM prime. Especially if the rumor that they're doing God Bomber is true. The only thing I don't really care for is the hollowness of the trailer, but that's a sacrifice for being a retool of Magnus. I'm actually impressed the base mode is as decent as it is because of this fact.

As for Blaster.... he'll probably be my stand "MP" until we get an official one. I just wish he used actual casettes instead of those datapads, i'll deal for the cross-play. Especially since rewind is pretty legit.

Generally speaking, truck trailers are supposed to be hollow. A dense trailer ain't gonna carry much cargo.

This is true, but that gap right behind the cab is a bit on the nose.... I do wish the side panels of the trucks formed ramps like the original.

Personally, I still want PM OP even though I have what I consider my perfect Classics Optimus - that being, uh, Classics Optimus. Mostly because I see him as being Optimus from a different era (because he is), sort of like how I'd display both a Megatron and a Galvatron. I display Optimus with the 84 guys, PM Optimus with the 88 guys.

As for Blaster, I love him to pieces, but that's just me.

I actually really want PMOP, simply because the original one was the first Prime toy I ever got as a child. There is actually a really good life lesson that goes with that story, but I'll save it for another day. If it wasn't for that, I'd be skipping him based on my no repaint (unless that is how it was in original media) rule. Nostalgia over rules principle. I don't even think it's that great a retool, I still just see Ultra Magnus, but it's PMOP so......

The base mode is where it all comes down for me, since thats why they are laeders afterall. The whole idea of Titans Return is to have Titan Masters that interact in all sorts of ways, like with bases and we need big bots for bases. I think the Soundwave and Blaster bases arent bad and I think Blaster's robot mode looks really good. It looks like Blaster. The same cant be said for Soundwave who looks off being this bulky. And Blaster's alt mode is much better. A very nice homage to his G1 self, moreso than Soundwave who is somthing else entirely and, once again, it looks off. I will only get one of these two and Blaster feels better wth all his modes but I have a tough time with that ugly grey brown plastic being used. And a leader Soudwave would look better in my collection next to Leader Megs and Leader Starscream. Unless Blaster would take them on instead, I dont know.

As for PMOP, I really dislike that base mode. It looks like a fan mode. And quite frankly, the fans mode made from Ultra Magnus looks better since it takes advantage of his shins becoming ramps.



And I feel Ultra Magnus works better with this mold even if he would have come after (just like Astrotrain looks better even if he comes after Sentinel). Actually, Prime Beast Hunters Ultra Magnus looked way better than the Prime that original sculpt was made for. All this to say that I can look at both toys and say with no bias that I feel Ultra Magnus works better with this mode. He doesnt attempt a base mode, and it shows why.

Long story short, it's all about the base (for this line) and I will get either Soundwave or Blaster (probably Blaster) and not PMOP. Unless of course there is an extra trailer released taht can combine with him, but the more i think of it, the less it seems likely to happen.
