Went to TFNation today. Man, what a blast. Met Thew, Venus Terzo (who is lovely), Hal Rayle and Simon Furman, saw sights, talked to people and most importantly BOUGHT STUFF!

First up is a Transmetal Waspinator, whose robot mode is kinda meh but oh my goodness that wasp mode.


Next is Transmetal Tarantulas, who is amazing. Love this guy, won't be fiddling with him much though as his chrome is a bit flakey.


And finally (for figures) is an absolute holy grail of mine...

BEAST.

WARS.

RAMPAGE.

This dude. This DUUUUUDE. So cool. I love him to bits.

I won't be fiddling with any of these dudes very much because they're vintage and that chrome is NOT gonna take kindly to fingers, but they'll make gorgeous display pieces.

Also some non-figure hauls (If that's a problem please move, there's only two though)...

I finally found TR Sky Shadow. Ominous is supposed to represent Mega (or is it Giga?), correct? So when I get Overlord whenever I find him, I can put Ominous and Dreadnaut in his chest? Unless the tight Master holes in his chest are a common QC problem.

I had given up hope for finding him sealed below 300.
Thankfully one of the other members of NETCG, JetfireXL, pointed me towards a Robot Kingdom warehouse find.
Paypal was handled that night and he is now en casa.
Love those G1 repaints from eHobby.

My faves being DotM Laserbeak (never had him but wanted him), DotM Shockwave (had him and missed him), DotM Barricade (had him, missed him and though this is missing his doors it's still awesome), 2007 Landmine. Dead End is awesome but I already have him thanks to Kanrabat.

I don't know two of the Transformers at the bottom. The bright blue one and the small purple wingy one next to it. I presume Prime/RID?
EDIT: Ah I fond the blue one is Rumble from Prime. No piledrivers. ANd... nah RUMBLE IS RED THIS MUST BE FRENZY.
Ok found the purple one is Air Vehicon also from Prime. ok then.

Finding a lot like this for so cheap is always satisfying! Even if most figures don't have any guns. For me, it would be a great occasion to "try before buying". Meaning that if there's any that I find extraordinary, I'll buy again (and pay the price) just to have it 100% complete.

Best example was with my G1 Doubledealer. The naked body is cheap and easy to find, but I found it so interesting that I paid... 100$CAN more than the initial 15$CAN just to have the FULL experience. Regrets: none. G1 Doubledealer is awesome.

So, what happen to the old "naked" Doubledealer? Smash him to pieces to build customs, of course!

yeah i'm pretty pleased with this haul. Several I'm keeping myself for now and others I can resell on to cover some of my costs and stuff.

Shockwave is missing his tubey thing but to be honest I always hated things like that whether it on movie/G1 Shockwave or the DC character Bane or whatever. Though i like it on ghostbusters oddly enough. SHocky's got his cool cannon so I'm happy.

CW Blast Off is missing gun but has his hand/foot combiner piece which is possibly more important. I don't really like the toy cos it doesn't seem at all like Blast Off to me (as someone who owned the original G1 combaticons) cos well..it's not really is it? But for a CW toy it's still better than that Alpha Bravo I got a few weeks ago.


Right. According to an email i'm getting something else today I thought was coming this tuesday but it's not Transformers-related so I'll post about it in the non-TF haul topic when it's arrived and set up.

Taking advantage of BBTS' 3rd party clearance sale, I ordered TFC Toys Aiakos and Thanatos back in June, and they arrived today. So now, I have the complete Hades team, and am looking forward to assembling it.

I also ordered TFC Ares via the BBTS sale, and that should be here later this week. Yay!

Yup first ever. I have only seen the first movie. While I thought it was entertaining, I thought the characters looked bad so wasn't interested in the figures. Even though I haven't seen TLK, this megatron looked really cool. I think I'm going to get voyager prime to complement megatron, and hot rod cuz it looks cool. Maybe I'll look into some used figures from prior movies but it's low on my list at the moment.

Starting with TLK voyager Megatron and Optimus is a strong start indeed. both are EXCELLENT figures.

If you want to challenge yourself with transformations, try getting some figures from the Revenge of the Fallen or Hunt For The Decepticons lines. Many consider that generation as the pinacle of TF engineering.

Hasbro messed up and called it Rumble, But Takara's Rumble is red and Frenzy blue (a darker blue than Hasbro). I call mine Frenzy, though despite being the Hasbro. I won't be bound to animation errors from 30+ years ago despite the g1 toys and comics saying otherwise.

Something like half the toy is weapons!


Oh and my "haul" for "today" my Siege on Cybertron shipped this morning. Not bad mid-August for something that was originally scheduled for late july then delayed to "early" august...

Now it's all up to fed ex. Never had BBTS $4 flat rate before, hope it's speedy.

It will depend on where you live. BBTS is in northern Wisconsin. I'm in the south suburbs of Chicago and they usually get to me 2-3 days after the ship notification. FYI - it will be FedEx, but the service where FedEx hands it over to the post office for final delivery. In my case the package goes from BBTS, to a FedEx transfer station in Champaign, IL, then over to another station in Indianapolis, IN then transferred to my local post office (no clue why the roundabout journey).

I really didn't like the Legion Abominus, so I wasn't too excited about this. But it's a bit bigger and a bit better. It's pretty limited in what it can do, but looks pretty badass. Not to mention we're not likely to get a better version. After the coupon, I'm ok with it.
