Looks to be so. Kinda worth noting that so far, of the non-legends retools and redecos we've gotten in the line - Blaster/Soundwave, Scourge/Highbrow, Brainstorm/Blurr, Sentinel Prime/Astrotrain, various Titan Masters - none of them have shared a face. And clearly that'll follow with Megatron/Blitzwing, Optimus/Tankor, Skullcruncher/Krok and Hardhead/Quake. So I think for such a major character rn as Getaway, he'd have a different face.

On the contrary, the leaked deco layout shows that he and his headmaster are identical to chromedome.

Waiting for payday. Going to get Titans Return Galvatron and maybe TR Scourge. Hoping I can find either or both of them in person so I don't have to wait for it to get here. I'm definitely not paying too much higher than retail. Scalpers will get no business from me.

Funny thing relating to the Titanmaster Ptero/Swoop! Today I found out that the Japanese name of the Pokemon called Aerodactyl is, in fact, Ptero! I shall now refer to the Titanmaster as Aerodactyl-tron.

I'm actually worried that they will attempt to use the metro/fortmax body again. you can actually fold the legs and arms to get pretty close to the basic transformation of the scorpion mode and Has/tak are apparently not above such behavior. despite the fact that they only release one of these titans per year a new pair of lower legs are apparently out of the question financially. Hence the worry....

Funny you should mention all of them. I don't know what Hasbro has in store when it comes to retools and redecos, only that pretooling is mostly done to the heads, with the bodies just being straight redecos, except for Blaster into Soundwave and Blurr into Brainstorm. Also, heads aren't necessarily tied to a single body. So far, we have these confirmed pretools for the heads:

Crashbash & Clobber
Terri-Bull & Skytread

Stylor (Chromedome), Hyperfire (Blurr) & Teslor (Brainstorm)
Fracas (Scourge) & Xort (Highbrow)

Infinitus (Sentinel Prime) & Darkmoon (Astrotrain)
Twin Cast (Blaster) & Soundblaster (Soundwave)

And with Doomshot (Megatron) resembling Blitzwing, we can tentatively add that as well.

I just worry that they'll make Scorponok out of Trypticon because... well...





... those base modes are really freaking similar. Ramp in the middle, two extending parts out of each side, two spires at the back... it scares me.
I really hope they don't do it and, well, obviously they shouldn't because base modes aside even a blind dude could tell you they're nothing alike; but maybe that cynical side of me is really trying to scare me...

So, like, Infinitus and Darkmoon are obviously repaints of each other in terms of the Titan Master robot itself; but in terms of Astrotrain and Sentinel's Robot Mode heads, their faces are completely different. Astrotrain - thankfully - isn't just rocking a grey and purple Sentinel face.

Way ahead of you. Overboard/Overkill is under Lokos (Squeezeplay), while the rest have their own new entry, but when they turn out to be retools, they'll be allocated accordingly As you can tell, I do use the names of the original partners or the character they're based on, which may seem surprising in some places:

Sawback is based on the Headmaster Warrior Lione
Ptero is indeed supposed to be Swoop, probably renamed for the same reason as Clobber
Diac is based on a Diaclone pilot
And most surprising, Revolver is based on... Jack, one of Sixshot's murder victims.

:EDIT: Ok, this is really bugging me: who is Firedrive based on?! His body style reminds me of someone and I can't place it!

Wow! Those look way too similar to be a coincidence! Or maybe it is just a coincidence and Hyperdrive is based off of Hot Rod's G1 Targetmaster like Scourge and Blurr's Titanmasters are. I dunno. Now I kinda want Titanmasters that look like Laster and Beaver's heads.

I did check Firebolt, but only the chest matches, not the head or limbs. Which made it easy to find a 2nd character for the mold I suppose.

Firedrive is just the new name for Hot Rod's Targetmaster Firebolt.

Don't worry about it! This kind of stuff happens to me very often!

Is anybody else really bothered by that Hot Rod head? I know it's just because of the head master gimmick but it's bugging me a lot that his head is boxed like that.

At this point I've gotten pretty good at mentally blocking everything that isn't the face. Once you're able to look past the squareness they're much easier to enjoy.

I highly doubt it. You can't make a scorpion out of a dinosaur, not even with the most extensive retooling. And Scorponok wouldn't be Scorponok without a scorpion mode.
