I'm not even sure Takara would make a Lightfoot out of this given their track record of ignoring certain mold redecos/retools and the fact that this mold doesn't even look that much like the classic Getaway/Lightfoot design that the Japanese audience is familiar with (as it's more obviously Chromedome's body in Getaway colors than anything).william-james88 wrote:The problem with getaway is that he is already simple a redeco. So if the deco is all you have to offer, why not make it enticing? let takara give us the simplistic show accurate paint job.

Sabrblade wrote:All these comments about Breakaway being plain-looking... Not sure what ya'll were expecting with Hasbro trying to pay homage to a guy whose classic look has always had a rather plain-looking deco from the get-go:
Even in Japan did Getaway's counterpart Lightfoot look even more plain with his windows no longer red, and his faceplate the same gray as his helmet, in the cartoon:

I'm right there with you. I though TH was a retool of HB, but I can barely see it. I pulled up HB's gallery and really only the arms look the same and they are heavily retooled - that is some serious black magic they are pulling over there.D-Maximus_Prime wrote:I really am looking forward to Triggerhappy. I am loving the whole wave so far save Getaway and will be getting so many of these guys. Plus, I think we can all agree Triggerhappy is not a retool of Highbrow. I don't think he can be. The arms are the only thing that look similar

Yes. Now go to your room and don't play with yourself.

PS: I actually think the buzzsaw/lazerbeak mold is perfectly fine for what it is.

Comparing a humanoid with a cat that's in a different size class that is trying for a different gimmick oh yes that's totally fair.

I find no solace in anyone's QC issues. I try to stay as positive as possible in the current state these toys are in. I mean, I'm not even really that mad about these with Prime. I know I can fab my own pin, and I may be able to fix the shoulder. I just think, and I know a few folks will agree, for the price I paid, I really shouldn't have too.william-james88 wrote:I find the base mode very unimpressive though and quite odd. Show us some pics when you tried connecting hi to Blaster, I didnt get the best results. I am also not too fond of how his thighs get in the way of each other in bot mode. He is a beast though and a striking robot, I will giive you that (I also enjoy unfolding the panels to make the trailer). Sorry to hear about your QC issues, but maybe you will find solace in the fact that I had them too.Cobotron wrote:So I picked up PMOP the other day. All in all he is way cooler than I expected, and looks a ton better in-hand. But...
I got some QC lemons. One of the panels that forms the leg/trailer is just straiaght up missing pin. And his left shoulder ratchet has no ratchet, and can't support the weight of it's self.
Anybody else have any of these issues.
Ha! that was the first thing I looked at through the box window when I picked him up. I was relieved about that, until, well...RAR wrote:Missing paint on the chest windows is the common complaint

RAR wrote:I've never read a IDW comic featuring Getaway so that wouldn't really be having any great influence on a purchase - I hear he's not a nice individual though in said comic.
I would say it's not unreasonable due to the different colour and different name to discount him as Getaway entirely and consider him as "Breakaway" and that said Breakaway is then in your head cannon based on the Movie toy / Cybertron Mould toy of some years ago.
I just thought i'd offer that idea to those put off by not liking him as they don't like the comic character or the toys lack of resemblance to that character they don't like his lack of resemblance to G1 Getaway.
I would have liked the Titanmaster's chest to be red for example (I don't know if it is or not).
As for the "Reason" to buy him - I will say the previous Breakaway and Getaways has some bearing on that - but really it's just completeism and
the use of his duplicate guns combined with having more Titanmaster mini-figures is always going to be useful. So it's play value that would be a factor with that buying decision with Triggerhappy it would because there are so few Decepticons these days as well as I like the look of him, and his alt mode it great. as well as the play value of his Titanmaster, the starfighter mode and the - wrist-guns. as well as the hope they will make Misfire as well.
I would presume most Child purchases will be simply as they like the car or the look of him - as he lacks any name recognition not even Getaway's minimal name recognition he would get from the original toy and any comic appearances.
As 'Breakaway' the general kid-buying public will have to judge him on his merit as a figure - as they do when they see Crocodile-bot, Wolf-bot, Bat-bots and so one alike I guess.
I don't mind him having another name - I do have a tendency to call Blue-Bluestreak by his Bluestreak name and the silver one by the "Silverstreak" name as it's convenient for example.
