LEGO parts.
Ironhidensh wrote:Random question: anybody know when the TR boxset with Ginrai Prime is supposed to start showing up? I'm trying to wait for it, but the Takara Legends figure is calling to me, and since it goes, at best, for the same price, I'd like to wait for the boxset, and get 3 other figures I can throw on ebay.

I'd forgotten he was a Wrecker. Huh.![]()
Probably not, if I'm honest-the stickers put me off, the ship mode looks great but doesn't even scale with Legends and the jet mode is a travesty. A shame as the robot mode is cool. I do kinda want Alpha Trion though, who IIRC was heavily retooled into Broadside.
Not retooled, they just have the same parts for the lower legs. The upper body is a totally new mold unrelated to alpha trion.
Didn't Hasbro themselves say that broadside was a retool? I'm pretty sure I remember Ryan himself saying it was a retool and everyone kinda ignored him.

These boxsets are super hard to predict since they are all exclusive this year and thats all retailer dependent. I would guess it would be out in the summer so at least two months from now. And, in case you dont know, it will only be sold through BBTS.

Again, such figures really blurr the line. They're related by parts at the very most, but some may use more conditions to be met in order to properly use the term "retool". Ah, the joys of being overly technical...

If so then maybe the Combiner Force stuff and also the stray Titan Returns and who know what else all might magically appear at that time too. (I can hope so at least).
Hasbro did say they wanted to make sure there was more options available I just hope the retailers don't go screw it up.

I was always going to get him since I love the navy and ships, he is the last of the Autobot triple changers I need, and he will go with the rest of my wreckers. Even though the aircraft mode is shite. But that may be why I keep Tidal Wave: only worry about the boat mode, and the colors and head are pretty bangin'. Plus, I could consider him shattered glass Broadside (now I just need some purple autobot symbols)...
Speaking of my wreckers shelf, it currently has Springer, Sandstorm, Roadbuster, and the FoC Ruination. Topspin, Twintwist, and Kup all have a date with that shelf. I'm also hoping they make a new Guzzle, Rotorstorm, Ironfish, and Pyro to join the team. I love my wreckers (maybe my extra Prime Bulkhead will migrate to that shelf too...)

You could always get DOTM Guzzle.
I'm just surprised there's third party stuff for any TR figure not called Fort Max yet. These dudes work fast...

It's on my list of potential buys for the wreckers, I remembered that one!

Kind alike with Kre-o Megatron's adverts only with less humiliation by tiny Autobots.

Should I stop?
Kurona wrote:So like, is anyone else kind of bothered by the sliiiiiight gap lines between Hot Rod's main body and his arms in vehicle mode? Especially when you open up the cockpit? It certainly doesn't ruin the figure for me, especially when overall this vehicle mode is absolutely beautiful; but it does take some points off and takes me out of it a little.
william-james88 wrote:Also, I forget where I read this but there was a commentor who said that Krok and Quake would be the hardest to find since they are shortpacked. Turns out he was dead wrong. hasbro is smarter than any of us like to think and whenever I see wave 4 in store or online, Krok and Quake are the always there while the others which arent short packed are sold out. Those are the first I found and the first Cobo found and even at those higher prices, perceptor is sold out instead of the shortpacked toys.
So yeah, hasbro was smart, the less important characters which are selling less rapidly are the shortpacked ones while the more important characters are not. I still see getaway whenever I see wave 3 even though he is shortpacked, that toy is really not as hot.

Hellscream9999 wrote:I don't know if that's entirely fair, I mean, I think we all know that the others in the wave are the ones everyone is really looking to get, so naturally the odd repaints are destined to sit around, due to being less popular. Same goes for wave 3, getaway received a very lukewarm reception - opposite the other wave-mates, though, all of them are chilling out at the Target I work at.
