I was really lucky to find that minicon in a 2$CAN Village des Valleur baggie. I gave back the random garbage that was in the baggie and I kept this one. Dunno who that is nor if it came with anyone originally. But MAN, is that minicon GOOD! Muscle car, great bot mode, and a simple but fun transformation. I scored good with this one.

It's Universe Makeshift; he's part of a Mini-Con 12 pack that was exclusive to Zellers in 2008.

I finally got some new toys today (man that arm was itching bad). My 1.5 year old daughter likes dolls and babies all of a sudden and we have none at home, so I figured I would go to my thrift store to see what they had for a quick fix and found some nice dolls and these 2 small tfs:



That blue plastic on that Optimus is sooooo nice.

Anyways, once home, I found a nice package waiting for me

I never cared for MP Cheetor, but I'm jelly as hell that you found an Activator Bulkhead in the wild. I always wanted it but I refuse to pay the stupid Ebay prices.

And yeah the cheetah mode is ok but the robot mode is where he shines. Cheetah mode isnt bad though, its just not as amazing as the robot.

Man this is what's keeping me at bay with these BW MPs. The beast modes. But that repaint of Primal is slowly starting to pull me off the fence. And, if I fall off the fence there might be a hungry cheetah on the other side.

Guys, were Cheetor's head fins really that tall in the show?

I give the Beast modes a pass, as I can't see any other way to get past the limited animation of the show. I honestly think they've done an amazing job.

I let plenty of other things about other toys get by, not sure why I can't quite get past these.
The bot modes are killer though.

Its when you look at the old toys that you realize the amazing job they have done. The original cheetor's back legs in cheetah mode were just the robot legs, with all that same robot detail really obvious in the back and big stomping feet. But now, all the chettah feet are the same size with nice slender proportions. That means the robot and the beast no longer share the same parts. And that goes for the chest too. So this toy has to store an extra cheetah head in cheetah mode and yet be more slender than the original toy. And it pulls it off! And then in robot mode, that initial cheetah head and the cheeta back legs have to hide since they are no longer being used in robot mode, and he pulls it off yet again while still having a super slender robot mode. Think about it. Look at that robot mode and remember that the cheetah head you are seeing is not his beast mode head and the feet he has is not his beast mode feet, and yet they are nowhere to be seen.

Primal pulls off other amazing tricks like that, especially with how the gorilla legs look like gorilla legs this time and not just the robot legs crouched. There are some serious transformations steps involved with these two when it comes to those areas that were originally left to be the same for both modes on the original toys. If you like creativity in Transformers engineering, Cobo, these cannot be missed.

Got them from a fellow Dutch collector. The deck is a bit scratched but otherwise he's fine.
I've also got the Sixtrain reissue from Mandarake, it shipped out this morning but by SAL small parcel, it might take a while.

At one of my favorite discount nightmare blow out shops, Dirt Cheap.

Ratchet was a return to Walmart marked as "damaged". They deal in overstock, damaged boxes, returns and such. They're a mess and you have to willing to get your hands dirty to find stuff. They have a no return policy and encourage opening things up and testing them (including blind boxes). The place is great
