Picked up reissue Tailgate and Swerve at Walmart this morning. Looks like Outback is long gone, even before Bumblebee which I already have.

Here's my Xmass haul! Got a local geek shop "gift certificate" from my family so I enjoyed the Boxing Day at Geek Stuff in Laval.
Got Beast Wars Cybershark. He's shellformy and use his own body parts as weapon but he's charming. Then, an Energon haul with Wheeljack, Jetfire, and Skyblast. They are all amazing and great looking. Even the deluxe Wheeljack. Jetfire being the most satisfying of them all. I also LOVE those ackward duocon combinaisons.

All 100% complete of course.

Nice one, Kanra! Skyblast is my favorite of the four, I just love the way he looks in both forms as a Skyfire tribute, knees be damned!
"Downshift" is a ton of fun as well, though I prefer the Cybertron version.

I loved to see how Skyblast is Jetfire's "mini-me". I looked a way to attach SB to JF but no. we can't A missed opportunity from the designers.
"Downshift" had great toys in all 3 series. But it's true that that kick-ass Cybertron Muscle Car can't be beaten. I'm really glad to have found the last one of the trio here with the Energon.

They're not bad. The transformations are more involved that I thought they'd be and I like the effect parts. Shoulders are a little loose, but they're strong enough to hold up the guns so it's fine. All in all I'm looking forward to wave 2.

Re: Transformers Toy haul thread
Time to finally catch up on my (and my daughter's) Christmas haul.
First for me, lots of body parts. my 2nd and 3rd Cog, and an arm for Megascream, who will be Sunstorm for my collection. I have plans for the cogs, so check out the Siege forum for that.
Next up the haul for my mini-me. 3 more 1 steps for her collection that I was able to find at Ross or 5 below.
And finally the stars of the show and the shared hail for me and my daughter, Botbot mania! We both love these.
We got all the main once we wanted until the 5 and 8 packs show up in stores in the US. Man, these are fun. Definitely have some plans here, so check out the Botbots thread after this weekend for the results of my silliness.

Guys you guys! For Christmas, my mother got me Universe Nemesis Prime, the black redeco of Big Convy one! She knew I’d had him on my radar for a while, and she was able to find him on eBay for a relatively good price! This guy has been a holy grail for me for a while!
Of course he reeks of cigarette smoke and has a niiiiice tackiness from the residue, but a quick dip in some warm soapy water should help with that.

Nemi! That's a dope gift.
Dunking that mammoth in warm soapy water will def do the trick. Also a cold water rinse.
Go back and forth a couple times, then dry thoroughly.
It's worked well for me. I was a smoker back in the 90's.

Nice score Will. Finally got to open this guy last night:

The original Optimus Primal. He's pretty cool. The one I got is missing the missiles, swords, flail, mutant mask, and left back panel. But at least he has his gorilla noggin.
I'm interested in buying the things he's missing, if anyone has them available. Missiles and back panel are priority.

I was going to say the missiles should be easy to find since there must be a ton of junkers out there and each figure came with four missiles, but then I looked on eBay and found only one for like $20 shipped out of Canada.

Yeah, I noticed the same when scouring eBay. Which would be one reason I'm asking on forums.

Not to sound like a party pooper, but it was a waste of money to have bought a junker (any junker) if your goal is to complete it. The only time a junker is worth buying is for custom fodder.
Juste having ONE piece can take months or years if you are not willing to pay the Ebay price. Now imagine 6 or 10. If you really, really want a 100% complete OG Optimus Primal, better pay the price and spend the money on a 100% complete one. The older the toy, the more relevant it is. Stay away from listings that claim to be "99% complete". You will NEVER save any money there, unless you coincidentally have the missing piece in hand right now as you buy the thing.
TlDr; Buy 100% complete or bust.

Sometimes, I get curious and check the posts of people on my ignore list. Sometimes there's useful information or even something that makes me reconsider and unblock them
Aaand then sometimes they forcefully remind me why I blocked them and should keep on doing so.

ROTF Optimus here was a thrift store partial, missing one of his windows and one of his feet. I didn't consider buying him for restoration to be a "waste of time". Nor any other figure I've bought incomplete.
By the way, that Optimus Primal probably isn't going to be as much of a bother to restore as Smugsaurus Rex Megatron here:

Really? You're that kind of guy? Covering your ears and going "lalalala" won't change reality. The reality that completing any TFs (for cheap) is a giant pain and is often a fruitless endeavor. Especially for G1. I still feel the burn from Doubledealer's blue chest part. Had a "deal" on Ebay for a "99% complete" one for 70$ but that damn part had to be paid 40$ one year later.
Also, those damn spring loaded missiles. Most of my "to be complete" TFs are only missing those and they are nope'd priced on Ebay. And that's without talking about the ones I had that were 100% complete, but the missile just went flying off never to be seen again. God I hate those things.
My only exception to my rule is if a bot is only missing his weapons. No missing body parts. And only if it's dirt cheap and I won't care completing it.

It much easier and cheaper when you don't have to deal with Canadian trade policies.

I've been patiently parting together figures since 2010. It does sometimes take a long time either from pricing or from things not showing up, and some are still in progress, but it's hardly a waste of time and I really don't appreciate it being called that. It does often cost more all told, but the tradeoff is that the money isn't accumulated and spent all at once.
