Thanks to an awesome deal from a seller, I present to you my newest combiner limb: a preproduction sample of SG Starscream! I have a spare HFG secured from a fellow Seibertronian so he can take his rightful spot on my soon-to-be-complete combiner.

Weapon: Vibro-Axe
So an update about my MPM Megatron that arrived smashed a few days back. Looks like I will be keeping the figure and got a full refund from the seller. There are paint scratches and a piece was broken off (on the nosecone), but for the price, free, I can live with/ fix them. Overall, He is a really great figure and is a lot of fun. I love the extended gun.

Side note: Anyone have any good glue suggestions for small pieces and that doesn't leave residue?

Ahh, Botcon 2016. How I deeply regret refusing my father's offer to buy me the full set of exclusives in the display case.

#-o #-o Not my smartest moment.
You know, as a kid I never made the connection between the G1 Sideswipe toy my brother passed down to me and the characters in the Beast Wars show on TV, until Michael Bay had Sideswipe as a Corvette.

I only happened to get to this one, not realizing it was the last one, because I was able to bribe my parents with a small visit to my nearby great-aunt.
Hubby, fiance at the time, also greatly enjoyed the short trip that was also his suggestion.

More Microns to slap together! Plus my favorite mold of last year, with what I think is a killer deco. And displays and effects pieces that are not only cheap (financially) but work really well with TFs.

I was feeling a bit overwhelmed and guilty at the time, and the deal was the general admission was my B-Day present and I was paying for everything else I wanted. My father, by this point had already upgraded to the early admission for all of us, and had tried to sell me on getting the Judd Nelson experience, which at the time I didn't even pack my G1 Roddy Prime because I was more focused on David Kaye. Who I am still trying to hunt down to meet at a convention, because the Botcon staff never updated the website until the Saturday I was there that David was only there Friday. My parents were also having fun exploring, and the line for the exclusive booth at 10-ish in the morning was already about 2 hours long, so I didn't want to cut down on their fun.

But, yeah, I was kinda an idiot.

I was just rubbing it in a bit, but seriously...it was a BotCon set... It was nice of your dad to do all that for you, so I guess I see why you would feel hesitant...if it were me I would have taken him up on the offer and paid him back later. And yeah, you should have met Judd Nelson as well. If I had the opportunity to go, I'd have had him sign my Breakfast Club DVD as well as TF:TM. I did get to meet David Kaye in 2011 and he signed some of my Beast Wars stuff. Very nice and patient guy.

The funny thing is after Botcon, my husband and I kinda wound up accidentally stalking Gregg Berger. In a span of two years we ran into him three or four times, so I've got a small corner market on his signature.

If I'd be the dad with spare cash, I'd had pretended up 'til this point that I hadn't bought the set. Then this Xmass, I'd wrap the set I'd bought anyway and finally, after all these years, put in under the Xmass tree.

Now that would be some long term planning! :ic$:

My Dad is crazy enough to pull stuff like this, but much like the Lilo and Stitch VHS (Primus I'm getting old :-( ) that he bought and left in a drawer for 10 YEARS before giving it to me, if it were to happen it would be some years down the line. Otherwise, my Dad has kinda returned the favor by, when my husband couldn't go, being my convention buddy and he's been my end of the day "I only have this much money, and I'm trying to buy my daughter this. Can we work out a deal?"

I still kinda owe him for my 100% complete boxed G1 OP that he scored for $100, and after selling my old PC the total became $50 :-D .

Anyway, I had a rough day yesterday. Work had an armed intruder lock down for most of the day, and I decided to have a bit of retail therapy today.
G1 Jetfire.jpg
Whiter than Tigatron!

I was surprised this guy was still at my one local store, and he seemed whiter than I remember.

Now, to save up for an after X-Mas run for the $450 G1 Fort Max I saw :-$ .

That's how most MIB Transformers come to be. People buy them as gifts and then find them many years later in a closet or attic. Around seven years ago my best friend's coworker at Kmart who had been there since the 80s handed him MIB Getaway and Joyride and a few other random things (KO GoBots, some mini Godaikins, and a GoBots Scales with a vender label on it, probably intended as a sample or for a display) she found in her attic and he turned around and gave them to me since he doesn't collect Transformers (I've paid him back many times over in computer upgrades and tech support).

Your parents sound great, mine have never approved of any of my hobbies. Toys, comics, video games, anime, wrestling, all kids stuff not anything adults should be doing. I was basically kicked out of the house when I was 21 over it because they just saw it as me being wasteful with money even though I had a job, a vehicle, was going to an actual university, and paying my own bills. Ended up dropping out of school so I could work more hours so I could afford a nice apartment and new vehicle. In the end I bought the house next door to them so I didn't do too bad for myself and don't resent them or anything, but I do sometimes wonder what life would be like if I had their support. I'm sure a lot of people can relate to that.

OK, enough of that. Picked up Cyberverse Deluxe Optimus Prime at Walmart tonight. I was choosing between him or Hotrod since there was only one each left of them, decided Optimus was more likely to sell so I grabbed him. Still need to get Thunderhowl, Grimlock and Hotrod to complete the line. You can tell this is the Deluxe line they're confident in selling well since it's still sold at full price while the Deluxe Generations lines are all discounted.

I got one of my Grails in this weekend. It is RotF Gears! I know that he is not a hard to get figure but he is one that I remember hunting and looking for back in 2009 every time that I went to a store. I was never able to find him (I was 10 at the time), but now I finally tracked one down on Ebay for a great price ($11). It feels so good to finally have him in hand and he will be proudly displayed with my wreckers.

Now I just need to get a RTS Lugnut (for a decent price), then I should be good with older figures for a while.

Time to post about a week of hauls.

First off, Machine Wars Sandstorm with something... nice.

MW Sandstorm is a brick, sure. But it's fun to have some G1 goodness for the price of a retail figure. I know MW is not G1, but the molds are.
I've yet to unpack and try out the sexy bot.

Next are some Ultra(?) class Cyberverse figures. Thunderhowl and Rack-N-Ruins. Bought from Amazon on sale.
Thunderhowl is absolutely fantastic and may be the best figure of it's category this year. RnR, not so much. I could have saved that 25$CAN.

Image

Then, there's the G1 Blaster reissue from Walmart. I just can't beleives that it's regular price is only 40$CAN after seeing Soundwave, and Optimus, and Astrotrain start at 70$CAN. Because I already have a (very) used G1 Blaster already, I'm keeping that one sealed to have some G1 in box thing on my G1 shelf. I'd love to have some cassettes now.

Also, a vintage G1 Triggerbot Windswepper from my local geek store. Because why not?

Finally a trio of Cyberverse deluxes from Winners/Marshalls. At 15$CAN each, I finally decided to get them. I could had Shockwave too, but I already have enough of him and I'm satisfied. Plus I give zero fox about the BAF.

At first, I felt like the figure were ultra light and ultra cheap. But when fiddling with them, I was pleased at how solid they are in fact.

Bee is nice, but his transformation is not really intuitive.

Optimus is pretty standard, but he's excellent in his if-its-not-broke-dont-fix-it approach. One of the best smaller scout/deluxe Optimus.

Megatron is a show stopper. FINALLY a small G1-ish tank megatron that does everything right. I was blown away by that figure. One of the BEST tank Megatron ever made. If not, THE best tank Megatron. All sizes and all lines included.
