BANG! I sniped myself a 100% complete, perfect condition G2 Dreadwing and Smokescreen set... for 41$CAN (30$US) plus taxes and shipping!
That is one hell of a steal! Congrats!
That Battletrap is giving me custom ideas, and I love the seasonal Star Wars figures.

Excellent haul all around, lots of good stuff there. How does the SamMakesToys shoulder kit perform?
-Kanrabat- wrote:Gotta love when former "rare" and highly sought after toys become "outdated" by more recent releases.
I prepared my sniper rifle to snipe on a eBay listing, only to be THE ONLY BIDDER.
So I won the exclusives Earthrise Ratchet and Ironhide. All and all, with shipping and taxes, both were the price of a regular voyager without taxes. Meaning around 47$CAN each. A very good price all things considered.
Once I transformed them, I can confirm that the SS86 version are far, far superior.
Regardless, these shall remain "pure", without Repros nor upgrades.
I'm glad to finally have them.
Ooh, good job snagging them.
I'd personally like to get hold of these two as project figures. While as-is they may be worse than the Studio Series versions, they're probably better starting points for making a Ratchet and Ironhide with fully-fledged G1 toy-style platforms.
Roadbuster wrote:Completed my Insecticons with Legacy Evolution Bombshell. They lookin' rather spiffy as a proper group now.
Hasbro seriously needs to reissue these, especially Shrapnel and Bombshell. They seem to have been scalped pretty badly.
-Kanrabat- wrote:I FOMO'd on Joe Soundwave so I went to my local geek store to get rid of some older bots to trade it. I got some leftover money for something else. Lo and behold, he just got a vintage Takara Beast Wars 2 C-16 Lio Convoy! It was expensive but I just had to buy it.
Lio is HUGE and GLORIOUS! So many gimmicks! The gold is a bit scary but I never heard that Leo had GPS.
The Legacy is tiny in comparison.
Now that I have both the vintage and the Legacy, might as well get the MP. I heard it's reasonably priced.
I've heard it's also rather un-fun to transform due to the anime-based transformation shenanigans with the mane.
Anyway, congrats on OG Lio Convoy. Would you say the Legacy version pales even more next to the OG than Kingdom Optimus Primal does next to the original BW Ultra-class version?
-Kanrabat- wrote:I randomly went to my local geek store. Lo and behold, SS86 Scrapheap was there! I scuffed with disdain at the Reactivate sets but seeing the Starscream & Bee pack in person, I just couldn't resist the siren call.
Good finds both. I look forward to getting my hands on Scrapheap, especially considering a recent acquisition.
Emerje wrote:Now if I could just find a Studio Series Snarl at a reasonable price. Sucks when the previous figures in a set are easy to find (not so much Grimlock now, but at the time he was everywhere) yet I've never seen Snarl in person and the online stores have long since dried up. Not entirely surprising, all of the 2023 SS Leaders (Scourge, Snarl and Optimus Primal) have been in short supply, I haven't seen any of them in stores. Meanwhile all of the 2022 SS Leaders (Starscream, Sludge and the Fallen) have been on clearance and can still be found discounted.

It's because of the completely idiotic decision to make Sludge's casemate be a Coronation Starscream refresh that NOBODY ASKED FOR - despite stores taking ages to unload the original Coronation Starscream shipment even when he went on heavy clearance - instead of refreshing an
actually in-demand figure like oh, I don't know, SLUG.
Thanks for nothing, whoever made that call.
Thanks to Shelfwarmscream, it took a lot of the big box store locations til basically a YEAR after Sludge's street date to actually get him on shelves. And that in turn has held up Snarl getting shelved at those locations... It's a mess.

Now for some catchup on my end:
First, Cybertron Drill Bit:
He arrived before Christmas but didn't get opened til after because family trip. Missing an arm, but I'm confident I can fabricate a replacement and it meant he was $20 instead of $40 and FINALLY HE'S MINE LIKE HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN 2010... Stupid negligent smeghead seller... *twitch*
Using some of my Christmas money, I snagged the Recon Mini-Con team with open card (it was actually the cheapest listing available). Nice to finally have them, my Cybertron show character collection is that much more complete now.
Got one of Cybertron Soundwave's guns as a gift, still need the other though.
And most recently, I finally nabbed Studio Series '86 Junkyard ("Junkheap"). He's neat, I love all the retooling work done, and I look forward to getting my hands on Scrapheap too.
