Re: Transformers Titans Return Product Reveals, News, Updates, Rumors, Leaks and more!
So, am I the only one that has Broadside, but left the itty-bitty aerialbots on their spru (sprue, sprew)? They are a nice touch, but I really have no use for them since I mainly display everything in robot mode and don't want to lose them.

I've left them on their sprue as well for now. I don't wanna risk losing them.
It'll be very interesting to see what Takara Tomy will do with Broadside. If they include the Aerialbots, which I would assume they would, will they go to the trouble of trying to paint them up a bit? They've already shown they're not shy about doing some nice paint detailing on the tiny Titan Master faces so far with their recent Transformers Legends releases.

I've taken mine off the sprue simply because I'm not the kind of guy to pass up a potential play feature. Sure most of the time they're just sitting there on my desk (and I somehow haven't lost any yet, though I'm probably tempting fate by saying that), but every once in a while when I put Broady into aircraft carrier mode - or "jet" mode, now that I've noticed the pegs in that mode - it's fun to position the Aerialbots all around and make it feel more like a populated and functional vehicle.
But yeah, I can understand not wanting to take them off if you don't have that compulsive need to try every available play feature. As long as you're enjoying your toy how you want, that's what counts!

At the very least, I imagine they'd paint each Aerialbot the right general color (i.e. red/white for Fireflyight, grey/black for Skydive, etc). I don't know if they'd do much finer detailing than that (remembering, of course, that these Aerialbots are way smaller than even TMs, and HasTak often has some trouble with paint precision even at the best of times), but it's always possible. At the very least, I think Takara will either paint each 'bot the right basic color, or just not include them at all - after all, they're non-integral and non-G1. Maybe they'd swap them out for a new-tooling axe or something? Who knows.
Anyways, I've just run my routine sweep of my local stores, and it looks like they're all getting ready to restock post-Easter! Two of the three don't have any new TFs but there are lots of employees going 'round with huge carts of boxes restocking various toys, so I imagine it's just a matter of time. But the third store... the third store, when I walked in, just BAM had a Voyager Megatron and Optimus on the shelf!
Well, technically the Optimus was in the process of being taken by a boy, but the point stands. I would've LOVED to grab that Megs right then and there - he's probably one of my most anticipated TR figures from the past few months if I'm being honest - but I already have an online preorder, from way back in December. A preorder which still says "March ETA", and for which I still haven't received any kind of shipping notice or word whatsoever. Bleh.
But, yeah! Being optimistic. Wave 3 Voyagers, spotted at Kmart, they're probably making their way around Australia as I speak type. With any luck Wave 4 Deluxes/Legends/Titan Masters aren't too far behind, since I've been seeing Wave 3 of each of those classes for a while now. Fingers crossed!
Also I absolutely wasn't going to get that Optimus but his deco just looked delicious in person. If I see another one around, I might end up getting it on top of Octane and probably boxset-G2-Prime. No I don't have a problem.

I hafta admit, Qwan, G2 boxset Prime is more fun than expected! But no replacement for the original.

Ooh, he does look lovely. Those golden-orange stickers actually look really nice on the back of his legs!
The original plan was to leave mass-retail Optimus on the shelf, get Octane to replace the tired old U2.0 Deluxe, and then get G2 Prime with the rest of the boxset. But a combination of geography and laziness means I'm not too sure if I'm going to get that boxset any more, and regular OP just looked so great in person despite the fact that I already planned on having the base mold twice (including one (basically) same-character straight-redeco!) that I'm starting to reconsider. In a perfect world, I'll get Octane and the Velocitron set, and never see OP-classic again so I'm not tempted; but Plan B is probably gonna be ending up with all three of them now.

Gotta say, Skids' death didn't do anything for me. But that's because I knew his days were numbered.
He was dead the moment he stole brainstorm's girl.

But his death hit me too, Nemesis Maximo -- I'm still hoping there's someway he isn't gone, but I don't think so.

And LE0KING, Brainstorm's girl?!? I guess it would have been quite a love triangle -- if Brainstorm had Skids' moves.

Ravage got to me the most. Those three panels of Soundwave...

Ravage did get me more than Skids. While I like Skids, he did help bring about a mass killing.

To be fair, a jaguar is probably the hardest shape to finagle out of a flat shape, out of the "main three". Robots? Eh, they're pretty much tall flat things with knees and elbows. Birds? Bit of chunk in the middle but they're like 70% flat wings. Jaguar? You can see where the problem arises.
(I totally agree though that it's disappointing to see Ravage almost always end up with the 'short reel of the cassette', so to speak. Unpopular opinion I guess, I love his MP figure and so I have my "perfect" Ravage, but for someone who doesn't have/like that figure I imagine it'd be even more annoying.)

I like how the MP and Universe versions look, but the problem for me is that they're really small. While it is a really neat and cool thing that they keep making the Cassettes the size of actual real mini-cassettes and hence also compatible with a lot of Soundwaves, it does start to get to the point of frustration of not having a Ravage that both looks good and is the right size.

TR Ravage was definitely disappointing!
Ravage (and Soundwave!) are two of my absolute faves, so I can't say their TR incarnations did much for me -- of course, I skipped this Soundwave and bought dat MP reissue from Asia....
I do wonder what other new characters from the comics will get a figure next!

Even so, one dimension is still pretty compromised on that figure. I mean it was certainly impressive for the time, and still isn't bad per se, but it is a very flat jaguar. In fact, TR Ravage kind of takes that same compromise and flips it 90 degrees - now he's a table instead of a cutout!

If youlike the look of the MP ravage, MMC did a Ravage based on the mp cassette but at the size of a full cassette. Looks sweet and in scale to mp robot modes.

Yeah back when season 2 started nautica was a bit of a brainstorm fangirl. Till the whole time travel/under the mask reveal.
She stormed out during his trial and brainstorm upgraded her wrench as an apology. After that they kinda drifted apart and skids stepped in.
The best ravage toy is the one with a functional usb drive. You can get it on ebay for cheap.

As much as I preferred the Skids x Nautica pairing, I also got nothing but love for 'Storm.

Oh man, I had totally blanked on the Device Label one! I always thought he looked really pretty - just the right proportions and chunkiness for a Ravage in my opinion (and probably even better for SG Ravage)!
But... "cheap"? The cheapest one I can see on eBay is 60 USD plus shipping... not exactly what I'd call a fantastic deal, even if it is probably the best Ravage ever and turns into a real USB and has a cool desktop program on it. (...Well, I guess the awful-looking KOs are pretty dirt-cheap, but that kind of undermines the purpose of getting probably the best-looking Ravage ever, doesn't it?)

RIP George Michael & Skids
In Loving Memory of Saxophones...
But his death hit me too, Nemesis Maximo -- I'm still hoping there's someway he isn't gone, but I don't think so.
And LE0KING, Brainstorm's girl?!? I guess it would have been quite a love triangle -- if Brainstorm had Skids' moves.
I've been meaning to get one of those! And I just pulled the trigger for $5.99

I was considering using some extra 'Con sticker I have on the flap of Brainstorm's G1 Headmaster for the sake of him being a double-agent...but perhaps I should just buy his TR incarnation.

I have the black and white ko it's 16 gig and well made. Worth the 5 or 6 bucks. You can get a smaller capacity one for even less.
And as a bonus he works with TR soundwave. Barely, but he fits.
