This is not Tidal-Wave. It has a face-plate, a visor, and the little chin thing. It's obviously Broadside. I have no idea what you guys are talking about.

I know that Broadside is supposed to be Leader Class(i think )
but those parts either side of his head look very much like the Sentinel Prime/Astrotrain ones! can anyone else see parts that look like it may be retooled from previous TR figs?

Legs

this is the blue/gold dress effect again. the resolution, colors, angle and shadows are making people see the head in different ways. see the attached image, people that see the the tidal wave head are seeing the image as outlined in the top image. two eyes, animated or prime/rid style nose (or lack thereof)and a biglipped almost beastwars megatron mouth.
the second image is what others are seeing, visor and faceplate. civen the shadows, angle of the head and the fact you can see the legs of the heads robot mode, im thinking the lower image is the right one, though when i first saw it, i saw the top one.

Voyager Class. All Triple Changers are Voyager Class, while Leader Class has the base modes and helmets. That's the main distinction.

Those pylons on either side of the head are for "beefing" it up, Alpha Trion uses the same principle.

Everyone is so sure.......just wait for more images if this is legit then decide

Titan Masters' legs can't move out like that, and neither can the arms. So yeah, Trion/Sentinel-styled pylons.

Sorry friend, the legs I was pointing out are the thighs that make up the top of his dome there. The side bits are the spring loaded pylons that pop up just like sentinel/astrotrain and alpha trion

Yeah, all I see in that head is Broadside, not Tidal Wave. As for why they'd do him first rather than as a pre-tool like Astrotrain, Octane, and Blitzwing is simple: They've had CHUG figures before, Broadside hasn't.

And I do want a new Sandstorm very badly. I didn't like the Generations one at all, mainly because I HATE that head sculpt, it's the only Generations Voyager I passed on. To me Sandstorm has a square head and mouth plate, perfectly suited for Titans Return. Whatever that Generations head sculpt was it wasn't Sandstorm.

oh btw....about class size.....wasn't it speculated early on that Broadside may be Leader Class i could've sworn that i read something about that ages ago! yeah yeah....regardless....granted that we now know for sure! that he's Voyager Class.

It was likely someone saying he should be Leader class in their opinion due to his hulking size in IDW and a few other fictional appearances.

Looking at it now, Sandstorm's Generations head seems to be a compromise between the G1 toy's molded details and most of his fictional appearances (including the G1 cartoon) having a face instead of the original toy's faceplate.

I'm all for Broadside and Tidal Wave. However, am I the only one who also wants a Flattop redeco too? Back during Universe 2.0, I always wanted Roughstuff and Overload redecos of Classics Octane/Tankor. I'd love those to be done from Titans Return Laser Prime/Octane as well. Poor Erector though, he get's no love.

It was a mix of the G1 cartoon incarnation with the mouth, and the IDW one with the helmet. I personally really liked the head. It was the lack of decent heels and a stupidly huge back-pack that made me pass on him. SInce we're getting a new Blitzwing, I don't see why we can't get a new Sandstorm and probably Springer. I do like my old Generations Springer best, but a new one would be great for a SillySpringer custom.

I agree though, I'd like some random Micromaster redecoes in there. Looking back at the Universe 2.0 line it's kind of one of my favourite things about it; all these amazing Cybertron molds stuffed into CHUG by making them into random Micromasters. It's so cool.

I'm hoping Takara go the Hardhead route with this and give us the other head with a mouth.

Kinda interesting how there's so many different versions of Sandstorm's face, when Springer's face looks pretty much the same all the time.

I'm aware of that retool. I guess I meant to say that Erector gets no MORE love due to that other figure having been a shelf-warmer like Cybertron Mudflap was before it.

Im a tad disappointed that he may not be leader sized. I think of Broadside looming over even the traditional voyager scaled characters

Looks interesting. I'm definitely seeing brodside, and not tidalwave, but, I like it.

But, more importantly, does this confirm that there will be a 5th wave of tr figures? I mean 1st wave of next year is o/p and megs, 2nd (I would presume) will be blitzy and octane. So will broadside be appearing alongside tidalwave, or will they split it up, like 2nd wave: blitzwing/broadside and 3rd wave: octane/ tidalwave

If so, does that mean they will happen after the movie figures hit stores, or will they be competing for shelf space...

There's no doubt in my mind there'd be a fifth wave. They need to get some easy redecoes/retools out of these molds - as is Hasbro's modus operandi - and the rumours don't seem to pan out for just one more wave.
