What a piece of **** he is.
You don't like him then?
No. I think he's terrible. He looks good in robot mode which is ultimately all I want him for, but I can't remember the last time I was this disappointed by a toy of any kind.
What don't you like about him?

What flaw can he possibly have?

Working from the assumption that "everything" won't be accepted, the stickers which basically are his alt mode are already torn, right out of the package. His tank mode is just dumb; if it were a fan mode I'd have found it cute, but it's an official mode that is so, so weak that I feel it's even too much to call it an afterthought. His body is ridiculous looking, with its giant forearms and tiny legs. His weapon is too small to look any good either as a robot weapon, and certainly not as a tank barrel.
I think he's garbage, but I think all the cassette-esque figures are junk from the looks of them. I'm not into Blaster or Soundwave out of this line, so for me, it's not much of an issue. Like I said, I only picked up Rewind because my wife thinks the Rewind/Chromedome story is cute. I do like the idea that his alt mode is basically a mini recorder though.

So...I'm guessing Stripes would be a spawn of Unicron to you?

I'm not trying to sound like I'm no fun, but I don't know what that means.
Like I said, I don't have any interest in the cassette figures other than Rewind basically because my wife thinks it'll be cute to have the two of them standing next to each other, which is an idea I completely agree with. I think that the animal mode cassette figures look totally bad, but I have no intention of experiencing them myself, so I'm not bothered by it.

And promptly forgot about him on the back seat until today!

Forgettable character is forgettable.
I'm with Dagon, robot mode = good, everything else, meh.

And I have Clobber, and he is so fun. He looks awesome on Hardhead's body!

Well I am Australian. It's kinda what we're known for.

Firstly, his altmode is a smartphone. You can tell due to the screen and apps found on it, along with that central button. You also have a nicely sculpted power button on the side and buttons to regulate sound level. While it makes no damn sense for this object to interact with a boombox, I see it as 2 independent things. Like in G1, they can git into Soundwave or Blaster, and for a new generation they have a totally new alt mode. Most of these toys already have the ultimate version of the G1 casette that turns into a bot with the masterpeice line, so doing that again would have been redundant (and inferior). So instead we have something new that new fans can enjoy too (and be lured to muahaha).
Rewind's third mode is better than most third modes out there. Sure as hell beats Gen Whirl's or Straxus' and I am thiking Energon Shockwave's too. I mean, it has dedicated parts such as the tracks. It rolls. It has ports for a minifigure to stand on. And best of all it homages both the fact that there were casette tanks in G1 and that Rumble/Frenzy/Eject/Rewind were minitanks in their previous classic version.
The gun is super narrow, yeah, but I do love the weapon storage in robot mode and I find it really cute how they were able to connect it in tank mode. Its not a plug but a hinge, thats pretty original.
there is the cool added detail of that camera on his head which gives him that extra MTMTE look. Dagon, let your wife know about that detail if she doesnt already, its a really nice touch.

I've found that TF hunting is a lot like looking for romance. It's when you're NOT looking for it, and NOT trying, that you're most successful at finding it. Or it finds you.
Look who found me today.![]()

No, Rewind's alt mode is like a mini cassette recorder, like the kind you'd use in a college lecture. You can tell because of the mini cassette tape that's the primary detail on the stickers.
