I'm split 50/50, each one ticks a different set of boxes for me. I'd get the ER just because of accessibility.

Goes without saying, the G1 figures got new wings and that's been the tradition since. I do wonder how they'll pull off the head.

I kinda like the new Hoist better, but I don't like the character enough to rebuy the figure. I wanna be more choosy about my purchases nowadays...

Even though I'm failing at that on the more pricy buys...

Well, I passed on T30 Hoist because I think he's ugly.

Maybe you can trade your T30 one to Will.

I really like the t30 hoist though I don't have him - just a qc error trailbreaker and a diaclone red version. However it might as well be a completely different character (even the baynus repaint tow truck looked more like hoist) and I'm not keen on the autobot symbol disappearing for bot mode.
Ill be picking up earthrise hoist when toy shops reopen but don't feel the need to buy it online at the mo. Would be nice to get some diaclone color variants of the earthrise version (especially the purple wrecker).

That last Skids figure is going to be hard to beat tho.

Prime vs Prime somehow got a hold of a ER Skylynx. Seems to be a decent figure. Still wish they did Tidal Wave instead.

IMO what Tidal Wave needs more than a partnerless Commander-class figure in a primarily neo-G1 line is someone to make a knees kit (seriously, the Unicron Trilogy is such an untapped market for stuff like this) and repro his missiles :P

A big boat Commander-class toy would be nice to see at some point, mind you, but given that CHUG has always been mostly G1-based I think it's entirely appropriate that Sky Lynx got a new toy first. Especially after what a joke of an update his CW toy was.

You know what'd be neat? A titan class Tidal Wave. They've run out of proper citybots anyway, right? Unless they decide to do Combiners at titan class.

Well, there's still BlackZarak and Metrotitan to do (although I'd rather see a Metroplex reissue before Metrotitan, because painful eBay prices are painful  ).

Overlord is technically a citybot too, but he's more suited to Commander-class.

On the one hand, a Titan Tidal Wave would certainly be impressive and imposing. On the other hand, the Titan class could maybe do with a hiatus for a while.

Only problem with a titan tidal wave is that it wouldn't be able to combine with megs/galv though I doubt they would make a commander combinable with the cw leader megs. More like all combiners redone in tian scale so they can all match devy/predaking $$$$££££

While a worthy candidate, being Cyberverse at this time frame means he won't appear in the generations line... Now if IDW did a more G1ish design for him then all bets would be off ;)

I have a few ideas outside of G1 bots for big boys, and we honestly can move past the 1980's:

-Beast Wars Orcanoch/Airachnid
-Armada Tidal Wave
-Animated Omega Supreme
-Dark of the Moon Ark as a playset/new transforming movie bot
-Prime Nemesis/Trypticon
-FOC Metroplex/Tryp/Omega
-Cyberverse Iaconus
-Cyberverse Croaton

While I'd love an animated Omega Supreme, if he's not done in the same style, then it wouldn't be the same. There's no way they'd continue the animated style into generations.

I'd be fine with it as it'd save a fair bit of money, but if Hasbro are going to give it a break, I'd rather they do that after the third part, mostly because I'd want to see what they could do with a couple other characters. That said given the fact that part three's titan is "rumored" (mostly using "clues" from interviews with Warden, and the current design philosophy) to be a more G1 accurate version of Metroplex, I could take it or leave it. I can definitely see a use for that, but T30/Legends Metroplex works fine for me.

But that feels like a missed opportunity to make a Transformer look like a proper Joe vehicle. We had a few years of things the other way around at SDCC, but Hasbro always comes up short on doing it the other way around. We've had some thinly veiled tributes like CW Viper and Energon Snowcat, but never anything proper, instead preferring to go with Star Wars and Marvel crossovers. I think we've waited long enough.
Emerje

How about going one further than a Random Transformer? What I was proposing was for a HISS Tank, that transforms into Megatron. A [scaled down] USS Flagg with a Broadside altmode. Take the Joe designs and retrofit a Transformer into them. Not just a redeco over an existing Transformer design.

Oh, absolutely this would be the ideal, but that's more of a retail thing not an SDCC thing since we rarely see extensive retooling or unique molds at SDCC. Something I've always loved the looks of and would appreciate a figure of is the Night Raven Starscream, he's super imposing and stealthy looking.

Image

As far as a new Titan goes, there's always Primus. He'd be a good fit for 2021 to go with Unicron, he'd of course be shorter, but somehow that suits him and he wouldn't be incredibly shorter at 24".

Image

He would basically be a robot inside a ball, but maybe they could add an inch to make up for his simpler transformation and lack of third mode (he does NOT need a third mode). Plus if they're really accurate there'd be a bunch of intentional gaps in the planet's surface it doesn't need to be a perfect sphere.

Here's one I haven't seen anyone mention, how about something original? People have been asking for a new Straxus figure, why not go all the way and pair him with a transforming Darkmount? Maybe Straxus could both transform into a tank/canon thing and also something that resembles his own head to make Darkmount look vaguely like Straxus as well. They could possibly even repurpose it from Scorponok, remove the obvious scorpion parts (claws replaced, scorp legs and tail tip removed) to make a castle mode out of it, basically a brick with towers, and basically the same base mode.

Of course they could just say screw scale and do a massive Optimus Prime. Maybe even a proper Star Convoy since he has a base mode for Micromasters.
