Also why does it matter about the fiction with regards to the toys? Imagination allows us to change these toys to who we want them to be, don't like galvatron as a headmaster? Fine, it can be megatron who pilots a huge lifeless body that looks like galvatron.

Thats an ideology I prescribe to as well. And its what Hasbro wants from the people buying these toys, to just have fun and enjoy the product for what it is.

As to your question, titan masters are just smaller bots and cons that combine with them. Like minicons. I dont know if its a race they discovered, more like a type of transformer. What I like is that the small robots finally have their own names instead of both the complete robot and the small robot being headmasters.

Oh unfortunately incorrect there, Cullen has stated that G1 Prime was John Wayne. Then as he got older for the movies he realised that speaking closer to his brother was a little bit easier and more suited. Nice try though.

Sentinel Zeta had a gigantic avatar similar to a power suit in wfc. He got in something it increased his size and power.

Well the marvel comics stuff has been pretty much scrubbed and the toy commercials don't amount to something. So with Sentinel having been shown in a fair bit of media utilizing a power suit I'm going to go ahead and say that's that. A headmaster he has not been in any media previously which is where my issue lies.

They follow the games for wfc and foc and most designs are seen in the official comics which are official fiction.

Firstly, I mentioned games. The WFC and FOC toys were in junction with the games. But the Genrations toys since then are very much their own thing and they are toys first. Hasbro doesnt make toys about the comics' fiction, they will make fiction about the toys. The toys are the primary source of branding here, not the comics. Also, just because toys look similar to another design does not make then that same version of the character.

Case in point: Brainstorm.

This is not IDW Brainstorm but he does look like that.



The designer even said he made him look like that, because he thought that looked good. But he's still not IDW brainstorm because in IDW, Fort Max is large but not a titan.

But he is in the fiction that this Brainstorm comes from, you can see his sword and his fingers in the back:


So there you have it, proof that the toys are their own thing and just because they look like comic versions doesnt mean they are.

Maybe you don't read the comics but the majority of generations stuff in recent years has appeared in the comics. They had the combiner war shoe horned into IDW to sell toys and this will be the very same I believe. The toys are definitely not their own thing .

The comics fiction is secondary. When Hasbro makes these toys, the last thing they think about is "how will we explain this in the fiction for the fans". Instead they think "what cool looking stuff will kids want to buy". The fiction is ancillary to the point that Hasbro has clarified that not everything you see in the TR line will be explained in the fiction. They care so little, the fiction you are referring to (IDW) is licensed. If you think they made a generations toy of Scoop because they wanted to use him in the comics, you are fooling yourself.

Some times there's been the case where idw have used generations designs and some generations have definitely been inspired by idw.


By the by, you say sentinel was never a headmaster, but how do you feel about the fact that it will now probably be a central element in his resurrection, I mean that's a common trope isn't it, bad guys coming back in new and stronger forms?

Plus you so seem to be ignoring a lot of what's been said, does it really matter in the grand scheme of things that these guys are now part of the line wide gimmick? Don't these toys look like real fun figures to mess around and play with?

Let us not forget the single most important truth here, despite what fiction will be wrapped around them. These are children's toys, the same as G1 was in the day, and beast wars etc, etc. They are what we make of them.

As I said, if you don't like the way they look (like proportion wise, the way the alt mode looks, that sort of thing), or the colours then that's fine but don't look down on them just because you're tied up in the fiction

Weeellll..... there was that one episode of Animated where the Headmaster unit cut off Sentinel's head and took over his body. Optimus spent the entire episode ripping into him for it. So technically, there has been one version of Sentinel that was temporarily a Headmaster.


As for characters who were not headmasters like Scourge abd Blurr, I'm just gonna say their titan master parts are their holo avatars when in alt mode. Keep the specialness of the actual Headmasters quad/trio groups.
