Got a good deal on Gamestop that would have been even better if not for shipping.

Got an email from them saying they had 50% off clearance so I did a quick search and found two Transformers.

The top one is Studio Series Crowbar. Not a bad price, he'll be standing next to my also clearanced TLK Berserker from last year. Probably wouldn't have bought it if I wasn't already getting the second item.

The second is SS ROTF Voyager Megatron! Yeah! I don't care if there's a new one, I'm always up for a $12.99 voyager that's this relatively new. They had Brawl listed, but he was sold out. Looks like I got the last Megatron and Crowbar is back to full price. These might be available in stores for these prices, it's worth a look!

I love Studio Series Jetfire.

Got Optimus Prime coming tomorrow to combine with it.

Oh this also came with Jetfire cos free shipping was £50 and Jetfire was £49.99 and this Apeface was £2.99 and cheapest thing I could find to push the cost over £50. I have no use for it but better than nothing.

Thanks. Yeah i think the only things i ain't keen on are the hands being open flat (i get why cos it helps them tuck away in plane mode like starscream's but it would be nice if they could fold over so it looks like he's gripping the axe properly) and that the whiskers are too visible in jet mode. But other than that he's a whole lot of fun and so much detail too. Definitely my fave of the three Studio Series Leader figures I have owned by far (I sold Grimlock cos he was too small and I bought the Black Mamba version, and as for Blackout...well I've barely touched him, dunno why, but oddly enough today I did order him some articulated hands cos I bloody hate the ones he comes with so yay maybe some much needed wrist and finger articulation will make him more interesting to me, I do like good hands on a TF figure)

Can't wait for the SS32 Optimus Prime tomorrow. I've had so much enjoyment from the SS05 version for past year so an improved version is plenty fine by me and combines with Jetfire? I am eager. Ok sleep time. Night night, people. And night night, Grandpa Jetfire.

Siege Wave 1 Completion Hauls:

Voyager Megs and OP came on Friday from HTS, but I didn't really have time to open them up until the business trip I'm currently on this week. I initially intended to skip them because I was one of the few that likes PotP Prime and CW Megs. I'll add more detailed comments in the Siege thread, but overall I'm glad I got both of them.

Then super bonus yesterday as I decided to drive 45 minutes to the nearest 2 Targets which were only about 10 minutes apart from each other. Struck out at the first one, but at the second one...

I was also going to Skip Magnus, but my plastic crack addiction and lack of will power got the best of me. Plus I figure of the 3 I was going to Skip, Magnus is the easiest to headcannon into being the original UM and the CW version being the later IDW/Minimus Ambus. Haven't had a chance to open either yet, so I'll post my thoughts on those in Siege once I get the chance to enjoy them.

Blackout is my favorite SS figure, but those hands are truly awful. What third party makes alternate hands for him?? I’d love to know if they’re any good, because I’ve been waiting for someone like DNA to put out some kind of upgrade kit. At this point I don’t think they will.

I saw this video of Shockwave Lab hands that clip onto where you fold the default hands away. They don't transform as part of the chopper mode but they don't look too bad where they end up and they're nicely articulated and I've ordered a set for about £12 including delivery from china so thought worth a shot and should get them within next couple weeks or so.


Lets him do stuff like this. Much better hands.

I saw this video of Shockwave Lab hands that clip onto where you fold the default hands away. They don't transform as part of the chopper mode but they don't look too bad where they end up and they're nicely articulated and I've ordered a set for about £12 including delivery from china so thought worth a shot and should get them within next couple weeks or so.

I think I'll pass, unless it's possible to actually replace the original hands with them. For one thing, I'm not too bothered by the original hands. For another, I think the new hands look horrendously obtrusive sticking out of the fuel tank mounts like that. Also, we should probably take further discussion of them to the 3P forum.

I disagree. I think they look absolutely fine in alt-mode. If they were more obviously human-ish hands with four fingers and thumb it might look too obvious but styled as they are I think they work just fine in chopper mode and a massive improvement on the standard hands in robot mode (which I hate so much, even a bit of wrist articulation would have improved things there but no)

Cobotron, dat Geewun Megatron is NOICE!

On my end, I FINALLY got something interesting Transformers wise.
As a (HUGE) tag along for my most expensive Mandrake haul to date, I got ENCORE G1 SKYLINX!




It was "used" at only 4500 yen! Way better than the overpriced (and often in bad condition) vintage. He's squeaky clean and the stickers weren't even applied. So I did. And man, does this thing is GLORIOUS! Plus the walking gimmick is cute and fun.





Now my Platinum Predaking FINALLY have his rival!

I might post a picture of my Christmas haul later, it's pretty late right now.

But I just got two pieces in the mail yesterday. The first is a G1 Action Master Thundercracker. I've had my eye on this thing for years because he's just so gaudy and ugly. Unfortunately, I guess I didn't read the eBay auction too carefully, because my specimen is in really rough shape. Both arms and one leg popped off as soon as I opened the package, and a hinge on the exo suit is broken. This is something that's for display only.

However, this is all made up with my having gotten a "The Last Knight" Nitro on the same day, mint in box! I absolutely love this guy and he more than makes up for the Thundercracker disappointment. My biggest gripes are some parts that pop off easily and his stupid removable non-transforming head. But the rest of the figure is gold. I love his jet mode, too!

Eh I really like the head sculpt on that figure.

Also odd you mention Nitro and Thundercracker when the Nitro mold was reused (with new head and colours) for Thundercracker in Studio Series.

Well, the head doesn't transform because he wasn't a Headmaster. But it's removable because of a sequence that was planned but tragically never rendered (here's hoping for a miracle in the form of a Special Edition of TLK) in which Cogman sliced Nitro Zeus' head off and took over his body, Animated Headmaster-style.
