The closest Walmart to me has had the same Deluxes since December. They brought in a massive display for christmas shopping with Wave 1 and Wave 2. Literally hundreds of the figures. They are down to about 30-40 of the wave 1 guys left. Usually this Walmart is pretty good with stocking figures, but that definitely prevents them from carrying more TR stuff.

Now I have to finish the God Bomber order separately. I guess its ok because both these items are sold out, but the purpose to save on shipping was circumvented...

I actually got my email just in time to call when I saw it was shipping, and with $12 shipping too!

I managed to get it into my pile of loot and ship it yesterday morning for the standard $4 shipping. It was close. Apparently I screwed up how to put a pre-order in the pile of loot.

On a plus, I finally found Shuffler and Repugnus. I love them both, though Shuffler is my favorite :D

Why not both?

You say you want Kup but I presume he just isn't a priority at the moment?

Yeah. For me, I need to balance out a bit.

On the Decepticon side I've only got Terri-Bull, Fracas, and Scourge and these Autobots keep enticing me when I already have Loudmouth, Titan Master Brawn, Clobber (he's Grimlock to me!), Ptero (he's Swoop to me!), Sawback, Wheelie (worst. figure. ever?), Legends Class Brawn, Bumblebee, Furos, Hardhead, Xort, Highbrow, Walgreens Teslor, Walgreens Brainstorm, Laser Optimus Prime, Orion Pax.

..ok maybe more than a bit.

I'm actively hunting Walgreens for the Wingspan/Cloudraker set, and will probably pick up Blowpipe and Triggerhappy then Aimless and Misfire next. I found Brainstorm at multiple Walgreens so I keep checking those same ones.

Now it looks like I'm talking to myself - but some feedback on Prime Wars Trilogy.

Above are all the Titans Returns (I'm counting Orion Pax) toys I have.

I've also got the complete box sets of G2 Menasor (Blackjack, Brake-Neck, Breakdown, Dead End, Dragstrip, Motormaster), G2 Superion (Air Raid, Firefly, Powerglide, Quickslinger, Silverbolt, Skydive), Battle Core Optimus Prime, Rook, First Aid, Streetwise, Prowl, Ironhide, Strafe, Lightsteed, Sky Lynx, Onslaught, Swindle, Offroad, and Fellbat. Oh I just realized I have Ultra Magnus too but he's the only one still in box for my Ultra Magnus collection (all-time favorite as a kid).

I'm having way more fun with Titans Return.

Maybe it's sentimental reasons - when I was getting Combiner Wars figures, my son was barely 1 and not even into Rescue Bots yet. Now that he's 2 going on 3 and wanting to pull down toys from my display, I've been sharing Titans Returns figures with him. Highbrow's transformation is so simple that my son does that by himself now.

I too am preffering Titans Return and I can pinpoint as to why: more original and distinctive transformations. Its not the fault of CW, but things had to end up a certain way and thats how it was in g1 as well. But of course, more diversified transformations make for more fun for me :)

I'm pretty sure I put my order in before they even started the $4 thing, but a couple of weeks back I noticed that's what mine was set to ship with, which was fine by me, I don't even remember what I'd planned for. I wasn't planning to POL it, I'm much too impatient when I don't even have anything else on order for the near future.

It might not be you to blame for "screwing up" the POL, probably some glitch from the recent site redesign. Least that's where I'd put the blame if it happened to me!

Now the waiting.

While I enjoyed CW more because it catered to my favorite aspects of the whole genre, I can completely understand this. From 1985-1989 the combiners were just a small portion of what was released each year, with plenty of other individual figures in the mix with a variety of gimmicks and sub groups. But CW gave us the majority of them all at once (which I loved btw...), with only a few Legends and Leader class that had no CW integration. While TR does heavily rely on the Titan Master Gimmick, having "one size head fits all" was a nice touch along all size classes, and still allowed for greater diversity.

It's amazing to me to think that PotP, will basically be a *catch all* for the other two lines, as well as establishing its own brand, and is still highly anticipated by many fans. Of course while what Hasbro revealed at SDCC was met with mostly a *meh* to mildly positive response, what was leaked the next day certainly pushed that way up into the highly anticipated range.

His point is, Hasbro is mostly fulfilling their end, shipping the toys to both the B&M and online retailers pretty close to their schedule. It is the distribution within the stores that has the most trouble that a consumer would see. The Walmart near me has not re-stocked TR deluxe since around Christmas. In that time Hasbro has shipped product to Walmart in the US as evidenced by other Walmarts having some in stock. That is not Hasbro's fault, it is Walmart. Hasbro can just deliver the toys, not force the retailers to actually distribute and stock them on the shelves.

I'm not saying Hasbro hasn't had any delays on their end, but the majority of what a consumer will see as lacking in a physical store is the store's fault, not Hasbro.

The online retailers do get the stock in and are one of the best gauges for when Hasbro is releasing things. If the toys make it to the online retailers, then you can be pretty sure that Hasbro is producing on their end. If the B&M stores don;t have them in stock, it is likely because they are backed up on previous waves from a lack of sales and aren't ordering more, or they are like my Walmart and simply refuse to restock for whatever reason.

In the case of my Walmart, it is definitely Walmart. The entire toy section has been basically ignored since Christmas. That is definitely not Hasbro.

Why would that be hasbro's fault and not the retailer for not ordering enough? Plus, we have a bunch of people complaining that retailers are ordering too much and cry out shelfwarming left and right, so I really cant make heads or tails with your country's woes.

Maybe canada does well because they have a better understanding of how many toys to order.

And that has nothing to do with hasbro. hasbro takes the order and fulfills it. The distribution is at the retailer level. I really do not understand how it could be the other way around.

Look, I will break it down simply. I used to run a comic book store and I knew batman was popular so I ordered a ton of batman stuff. We were always well stocked on batman because I made sure they were ordered. Everything we had in store was dependent on me ordering it in time. DC had nothing to do with my store being well stocked in batman comics. They were only responsible in fulfilling my order. Same as hasbro. thats it.

if you are seeing a problem at your local store, then why isnt it your store's problem? That makes no sense.

Yeah, my walmarts toy sections are decimated. There's pretty much only some TLK Voyager Grimlocks and few random TR figures. Mostly Highbrow and Chromedome. I did see Wave 4 deluxes at one of them once since Christmas. But that's the only new stuff they've gotten since then beside movie stuff.

Hasbro is not like Lego, who controls their own aisles religiously. When a Walmart needs more Transformers stock, they send their order to their district supplier. District makes the choice of sending them hopefully the newest stuff first that they have. When District get. Low, they place an order with regional. Regional gets from Corporate, wholooks at the number of TFs sold and decides how many of the next set of Offerings Hasbro has, which is usually the most current wave or the most current plus the revision wave. Hasbro usually doesnt have a lot of extra, they try to only make what the stores typically demand. Sometimes a wave is super successful and they get it wrong. Or Walmart doesnt push things down the chain fast enough. Sometimes District over orders the first two waves. We end up missing Wave 3, or it gets pushed back, because District is overloaded on Wave 1 and 2 so they dont order more from Regional. They have to sell throughbwhat they have, either in store or through liquidation. Sometimes those oversales will then skipvtp Wave 4, but when Wave 4 runs out the left over W3 sneaks back to the front that shouldvhave gone out first.

Whatever happens, omce Hasbro turns that order over to Walmart Corporate, its out of their hands. There is nothing they can do to change anything store by store. They simply dont operare that way. Places like Amazon where their distributions are all interconnected and onbthe same level can put waves out simultaneously. And web stores like BBTS who only have one warehouse are the same. Even comic stores are more flexible, as they can sometimes order specifically the wave t
Fro their supplier, who gets it from someone who gets it from Hasbro. But Hasbro has zero influence on what the end chain of stores sell. And usually, no one there is following "toys", unless a manager is a Collector. So they dont know whats "New." They arent tracking individual figures or even Waves, so they cant see that W4 sold like that and W3 is still sitting.

Do you feel that will change with the PotP combiners? Lots of beast transformers, plus the vehicle formers have different play patterns/feels.

After having them shelved for a while, I took out my UW Computron, and I love those guys, and it feels refreshing to tinker with both CW style and TR style figures together.

You know, I wouldn't mind seeing a news article CW vs TR. Best in each class compared.

I see TR winning most of the categories (Trypticon is almost a given to me, plus Wheelie/Brawn/Seaspray at the Legends level, the other categories would be interesting though), but I wouldn't mind seeing what everyone else feels are the best representations of each. Also, would be interesting to see what everyone thought the worst was.

The one part of the supply/distribution issues that is pretty much on Hasbro is the name of the line. Since everything technically is under the Generations umbrella, some of the stores got a late start on TR because of existing stock of CW. Most stores would view CW Dragstrip as the same toy as TR Slugslinger despite them being separated by 10 waves in between because both are generations deluxe figures.

That is one change Hasbro could have made (change up the name of the line) that might have lead stores to discounting leader Skywarp quite a bit earlier than they did because to the stores, he was a current toy (generations leader class).

Just to shed some light on this, I know that at Toysrus, the Generations line is not all encompassing. There is a different SKN number for deluxes in Titans Return compared to deluxes in Combiner Wars. So at the store level when ordering and indexing, they are considered different toys from different lines. And that explains why wave 1 of Titans Return appeared all across the states at both Walmart and TRU within less than a week of the first sighting. It was a big bang of new product. But within each line, then yeah its totally as you say.

Its not the fault of CW, but things had to end up a certain way and thats how it was in g1 as well. But of course, more diversified transformations make for more fun for me :)

I do feel it will change with PotP since animals are more diversifired and diferent to one another than vehicles. I am really curious how it will all work out actually. And just like you, I too recently picked up Scattershot again to play around a bit with him. They are fun toys.

I dont know about a specific article like that but my next top list does involve a look back on the Combiner Wars line. Cheers!

I think part of why Canada and some other countries have better distribution is because they are much smaller in population, and thus easier to fulfill supply/demand. Also lack of news in general doesn't help.

We were all told that Hasbro's Kreon line would go to TRU (in the Unites Dtates) exclusively in 2014. We wer enot told however how long that arrangement would be for, or if it were dependant upon sales, thus when new Kreon toys were coming out in 2015, and nowhere to be fond in the U.S....you can understand why fans here would be frustrated.

Now I will say I am pretty fortunate. Sure I have vented in recent months, but I can honestly say between a dozen Targets and Wal Marts and 3 TRU within a relatively short distance, I've seen every TR release so far with the exception of Ramhorn, Overlord, wave 5 Deluxes, & Wave 5 Voyagers. Trypticon I know has been in the area, I just missed it...(another rant on that may come later)

But correct me if I am wrong, but I thought ordering was driven by sales. If someone purchases 3 TR Deluxe figures at "Store X", 3 more automatically get ordered...Now I know Hasbro has no control over which 3...that is up to "Store X's" distributor...thus why you see odd things like one Local Wal-Mart getting 4 CW Leader Skywarps AFTER selling TR PM Prime & Blaster....and as I stated in another thread, the last CW Leader Skywarp is still there, now clearance for $10, and as a result, that particular store has had no new TR Leaders in this calendar year, thank goodness I have several other stores to choose from. If this was my ONE Wal Mart yeah, I'd be SOL for sure.
Bucket/Want List: Botcon 2016 Customization Class Ratchet (G2 Deco), or Customization Class Ratchet (Marvel Comics Deco) **would also be willing to pay for an Unpainted Botcon 2016 Ratchet, TT Legends Fortress Head (only) with working Electronics

I too believe that has a lot to do with it. But that just shows that what you would preffer can happen if the US was better organized for this. There are greater obstacles but the desired result is not unatainable.

thanks! That shows that having 3 TF lines sharing the same shelf space did not affect you being able to get the toys you wanted at retail.

I dont think it works that way. Ordering is not automatic. Hasbro produces figures according to orders so they need orders in advance. Hence why you see toys in the retailer's system 6 months before they actually can be found at retail. So orders are instead based on anticipated sales. What you are describing is a "just in time" system and the fact that retailers have more of the same toys taking up space in the back means they are not using that system.

Thats an excellent deal on Skywarp by the way, if you dont already have him I would recomend it :)

So if you're thinking about skipping Twin Twist because you already have Topspin(I know, I know, some people only want 1 version of a mold. I don't understand) don't! He's awesome! I like him better than Topspin. I had the G1 version as a kid, so I might have some nostalgia clouding my judgement, but there's just something about this figure that is really awesome. Also, my Topspin's gripped his guns very loosely. I noticed Twin Twist gripped his tightly. Swapped guns. No more loosey goosey for Topspin and Twin Twist grips Topspin's guns very nicely as well.

I am sure orders are suggested by an end of day sales report, but I am also sure the final decision comes from a store's stock supervisor or whatever. For one thing, they aren't just looking at gow many sold, but how fast and how many are left. 3 sold of 4 is different than 3 out of 15, just as 3 of those 15 selling in an hour or two days.

I'm not entirely sure which line I've had more fun with -- I liked them a lot, and I think they might be about the same for me. Admittedly, it kinda helps that I don't have as many CW stuff as everybody else -- Bruticus, Victorion, Defensor; and then Sky Lynx, Alpha Bravo, Offroad, Viper, Prowl and Mirage. And a few Legends that aren't part of the play pattern like Buzzsaw and Windcharger. So I only really started suffering mold fatigue on my most recent purchase - Prowl - helping me to enjoy the figures a lot more since it's not necessarily my 57th version of the mold.

So when it comes to diverse molds, CW ironically comes neck-and-neck at TR for me. I'm not saying that's how it actually is, of course not; that'd be ridiculous. Just that in my personal experience I got new molds from CW at the same rate as TR.

TR is certainly a lot more inventive though; CW's innovations only really came from the Voyager torsos and I guess maybe sort of Rook but not terribly so. TR's deluxes hence kind of end up impressing me a lot more.

God, I don't know where I'm going with this post, I'm just saying whatever comes into my mind now. I like both! Yay!

He looks amazing. As this was my very first TF ever, there is a strong nostalgia factor here, and I don't have to worry about the drills breaking off  . But you all know I have an OCD when it comes to a running theme in my collection. I would love to be one of those fans that can do a "one-off" but its a slippery slope. I cant do it for fear I'll just say the heck with it and have to get all the TR deluxes. But I can admire the photos online. :APPLAUSE:

If it helps, I like to categorize the releases in "groups", based on their portrayal in fiction, gimmick of current or past toys, and the like. So far I have:

- G1 Headmasters
- Headmaster Jrs. (Nightbeat, Loudmouth, Fangry, Terri-Bull, Crashbash... where's Hosehead?!)
- Headmaster Warriors (like Sawback, Shuffler and Toraizer, I may chuck Ramhorn in there too)
- G1 Targetmasters (Triggerhappy and his retools)
- Triple Changers
- Jumpstarters

That way, it will mitigate the compulsion of "getting them all", since in a sense, you are getting a whole group. In terms of "one-off", Windblade is perfect since she doesn't really belong to any group... except "Female Transformers"... with Arcee and Nautica... dammit! :BANG_HEAD:
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

- Jelze Bunnycat =:3

Looking for:
- TR Furos (Hardhead's head) and Crashbash (lost him :()
- PotP Punch head
- TR Galvatron right arm (the gun one)
- CW Brake-Neck/UW Wildrider, CW Offroad
- TR Twinferno & Grotusque
- Greenlight, Lancer and PotP Elita-1
- Legacy Core Slug, Sludge & Snarl
