Woo Hoo! Finally found Six Shot at the Target near my work during my lunch break (the same one where I saw Voyager Prime last week). So...since, as far as I am aware, Sky Shadow has not been spotted at retail in the U.S...then I am caught up for the time being.

I found all of the wave 3 deluxe figures at a Target near my work today. Picked up triggerhappy and breakaway and doublecross was waiting in the mail for me when I got home. So now I just need to find voyager prime and have Leo prime show up and I'll have every figure from waves 1-3.

Managed to get both Sixshot and Megatron recently.

Love, love, LOVE Sixshot! The deco is gorgeous, and it's fun to pose, although I wish the ankles would tilt more easily. The alt-modes are mostly okay, although I wish I could secure the arms in a couple of his modes, as they just sort of hang loose otherwise. His buggy and wolf modes are the most solid.

Megatron looks pretty good in bot mode, although more paint apps and a better quality of plastic would help the figure immensely. Still, the base figure looks quite nice, and is fairly poseable for a Voyager. The stickers are pretty lame. Alt-modes are okay. As an updated Blitzwing, I think this mold is wildly successful. As a Megatron, I think it's just okay.

To be fair, this -was- the 80s, where T-rexes weren't that cool yet and were all Grimlockian.

On a separate note, I think it's worth noting that the original myths about Dragons come from misconceptions by humans centuries ago about Dinosaur bones. So Dinosaurs and Dragons are very closely related

You use it on Overboard, and it turns out pretty decently (especially if you paint it). It's just a titan master, but it gets the job done.

The "Snap" refers to the jaws of the mighty T-Rex.
The "Dragon" refers to the Xarthopian Dragon T160 heavy star fighter his other alt mode is modeled after.

Hence the name Snap Dragon.

Of course I'm just making **** up because it's fun.
I'm still going with, he's named after a flower.

I would imagine that Snapdragon's alt mode is the Lockheed A-12 the single seat predessessor version of the SR71 Blackbird jet it even shares the two-tone paint job. http://www.spyflight.co.uk/a12.htm though a version the of the YF-12-a Interceptor is also white so it could be based on that too.

Is he ever referred to as a T-rex in any fiction either though? I'm honestly not sure, but if he isn't then that still means that "dragon" has more official backing than T-rex does, even if it is only in a single third-party (albeit officially-licensed) game.

(I honestly don't have much stake in this argument at all - I'm happy to just call him a reptile since that seems to be the "most official" name for that mode - but lack of concrete evidence for 'dragon' does not translate to 'T-rex' being the correct designation.)

Also, this. The game isn't really any less canon than any other fiction depicting Snapdragon, as far as I'm aware, and as long as it's not directly contradicted by anything else I think we can safely assume that the information it presents can be taken as what's intended by Hasbro/Takara.

Ok guys, the thing with Snapdragon is that his name is apt, in a weird way. Officially, his instructions refer to him as a "dinosaur", while the Marvel bio and tech specs refer to it as a more generic "reptile mode". Dragons are reptilian in most depictions, and in some areas of the world, especially the far east, dinosaurs are viewed as dragons, to the point the words have become synonymous in some languages.

Japanese: 恐竜 kyōryū, lit. "Fear Dragon"
Chinese: 恐龙 Kǒnglóng, lit. "Fear Dragon"

Ah, cool! Thanks for compiling all that info - it sounds like none of us were wholly right after all. Honestly, I think 'reptile mode' is a perfectly fine designation since it really doesn't fit that closely with well-known dinosaur or dragon builds.

Or you know, if we want to be totally 100% accurate about it, we could always call it his 'not jet' mode. Has a nice ring to it. "Snapdragon is a fearsome Headmaster warrior who can transform into both a jet and not a jet!" :lol:
