Greasepit and Hot House being Modulators is pretty much a given. For those names to surface after all these years with Ironworks and Airwave Modulators in ER it would be a great WTF moment in Transformers history for them to be anything else. Airwave and Ironworks were made after we got their counterparts in the Micromaster box set (Airwave was renamed Overair after his Japanese version), it really wouldn't take much more than for them to make a second Air Strike Patrol so we can repurpose Tailwind into Hot House and a second Off Road Patrol to make Greasepit out of Mudslinger. Unfortunately they already did Nightflight in the box set so that can't happen now. Seems unlikely we'll ever get Tailwind. Maybe if they did a Monster Truck Patrol and repainted Greasepit from Hydraulic that would work out well enough.

How would people feel if Bumblebee got the off road Beetle alt mode found on the Pretender?

The big nubby tires and a reenforced bumper would be a nice change of pace. A few more minor alterations to the VW design and maybe an exposed engine would look pretty good.

Perhaps thrown in the roof rack. I'd buy it.

That could be how Bumblebee would be bumped up to Deluxe pricing. Removable front bumper that gives him a bit of height in robot mode, maybe a G1 toy styled mask, and the engine could double as a "jet pack" in robot mode, plus a pistol. I think that'd be a pretty fun figure. Though... Speaking of Pretender Bumblebee, I'd love a voyager set that includes a more articulated shell. Though that's so unlikely that I'm not gonna hold my breath

Too many
Ok, out of the Siege mold we have:
Starscream
Thundercracker
Skywarp
Red Wing
Ion Storm
Nova Storm
Acid Storm
7 in total.
And yes to the re-release of the Clones! Autobots too please, but then I'd have doubles if I were to hunt down the Titans Return box sets... I have the original Classic Deluxe Seekers, so I'm good. Skywarp needs a new hinge for the cockpit tho.
dont forget about hotlink coming out for the netflix series so 8 total for siege

Despite the cartoon and comics portraying him as a standard Bug, that's actually what his original toy was a chibi version of. At least, the exposed engine part, dunno about offroad

Even if, for the sake of argument, Hasbro DOES decide to make a Goldbug, why in the world would that be INSTEAD OF and not IN ADDITION TO a standard G1 '84 Bumblebee??

Did everyone get enough Smashdown, she's been $6 on Amazon for a while now.
TR Bumblebee was a cool update but I would happily drop $20 on a new Bumblebee with accessories like Cliffjumper. That's something that has stuck out with this trilogy to me is the accessories. Much nicer than the Titan's Return weapons that had the combining seat gimmick for the titan masters or the CW and PotP hands/feet things. All the guns Astrotrain came with were really nicely designed. Same for the Datsuns with the shoulder guns and lightbars. Impactor's hook and gun. Ironhide's hammer and Ratchet's wrench and over the shoulder repair gun. A whole bunch of cool accessories.

Pretty sure the engine sticker was a Hasbro addition, the original Micro Change figures had different stickers on the back of things like slogans and flags just like their Choro-Q counterparts. The Bumblebee mold was always meant to be a regular VW Beetle.

The off road Choro-Q looked like this.
Note the light position and bigger bumper. Entirely different from Bumblebee.

I thought they would be the Earthmode 2-Pack though, not this one. Also note that the description in their listing soft-confirms the existence of more Earthrise Seekers, further confirming the leaks. The clones are an odd choice though, wouldn't it have made more sense to do the 2-pack of Fastlane and Pounce instead, to go with the Walgreen set? I probably won't get either of these, although my girlfriend might snag those Seekers to go with her Siege Screamer.ZeroWolf wrote:so which rumoured listings have we still not seen yet?
Selects
Deluxe Rotorstorm
Deluxe Hot House
Deluxe Hubcap *
Deluxe Mercenary Bugbite
Deluxe Roritchi
Voyager G2 Megatron
Retail
Voyager Seeker Thrust
Amazon
"Alternate Universe" Optimus Prime
Earthmode 2-Pack
Unknown (Could be any of the other 3 categories)
Deluxe Exhaust
Deluxe Greasepit
SDCC
GI Joe & Transformers set
* I'm starting to wonder if Hubcap will be a MW-based Hoist repaint instead of the Minibot everyone is expecting, since there have yet to be any Selects figures who share/repeat molds with each other and as of what we know right now, Bugbite would have to be a Cliff repaint due to lack of Bumblebee.
Thank you!
There's more here than I thought
Wouldn't a release of a Bee in ER just upset people who wanted a weird saucer shaped car in Siege

I knew we weren't gonna get Bee or Wheeljack in SIEGE thanks to them sticking to the cartoon robot modes.
Who knows, maybe they'll just do like they are with the Clones and do a slightly-tweaked reissue of the Legends version.
Because a standard '84 Bee was covered fairly well by Titans Return Bee, who Cliffy seems to have been designed to scale with. That and wishful thinking that they won't make another standard Bee mold yet.AcademyofDrX wrote:Even if, for the sake of argument, Hasbro DOES decide to make a Goldbug, why in the world would that be INSTEAD OF and not IN ADDITION TO a standard G1 '84 Bumblebee??

I'm still betting on a Bumblebee figure since it's a no brainer there will be one in either this line or the next.
Especially when you consider he hasn't had a Generations toy since TR which at this point of time was a long time ago, we get Primes/Megatrons/Starscreams frequently and we will get a Bumblebee at some point, espicailly since he is set to star in the upcoming Netflix WFC show which is populated with characters from the toys besides seemingly him and Elita-1 and Elita 1 only sorta-doesn't count because her design is not the Prime Wars one which in my opinion I like the design better then her original since her being a jet is wicked and would love for it to be her mainstay to make her a more distinct character then Arcee as well as to keep her primary color as a red instead of mostly pink.
The gap between TR Bee and the last mainline Generations figure before that was 2013-2016, not counting the 2015 Cyber series figures which were not really part of the main generations line nor were they widely available.
2016-2020 is a long time without a Generations Bumblebee figure, it's going to happen at some point very soon.

Like anything that would depend on the individual, I think more people would be annoyed though since the ones who don't like Bee are mostly those on the long term fan side of things rather then the general audience/kids who are the main people who buy the retail toys.

Late to all this stuff, so here goes:
Seekers, hell yeah. I'm not a huge fan of how small the Classic Seekers are compared to the rest of my bots, so will be a welcome upgrade. Plus none of my Classics have the null rays (second hand comes with sacrifices).
Clones, could have done with last year. Ended up buying one of them through a private seller. Already got them so not bothered, but I think it's a good idea as a lot of people missed out on them, especially in the UK as the Siege on Cybertron set never came out here (I think that's the one).
In talk about Bumblebee, I would love a remake of Bumblebee as I feel the TR version doesn't really fit in with the rest of the bots, and doesn't really look like the G1 toy. I don't think Bumblebee can really be called "overdone" in the Generations line, throughout all of the Prime Wars line he only got one figure. It is the other lines that abuse the hell out of Bumblebee!

Yeah, I'm not sure why it's even a question as to whether we'll get a new BB toy. Cliff's toy has BB details. BB is super popular. They're giving most of the main G1 cast new toys. It's a no-brainer, really.

The thing is, Hasbro doesn't especially like to do (and I don't need a dozen examples of exceptions to the rule) multiple similar redecos out on sale at the same time. Its about toy recognition as "The yellow guy" and "the red guy". Since we are already getting a yellow repaint of Cluffjumper as Hubcap, it seems highly unlikely we'll be getting a. Simultaneous retool/co-tool of Bumblebee as well. A new mold that borrows a forearm? Sure I could see that. Might even be in this line, and that would make a ton more sense for Bug Bite than a random CJ retool.
How many slots are left in the mainline waves? Siege had 3 Weaponizers, it seems logical based on that we'd get the orphaned Greasepit in the Mainline if there are slots left. If we get a Bumblebee, he'll almost have to go there. He is too important for Brand Recognition to be an exclusive.
And I wpuld love the Helicopter backpack.

Well the Con clones is definitely great news for people like me, who didn’t get the Takara figures. And since I’m a big sucker for Seekers, I guess Skywarp and Thundercracker are pretty much aimed at me.

I was gonna skip the earth mode Seekers until I saw how closely they replicate the OG Classics mold. It might sound counterintuitive, but that kinda makes me want them. That mold is so good even to this day that I am totally on board with a bigger version of it. It is admittedly annoying that I have the Siege versions of the main three, but the molds are different enough that I might be able to justify it in my brain. We’ll see...

Are we really doubting there will be an Earthrise (or part three) Bumblebee? That defies all logic and evidence to date.
RE: Skywarp and Thundercracker - I had all the classics seeker jets. For years they were all I thought I needed. When I switched to Masterpiece for the four or five years, I got all the seekers. I got the original three Siege seekers. I'm pretty much never going to have a problem getting the three to six seekers.
Because they're staple characters, I don't suffer from "annoyance" that I bought them in Siege, even after I owned them as Masterpieces or Classics before that. I was and am happy with what I bought. This goes for other mold/tooling sharers as well. Should I ever get "annoyed" I simply won't buy the new ones, or sell off the old ones if I don't want both, but I'm kinda into this WFC thing as a collection in three parts. I can't get everything, but will get everything I can.

I can't get everything, but will get everything I can.

See, I feel the same way. What we got in Siege was TETRAJET seekers, that radically different vehicle mode just by itself is enough to justify the purchase in my mind. If somebody doesn't want to buy them that is perfectly fine too.
For me personally am going to wait until the coneheads drop to pick this new mold up. But that comes down to aesthetical preferences, the classics/generations mold never blew me away super hard and the only version I own is Dirge so you can see my reasons for holding out til they're shown
If'n you please, take a peak at my review channel, am just getting it off the ground
