Slightly different colors? Black trailer? Backpack with guns?
I could do with that.
Well, they wouldn't necessarily change the blue and red used.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:I'm hoping for a G2 version of ER Optimus. That would be cool.

Maybe not as an electronics sound box but definitely as a missile pack.Rodimus Prime wrote:On the original, the extra piece on the trailer was a soundbox. Would you want that on this update as well?

Yeah, I would want it as well, I just wasn't sure if a part with electronics would kick up the price on the figure.Sabrblade wrote:Maybe not as an electronics sound box but definitely as a missile pack.Rodimus Prime wrote:On the original, the extra piece on the trailer was a soundbox. Oh, newly-added electronics would most certainly add to a figure's budget.Rodimus Prime wrote:Yeah, I would want it as well, I just wasn't sure if a part with electronics would kick up the price on the figure.Sabrblade wrote:Maybe not as an electronics sound box but definitely as a missile pack.Rodimus Prime wrote:On the original, the extra piece on the trailer was a soundbox. That is a good point, but also, how complex does OP's trailer really need to be? I think they hit all the necessary benchmarks with the Earthrise one. And I know a lot of peeps where sad there wasn't a roller but if that's what it takes to make the trailer package "complete" then we've got it pretty good

Think scaled down new mp optimus trailer or even the G1 trailer and then it will hit the benchmarks but with titan master compatability. There were no benchmarks hit with the earthrise one, maybe the drone being removable (tho it's not as positional on the trailer) and the shield that impacts how the trailer door opens was kind of a fail too.
*the only credit I can give it is the compatability for studio series figures.
ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:While SIEGE Magnus and Galaxy Upgrade Optimus' armor is more technically complex than ER Optimus' trailer, it also has a lot of mass-saving hollowness. And plastic mass tends to be an overriding factor...
Has anyone compared SIEGE Magnus' armor with ER Optimus' trailer on a scale yet?
Something else to consider is that SIEGE Ultra Magnus has both a simpler cab robot than ER Optimus and a moldmate to shoulder the cost burden with. ER Optimus, as far as we know, doesn't have that.
A lot of what they could have done with ER Optimus' trailer would have pushed him into Commander class, I think. Especially Titan/Prime Master compatible versions of the G1 toy's control stations, just from the extra size needed to make it work smoothly.
Rodimus Prime wrote:Forget a platform for a Titan master. Those were for previous lines. This is a new trilogy. If ER Prime had anything added, it should have been a Roller.
I can think of at least four reasons why that doesn't hold water. One is purple, pearl, and black, one is white, purple, and teal, one is white, red, and less important than the other three but really big, and one is green, purple, and gray and also really really big in both size and importance.Rodimus Prime wrote:Forget a platform for a Titan master. That nevertheless still has play interoperability with the last one.Rodimus Prime wrote:This is a new trilogy.
Who would have done what aside from being a 5mm port on wheels? That's the problem with Roller in the context of Transformers, sadly. He's a cute little rolling drone, but...Rodimus Prime wrote:If ER Prime had anything added, it should have been a Roller.
Thing is, Battle Masters and even Micromasters are too big for remakes of the Dianaut seats from the G1 Optimus trailer and G1 Roller - which is what we're talking about when we say Titan Master functionality - to be practical.Rodimus Prime wrote:I wasn't trying to say there couldn't be titan masters, but they definitely shouldn't be a line-wide gimmick. That's what the battle masters are for, isn't it?
Not everyone would agree with that. He carried the other Autobots in his trailer on occasion in the cartoon too, I think at least as often as Roller was used, and play-wise Roller wouldn't do too much on his own unless he was big.Rodimus Prime wrote:And if Warden was really going for G1 accuracy, there should have been a Roller included with the trailer. It's a more important feature of G1 Prime than being able to fit a deluxe car inside the trailer.
