I understand your dislike for those who weren't headmasters such as Blurr and Scourge What about for the characters that were originally headmasters or haven't had an update since their first original toy or even those who have never had a toy before (Sentinel) are you not excited for them?

No, not really. Sentinel is just a repaint to me. Ironically, though the headmaster gimmick on non Headmasters annoys me, Blurr and Astrotrain are two figures I'm looking forward to. Hardhead is too small, and I'll reserve judgement on Chromedome and Rewind till I see them in hand. I love the characters thanks to IDW, but I'm not sold on these plastic versions yet.

Over all I feel the design quality to be cheap. This, I fully aknowlage, is a result from being spoiled by Masterpiece and 3rd party figures. That said, Hasbro is fully capable of making better, and that's all I can think of when I see these. I know some say it's not a fair comparison and they are right. Hasbro is a multi billion dollar company, 3rd party market is needs in basements with 3D printers. The only reason Hasbro doesn't produce better figures is because the consuming public accepts lesser for the same money. Gah.

TL:DR, no I'm not excited.

You could always become a has brought shareholder and try to get them to change ;-) let's face it, in the face of rising costs those at the top aren't going to cut their profit margins while there's other things they can make cheaper. Given time even those who make third party stuff will succumb to greed and cut corners >:oP

I totally feel ya, I even had that with cw - however, I enjoy combiners, so I wasn't too put off by the line - maybe hasbro should stick to those that had headmasters, and then... wait for it... make up new characters that are headmasters

Or dig into the bottom of the barrel, like the really late g1 micromasters. Update them, and give them characters, instead of recycling the same trash I didn't want in the first place >:oP

This I agree with.

Hasbro you want to know why no one gives too much of a darn about character's that aren't the usual Prime, Bee, Ratceht, Arcee, Sideswipe, Jazz, Big green guy team it's because you don't use these other characters that haven't been used since the original G1 toyline and their couple issue Marvel comic appearances their not developed or relevant hence no one cares about them.

Agree much. It would have been nice if Hardhead was a Voyager. However, the guy who really needs to be a Voyager is Scourge. If he was a Voyager, he would both be in scale with Galvatron and Cyclonus, and he might have a helmet to give his head better proportions. Also, I totally see where you're coming from with Astrotrain and Blurr. Looking at images of all of the TR Headmasters, Hyperfire has the best proportions out of all of them (maybe besides Hardhead and Skullcruncher), and his legs are the same color as the face, to boot (another trait shared with Skullcruncher). And Astrotrain has needed a Voyager mold for a while.

While I haven't handled any 3p figures to say for sure, all of the MP's I have (MC Grimlock, Hasbro Prowl, and Hasbro Sunstorm), Grimlock especially, are higher quality than the normal figures. Though I suppose that is due to the fact that they are intended for collectors.

Ironhidensh wrote:TL:DR, no I'm not excited.

Quite the opposite for me. Since Transformers was never a part of my main childhood (The first Transformer I ever bought was FOC Jazz), I have no attachment to a character in a particular form. Thus, I'm okay with changes like making Prime a Combiner or Blaster a Headmaster. And since Combiners and Headmasters are cool gimmicks, I can appreciate whatever characters utilize said gimmick.

AWESOME!

Most likely this will be for Titans Return and not RID, because I don't think that if there'll be another Prime in the show he would get a role important enought to make a toy out of him. It would be like Alpha Trion in Transformers Prime, I guess. Or Micronus in RID right now.
But also I could be tremendously wrong. :-P
I wouldn't rule RID out just yet since Vector Prime previously did appear in episode 25 of season 1. Voiced by Troy Baker, even.

If they wanted to, they could have him reappear and scan a new, more toyetic-looking form to work him in better.

Honestly, if it weren't for the fact that the plastic Hasbro uses nowadays is nowhere near up to par with the stuff used in 2005, I'd say they should just reissue Cybertron Vector Prime. AFAIK he's a great toy that still holds up well today. If they released him in the Platinum line with proper plastic and an extensive paintjob that detailed all of that lovely sculpted detail I'd buy it.

Don't you also mean the plastic used back in the 80's?

but your right! coz the plastic used on Energon Unicron was very good, & on Primus too. ;)

Times change and materials will enable reworked to find a better balance so that the profit margins can still be maintained.

Basically if you want better plastic create a strong formula that costs a fraction of what they are using now :-P all this complaining about it will sadly not accomplish anything.

I didnt know it was Troy Baker, wow. He does Steeljaw too. I would love RID to release more toys of the Primes. Afterall, he covenant of the Primes comes from this continuity.

I agree that would of been a good idea and a good way to get additional heads out there and give base builders more people to live in their utopias.

Found something interesting:
Scaleface wrote:The following were posted on threads by member Chainclaw. I forwarded them to the Transmissions Podcast asking if they wish to comment, confirm or deny them.
Chainclaw wrote:An anonymous friend of mine showed me a bunch of stuff on his computer last night that Hasbro is working on. A couple things were just concept art, or those packets they show investors. But the majority was actual toys. Anyways, he said I could talk about it online, as long as I didn't mention him by name.

So that said, it would be great to have some images, to represent what I saw when I'm talking to people. So I have a series of requests that are spoilers of what's coming later in 2016 and 2017. So anyone not wanting to know shouldn't read past this point. Cool?

Okay, I saw a Headmaster Star Convoy / Laser Prime from G2. It pretty much looks like Star Convoy, except that star-ish shaped yellow thing on his chest looks blockier, like a letter T. And his shoulders are very Laser Prime, sticking up high, with two circle things on the front of each one. In truck mode he's long nosed, but red. Not black with red flames.

Just as Sentinel Prime was obviously Astrotrain, Headmaster Megatron is obviously Blitzwing, but with a Megatron head. You can see his tank turret on his back, and jet fins on his ankles. He comes with two guns which merge to form his big cannon that can plug into his arm. Megatron's head looks very G1 in head mode. In "Nebulon" mode it has a red torso, and grey limbs.

Chromedome's getting repainted as Getaway. Head looks G1.

Triggerhappy is a headmaster who looks very G1.

Hot Rod is a headmaster who looks G1 in vehicle mode. Robot mode looks vaguely IDW to me. Small waste. Long thinghs. Big hexagonal kneepads with vents in them.

Alpha Trion's a triple changer. Beast Mode is a wolf with a unicorn horn (I have no idea why). Jet mode looks very Vector Prime.

Weirdwolf looks good. Very G1.

Powermaster Prime is getting a Diaclone repaint, so it's a blue COE truck. They seem to be calling it Magnus Prime or something along those lines (I can't remember for sure). Odd, since it's not white.

Tidal Wave seems to be coming back (investor art, photoshopped, rough). Looks like it'll share a mold with Broadside. Vehicle mode seems to be USS Flagg homage. Part of "strength series". Tidal Wave's head is called Powerhouse. Grey body. Green limbs.

Decepticon Clones. Looked to me like they have a Predaking. And the D-clones were Predaking parts. Same with Horri-Bull.

Sharkticon looks very round and G1.

Technobots look like you'd expect. But Afterburner is weird. Instead of making him G1, or just an orange Takara Groove, he's got this really long warped/bent windshield. It looks awkward to me. But that was my only complaint from everything I saw.

SDCC Fort Max comes with red sword. Has blue hands, instead of white.
That's all I can remember right now. Anyways, very excited. Would love to have any of these done up, just for the sake of chatting with friends about it on FB, etc.

Thanks-

Non-already rumored stuff has been put in spoilers for those that do not like spoilers.

Anyway, I could see Triggerhappy being made from Brainstorm.

That's all very interesting. It will be fun to see if all or any of that pans out. I'm really excited to see what comes of Vector Prime I was thinking yesterday, after the news of :HASBRO: registering the name Vector Prime, we haven't seen Alpha Trion's vehicle mode, but we've heard it's a ship. I was thinking it could very well look like VP's space ship mode.
I'm kind of hoping VP isn't a remold of AT, but it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. It would be pretty cool for Vector to have a beast mode. :MAXIMAL:

I'm kind of hoping VP isn't a remold of AT, but it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. It would be pretty cool for Vector to have a beast mode. :MAXIMAL:

I'm already waiting for the ragers: "No, that would be absolutely terrible. He's not supposed to have a beast mode. He had never one so he shouldn't ever have one. That would be a violation to the character." And so on...

Yeah, I find it kinda funny that everyone is/would be complaining about that now, but in 30 years or so, the fans that were kids today will be complaining that VP doesn't have a beast mode or that OpMax substituted Bumblebee for Sunstreaker or something like that.

Rundown of Rumoured Upcoming Transformers Titans Return Toys

Postby william-james88 » Tue Feb 23, 2016 2:06 pm

Motto: "'till All Are One"
Fellow Seibertronian Decepticon Sunstorm found a post online from TF Fan Chainclaw which relates to images of unrevealed toys he saw. He gives a detailed list of his thoughts on them below but here is the breakdown. Remember of course, that since this is all unrevealed items, take this with a grain of salt, as we do when we usually get rumours of this kind. Not only that these are subject to a persons point of view, but there have been many occurences of Hasbro not releasing a product that was being developed. Now onto the latest rumours of toys that might come out at the tail end of 2016 or in 2017:

Headmaster Laser Prime which looks to be inspired by both Star Convoy and G2 Prime.

Headmaster Triplechanger Megatron which can turn into a jet and a tank. Will probably be used for Blitzwing.

Getaway as a repaint of Chromedome.

Headmaster Triggerhappy (his G1 toy was a Targetmaster).

Headmaster Hot Rod

Headmaster Triplechanger Alpha Trion (while we have seen the art for this toy, Chainclaw did expand on the vehiclemode looking like Vector Prime's).

Headmaster Weirdwolf

Headmaster Doublecross

Magnus Prime, which is a blue redeco of Combiner Wars Ultra Magnus, as a reference to the Diaclone Ultra Magnus.

Tidal Wave which may share the mold with Broadside. Probably a triple changer and thus a voyager headmaster.

Decepticon Clones made up of components looking like the Predaking ones. For example there was a Horri-Bull which could double as Tantrum.

Legends Sharkticon (Gnaw)

Legends Reflector (Shockwave redeco)

Legends Kickback

Legends Brawn

SDCC Fort Max comes with Red Sword. This was already hinted at in a previous leak which mentioned an exclusive sword.

Here is the detailed breakdown with extra descriptions and thoughts on what Chainclaw saw:

Thanks-
