I just got the last two guys from ER Wave 1, and can't decide which I love more. hoist has an awesome callback-style transformation, although the front of the truck mode feels a tad empty. Cliff is probably the coolest Deluxe of this wave, transformation-wise, which is saying something because I looooove Wheeljack. I'm just wondering if they could have put some more plastic in the package; maybe a few more guns, or a club or something? Cliff needs more weapons.

All I truly want to know at this point is who they're going to redeco/remold CJ into: Tap-Out, Hubcap, Glyph, Bumper? 'Cause whoever it's going to be, I'm going to buy extras to paint into whomever is left out.

Would love a glyph

A Hubcap is rumored, as well as a Goldbug I think?

Hubcap and Bugbite have Selects listings, the idea of Goldbug came from talking here a week or so ago about whether people think a Bumblebee is coming or not.

Still a "bug"

Btw in all this stuff going on I lost track of things: is there any place in Canada where the Netflix redeco are available? That Seeker does interest me, as do its Battle Master buddies. Then again I got a bad case of Battle Master addiction.

Fellow Canadian here, they should be Walmart exclusives like the States I think.

Similar to the wave of figures that Siege Bluestreak, Soundblaster and "cartoon colors" Prime and Megatron were sold at.

Just wondering, has anyone noticed a change in in-stock/delivery dates for the Earthrise figures they have on order? I happened to check Amazon and everything TF related has been pushed back to September the earliest with a lot of figures coming in November. Originally the dates were May and August with a few coming in October/November.

So is this a manufacturing issue, because shipping if really inconsistent. I know Amazon is prioritizing some stuff but I got a replacement Elita-1 in a couple of days while monitor screen wipes took over a week. BBTS sent me a three pack of Terrorcons to complete Abominus and it was stupid quick delivery, fastest I have ever had from them. And I know Covid responses have also been all over the place. Our governor took forever to shut down nail salons because his wife owns one :BANG_HEAD:

So I got Astrotrain this weekend when i grabbed groceries, and opened him up and played with him.

and... he is not very good.

I don't know what it is about the robot mode, but it feels off. The head feels too big, the torso too small, the arms weird, the legs not very well balanced. I'm also not a fan of the colors, they just don't seem to work in robot mode.

Shuttle mode/base mode isn't really impressing me either, the shuttle backend isn't very good, and it just isn't as fun to swoosh around as other figures.

Train mode is his highlight, I love the train mode, even if the cab area is a bit shrunk down and I wish it was a bit taller there. I love the tender, but this is the only mode where that plastic feels like it was worth it.

On that plastic note, the amount of guns feels, worthless? I would have been OK with the big gun or the 2 bigger guns, the other 3 weren't really needed and also feel like a waste.

Overall, he is weak and I feel like I wasted money on him despite my excitement for seeing him. He will be staying in train mode for the display.

Also decided that I will pass on Earthrise Hoist. I like the T30 one, and I will get the mold as Trailbreaker eventually, so it's not needed

Sorry you didn't have much fun with Astrotrain D-Max, I still think he looks fine though. Still would like to see them take another whack at updating Astrotrain for the modern era... Just in a bigger size class then what we got in Classics.

I love the steam engine, that's the part that I was excited for most. It just feels like the rest suffered for it. He deserved much better

Yeah, had the figure been an actual leader class, it would have been better. That tender is totally unnecessary.

While I don't want to open that can of worms again, Astrotrain could never be old leader Class sized because of the scale they were using. Under this scale, Astro's robot mode had to be a specific height, and once you get to that restriction, it starts to play out on the other modes. Then there's the point that they wanted to add more con base interaction for fans to play around with (or kids, the main target audience) so the tender into a launch pad plays into that.

Is it perfect no, but sometimes understanding why the designers have done these things can lessen the blow.

I truly believe Astrotrain should have remained a voyager. I don't think they did enough to justify his leader price point. I don't want him bigger, that isn't in play here. I wish they had just done the main component and left out the tender and improved the proportions and shuttle mode

He may have still suffered, they might have used the extra plastic afforded to the leader price point to add to parts count. Not a perfect explanation but unless someone can get an interview with the designers, we're not likely to know the full goings on (aside from maybe not having any voyager slots available, plus not having any easy redecos may go against him. Only one I could come up with is a toy coloured Astrotrain, similar to Shackwave in Selects)

If they'd left him as a Voyager, the shuttle mode would have remained just as bad, if not worse. So long as they stuck to both the beefy arms and the stupid @#$%ing cartoon chestplate, the shuttle mode would have had the same problems. And with the reduced mass allowance of a Voyager, there might have been even more gaps.

I think the tender (which his original toy ought to have come with as well, because HIS ENGINE MODE IS INCOMPLETE WITHOUT ONE; I would like to go back in time, find whoever decided to scrap that toy's tender, and drop Trypticon on their head. Repeatedly.) and the accessories do add enough to justify the bump to Leader-class. The mass alone does that, plus there's the play value. My only complaint is that the tender connection doesn't seem to be articulated.

You know what would make a great, chunky Leader class figure for this range, has never been redone outside of Botcon and can be retooled/redeco into an obscure form of one of the major characters in every line? Skyquake with a retool as a Starscream. When I saw POTP Starscream's bulky body and how he had combiner ports I kept thinking "Man, I bet the combiner head is Machine War Starscream". Sadly, I was wrong and we did not get Skyquake.

That would also pair very well with a possible retool of Doubledealer into Stalker... and the Machine Wars Starscream retool would pair well with a redeco of that Stalker as Machine Wars Soundwave.....

I did talk about a Goldbug figure a week or so ago, but mainly just wishful thinking. Even if they would use Cliffjumper or a new mold, I will be incredibly happy with a new Goldbug. He is one of the last few I really want/need for my Generations/CHUG headcanon collection. So many of my wants and wishes figures have been fulfilled since Combiner Wars that I am almost complete. Along with a few 3rd party ones that may never get made, like Guzzle for example.

Greetings All,

I'm actually in a rare position where I can actually pre-order a couple of items. I want to get the *big ones* out of the way as it were, Scorponok and Skylynx, since there is no chance of seeing them at retail for me. As a US Resident, the prices are all about the same to pre-order, and the order is large enough that shipping would be free on most sites, and all sites are charging tax now, so...

The big 3 I look at are Pulse, BBTS & TFSource. I have Amazon Prime as well, which would only save me on shipping, not taxes, but Scorponok & Skylynx are currently unavailable there.

My question is...which one of these is likely to get the items first? Or is there another recommended site that may get them before any of these? Any assistance is appreciated.

I've received orders from Pulse before BBTS had theirs in stock. It has only been with two orders so it is a very small sample size. Right now though, I've had in stock items ship from BBTS quicker than in stock items have shipped from Pulse.

I’d say it varies, but I’ve gotten almost everything from pulse before bbts had it in stock; beyond anything else though, I get EXTREMELY fast shipping with Hasbro, only times I’ve ordered from tfsource, it took forever to get anything, same for bbts recently, most stuff from pulse takes 2 days or less for me (living in Chicagoland), so I’d say pulse is your best way to go, especially as they don’t charge you up front like tfsource

Thank you for your responses. In lighter news I saw some Earthrise figures marked to 25% off at a walmart I don't get to often. I was excited for a moment thinking they were all reduced, but upon further examination, it was clearly only these two because the packaging was damaged, which is odd because there were others with damaged packaging not marked down...and it got me thinking of this:

If only that were true with toy packaging
