It does look like some of the 3rd party HM offerings may be able to work with these. That's pretty cool.
I wonder if Hasbro will release some version of Gasket & Grommet to go with Fort Max? An updated version of those two that combine would be really cool.

well i was half expecting a Scamper repaint as Cog! seeing as they're using the Metroplex mold for Fort Max
I think people need to shut up about Fort Max being a remold of Metroplex. I personally think it it's a similar case to Titans Return Cromedome, it's so different we can't exactly call it a remold. I own Generations Metrookex, and I can personally say for experience that Fortress Maximus Appears very different from Metroplex. It seem only part of the lower legs, the forearms, and the ramps are shared between the two of them. That's what makes me think it's same situation as Cromedome.
Not really the same thing. Fort max is undoubtedly a remold of Metroplex, there's no denying that. Chromedome simply shares engineering with Deadend and THAT'S IT. If anything needs to be dropped it's the Chromedome Deadend thing.

The Cromedome/Dead End thing is pretty stupid too. I agree with you on that, but I just personally don't think that Fortress Naximus is a retool of Metroplex. They're likely just similar figures that share a few parts. Hasbro has done that kinda thing before, I believe, so my theory is possible.
william-james88 wrote:If ever Sabrblade decides to go on vacation, I am glad to know we can rely on you.
No they're not. Dead End's thighs look to be longer and have thigh swivels in the upper thigh closer to the waist, while Chromedome's thighs look to be shorter and have thigh swivels in the middle of the thighs closer to the knees. And their thighs are shaped differently.kurthy wrote:I think you guys are trying to say the same. I think they use the exact same transformation scheme but only one or two parts are the same.
1. The knees to the waist are the same.
But then that would the lower arms would have to be shorter, which would remove the inner space needed for the fists to rotate into the arms. Yet, Chromedome's fists do rotate into his arms, so the arms can't be Dead End's if Chromedome's arms can do what would prevent Dead End's fists from folding into the arms.kurthy wrote:3. The chromedome mold has the door panel stop at the wrist rather than halfway down the forearm. This means that the feet can take the space where the lower forearms would go.
The only similarity that those parts have between Dead End and Chromedome is that their wheels are wheels, their crotches are crotches, their knees are knees, etc. etc.kurthy wrote:By my count there are 17 shared parts (4 are wheels). Crotch, hips, knees, clavicles, and the parts connecting the front end to the back.
Will, I am not stating any opinion. I am stating what I see based on careful observations of the Chromedome photos, the Dead End figure I have on hand, and the comparisons I have made between the two, in which I can definitely say that, while the two share similar aesthetics and design elements, I see no base parts that are indentically sculpted between the two figure beyond some minuscule rudimentary components (namely joints) that are shared across many figures that Hasbro/TakaraTomy have developed. This is not my opinion, but it is my observation.william-james88 wrote:Thats not a source that just your opinion based on what you qualify as a retool.

It is evident that Fort Max began as Metroplex's mold as a base, but was so extensively modified from that point to become so thoroughly, extensively different from Metroplex in the long run. For these kinds of figure, "reshell" might be the more apt term.DigitalBrave3 wrote:Doctor McGrath wrote:Also, remold isn't a derogatory term. I never said it was a bad thing. I really like CW Dead End and his many retools, so Cromedome having similar engineering exites me. I just don't think Fortress Maximus is a retool of Metroplex.

That couldn't be further from the truth. The groin is the same but backwards, the forearms and feet are the same but the shoulders, shins and thighs are remolded and the torso is completely new

I own Metroplex, and I can totally confirm that Fort Max's crotch is Metroplex's crotch put on backwards.

They even kept the pivot hinge the right arm is now attached to (formerly the left), which, by the way, doesn't even seem to serve a purpose for him now...
I can plainly see that it is significantly different now, but, lets not go and pull one over ourselves if he really is metro facing another direction

Metro is way too thin to be the same as Fort max.

I never liked the twerp, but he does indeed look thoroughly impressive, I might even get him![]()
But as far as 'cool as it gets', I'm siding with Alpha Trion, who is now my new Sky Reign (bet'cha never thought that would be a thing)

Still a remold though that's something we know.

RID 2015 has Legion class toys.DigitalBrave3 wrote:BERSEKAEL wrote:no legion class?
They stopped making Legion Class figures after Prime ended. Perhaps you mean Legends Class? In that case, Wheelie, Rumble, And Stripes are all Legends Class figures.
