While this looks totally freakin' badass, I definitely don't have room on my shelf for both Fort Max and Metroplex. Since I already have Metroplex, I'll have to pass.

From this comparison it looks like the lower legs would be completely different. I know the stretched image is not exactly in scale, but the legs do not match up, you can see it in the upper knee joint. It looks like Max is a bit shorter, which I think would tie into fiction. Plex's feet extend too low even if you adjust the image. I am not an expert on either character, what do you all think.

Yeah, those treads should be very visible. That images posted and newsed is most likely not the real thing, just a mock up. I trust that accidental image much more than this new one

I have spent way too much time today comparing the pictures, but I would like to go on record as saying that, the only thing I see on Fort Max that is identical to Metroplex, is the forearms. All the other anatomy my share the same dimensions and basic shapes, but they have all been re-tooled with new detailing.
So as I said in an earlier post "at least 80% a new toy".

Sorry I was refering to how the actual reveal at botcon which proves that the "toy reveal" is probably fake

If this does turn out to be real, the lack of the treads that we saw in the original art as well as the lower production numbers suggest to me that this could possibly be a special edition exclusive version of the figure (like as a Platinum Edition or a SDCC version) that's more G1-accurate in its lacking the treads and having a small production run, while the mass retail version would have the treads and higher production numbers.

If I may chime in here: I don't know the first image set, but the 2 MP Screams are new molds. The transformation had to be adjusted and the same parts end up in completely different areas. the last image of CW stuff those are retools. They have the exact same transformation and share skeletons and some parts. just the easier parts to retool (car parts and pieces easily swapped) are changed, but the skeleton and some core parts are the exact same.

As for the "Metroplex reshell vs. new mold" thing, notice the same crack and molding details on the lower leg:

That wasn't aimed at specifically you. Just a lot of "this is the same", "that is the same" going on. There is no denying now that he is a retool (if that picture is indeed real). I'm just relieved a bit that he is not a slight retool or even worse a re-paint. If they put some serious re-working into him, I remain interested.

Hey, I get ya, and if it is experiencing new transformations that you're looking for, then sure, you're certainly going to be unenthused by this.

I think that they are only 'new' if you don't already have them (in all cases) or prefer one deco over the other (something I specifically did with gen skullgrin) I think there is less to be upset about, however, if they go to all the trouble to remold 50%+ of the important parts, like in the cw line...

I dunno, so many figures I've wanted have passed me by; I just roll with it, assuming that I won't be able to get them.

Oh I know I know. But I wanted to tag along with your official stance by saying that my words had never changed as well.

To be perfectly honest, whether it be a redeco or a retool is all the same with me, I still see it as the same base toy. And that is surely because I am in this for the craftsmenship and not a particular attachment (my attachment is all Beast Wars and well and I clearl jumped on that blackarachnia even if it was a retool). My interest with both retools and redecos is always a case by case (classics Skywarp when I have Starscream? Sure! CW Irohnide when I have Offroad? No thanks) but I know I am more likely to buy another toy of the same character because it has a new mold rather than a new character which shares a similar mold to another toy. Thats just where my priorities lie.

And wow good memory

Still early to get excited for the new Fort Max but so far so good. I have the original one; some days I'll sit with it and play it songs on my guitar. Other days I worship it as a God, offering it libations. Ahhhh, good times.
