Shame that was a dud, the rest of the haul looks great. Awesome to see Cybertron Defence Scattorshot, I've briefly handled a Dropshot and I really want Scattorshot in particular.

I have with dropshot and scattershot now. Scattershot has the better deco imo.

I see a trend with these X-over figures. Overpriced and to add insult to injury, bad quality. It was so with all of them so far.

Got Takara Tomy Selects Abominus in today from Pulse. It's very strange seeing GS05 on the box even though his release is between GS11 and GS12. Time to announce some new ones, only one left is Soundblaster.

Kanrabat, I don't seem to recall hearing about bad quality with Ectotron or Gigawatt. And I've heard no in-hand reports about Maverick... But the crossover figures are fairly blatantly licenseflated when it comes to their prices.
With regards to Will's woe with X-Spanse... is "bits falling off" also a problem for Studio Series Jetfire?


Got this guy on Wednesday the ninth. Had to resort to Amazon because of the TF sections at the local Targets being picked over and slow to restock.

I was on the fence about SS86 Hot Rod because of my misgivings about the faux-parts chest, but an argument with a detractor ultimately pushed me to get him so I could properly evaluate him. I still have my misgivings about the chest given some of his issues, and I think he could have been better executed in some areas...
But I'm still happy to have him (and I certainly don't think the shoulders are as "restricted" as the detractor made them out to be; they're not really more so than is average for that style of outward should movement), and I appreciate why he's at the Voyager price point: comparing him to my WFC Deluxes, no way could a Deluxe's development budget have achieved this kind of Hot Rod. Although it is a bit unfortunate for Canadian fans, because of currency making Voyagers be twice the price of Deluxes there.

Anyway, expect a pictures-and-text review of him soon!

In Canada, voyagers are 39/44$can, deluxes are 29/33$can and leaders are 69/75$can. That in mind, the X-Over figures are grossly overpriced for the quality.

My personal experience with Gigawatt gave me a cheap feeling toy with the front wheels popping off too easily in transformation. Plus he can't property hold his gun. And the energy thing won't attach. 60$can for the thing.

The first Ectotron was 60$can. Borderline tolerable. But the second one is a whopping 90$can and he can't property wear his backpack. Absolutely unforgivable.

Finally, X-Panse (or something) is 90$can. Not too bad of a price difference but all reviews I saw and the general experience tell that he feel cheap and is way more fragile than SS Jetfire.

No opinion on Maverick. Canada barely had him in E.B Games.

Went to 3 different Walmart’s and didn’t see any Studio Series wave 5 (the only SS I saw at all was a single 86 Hot Rod), but I found some movie figures I’ve been wanting to get for a while now at a collectors store!

These are my cumulated hauls from last weekend.

Appart the 3P stuff shown in another thread, I got some interesting stuff.

First, I finally decided to get G1 Broadside. The jet mode is not too bad and the bot is more than a brick. HE'S A TOTEM! Hilarious and I'm so happy!
(BTW, Ignore the green thing behind. One piece was missing and he ended up being returned to the store.)
Maybe I lost him, maybe I sold him, but I just had to get back FOC Grimlock.



So I think I have all the molds of FOC Grimlock. If I'm missing one, I don't know it.



I also got Beast Wars Manterror. He's absolutely fantastic! And at 20$CAN for him 100% complete, I couldn't say no.



Everything was bought at my local Geek Store. I really love the fact that I can get rid of many toys that I no longer care about to get some generous store credit!

Yesterday, Amazon FINALLY delivered my Kingdom Dinobot! This time, the thing was put in an envelope and was used as a football by the delivery guys.



By moral principle, I'm pissed but in reality I don't care because the box go straight to the recycling bin.
Dinobot have the best bot mode ever. But the raptor look like it was savagely gutted by some beast. So far, he's the weakest link in my Kingdom Beast collection. I didn't expected that.



As for today, I went TF hunting with my friend at the flea market and other places. Flea markets are weird. You have those rare sellers who know the "true value" of transformers. Then there's those who overestimate their garbage (50$CAN for a scrap BW Optimus Primal LOL). The ones you really want to find are those sellers who have nice stuff and who just don't give a fox.
So I found that seller who had a PCC Bombshock and a Classic Optimus Prime. Both in perfect condition but missing all accessories. How much? How about 2$CAN for Bombshock and 3$CAN for Optimus sound?

To finish the hunt, we went to other places and I finally found something at E.B Games with Select "G2" Megatron. 36$CAN plus taxes with my Edge Platinum membership was as low as I'll ever get for him so I went for it.



That Megatron is super nice! I added a on both the tank turret and his chest to make him complete.



Today was a good day!

When I bought my Dinobot, I could not get the cardback to fold back into the box the way it was when sealed. I didn't know HasTak required us to know origami lol.

Not sure if these belong here, but they are not 3rd party so... here is is. I got some custom transformers from transformersmoviecustoms on instagram. Sadly I wasn't able to pick up all I wanted, but I still got a few that I really like. I got DotM Megatron and Ratchet, Brawl, and a completely custom protofrom solider. These don't transform, but for the low price I paid and for supporting him, I am more than happy. Did anyone else on here manage to snag some from him?

Made from original toys and most of the original toy is still there. So yeah, I think these totally count.

Never heard of the guy but that's some nice work despite the sacrifice of the transformation. A shame because that's like, 50% of the toy removed. But then again, there's paint shipping and changing tolerances to deal with.

I make customs too, but I'm more interested into making "Frankensformers" that still transform.

I think just the three Takara Tomy uses. The TT FOC Grimlock gold paint over the gold plastic and more red in bot mode. Then there's the red FOC Fireblast Grimlock. The TT Adventure Grimlock has a different deco from the Hasbro version.





Once things are back to normal I hope get those last two from Mandarake. TAV Grimlock is around $30 there and the Fireblast figure is around $40 which is way cheaper than they were a few years ago.

A Walgreens about 20 minutes away from me still had Bluestreak, so I picked him up. I had got him for my son during Christmas time so I was pleasantly surprised to see he was still around. He looks good with Barricade. I'll have to get Smokescreen to go with them.
Also picked up B-127. Really cool little dude. I dig the Cybertronian car mode.

Unfortunately, Japan Post are still in herpederp mode so anything from Mandarake would cost you over 75$CAN in DHL shipping and import fees. No Amazon deal here.

I also looked up those 3 on eBay and they're all around 150$CAN shipped each.

I also got Galvatron from Target today (was looking for Rhinox, but this is better) and the two on the shelf both had the shoulders assembled properly so those are definitely out there in the wild.
