I didn't like the feel of TR Scourge in hand so I sold him.
For now, my G1 do the job. But I wouldn't mind if they'd remake him properly this time.

Let me refine that comment a bit. The robot mode for G1 Scorpy seems very blockish and inarticulate compared to ER Scorponok. His scorpion mode is not bad. If I had the money, I'd get both Scorponok and Zarak (if he'll be made) because technically they're 2 completely separate characters. And it's not like Zarak would be a straight repaint of Scorponok, they would change some things, most notably the head. I assume it would still be a double headmaster like Scorponok, so I wonder what the smaller robots would be called. One of them has to be Devil Z, but which one?-Kanrabat- wrote:Rodimus Prime wrote:Really? Compared to the Titan figure, the old G1 figure looks like a Tonka toy. Unless you have a strict rule against getting more than 1 of each mold, I'd say grab ER Scorponok.
You're the first to even made that waky comparison.
But yeah, I do have a rule is no doubles for titans. I have G1 Fortmax so I sold my underwhelming CW Fortmax. I never had and don't plan to have G1 Omega, Trippy, nor 'Plex. So by getting a Select Zarak, I'd be cheating just a bit. It's the character that I really want after all.
Still, if Zarak is not announced by the time of the last batch of Scorponoks hit stores on sale (like for my Omega Supreme), I'll just get Scorpy.
As for Scourge, I also hope for a new one, preferably a voyager. That way the TR figure coukd become just a random sweep and be a troop builder.

Well, I paid the 400$CAN+ for my G1 Scorpy because I REALLY wanted him. I love every aspects of it, blockyness and all.
But for Omega Supreme, I "always wanted it" since my early childhood. But once I got a proper look at it with my adult eyes, I noped. He's just a big football with kibbles. Plus he don't transform. He simply explode in a zillion pieces like a lego set. There's a limit to partsforming. So I was glad to get only the Siege one.
As for G1 Metroplex and Trypticon, both look great but are way too expensive and would be irrelevant because I have the modern ones.
So, if Select Black Zarak happen and have remoldings compared to ER Scorponok, it would be even better. I'll finally be able to get a TRUE Black Zarak without having to buy the super expensive (and weird looking) Maketoys version.

It would be strange if we didn't get a Scourge at retail and maybe a Selects Sweep in slightly darker or lighter colors to go with the rumored Galvatron and leaked Cyclonus. If not in ER then certainly in part 3.

As to whether or not one is well liked more than the other overall, wh can say? I equally like them both.
That is true, and I understand for the point of the narrative, and Ginrai being the hero why that is the case. Although both Grand and BZ were physically smaller than their Headmasters series counterparts, they were considerably more powerful. And yes of course, BZ's power increased significantly after being possessed by Devil Z. Also, while Grand played 2nd or 3rd fiddle to Ginrai and Metalhawk, he made such significant contributions as providing the plans for the Godbomber.
The 2 part episode which is basically a tag-tam battle on the moon between Overlord & BZ vs God Ginrai and Grand Maximus is probably my favorite of the series, the one time whe Grand actually gets to fight BZ somewhat.
I figured Grand had the same problem as Omega Supreme or Metroplex in previous series. Sort of a "Superman Syndrome" you cant use them all the time, because they would always win, and finding threats big enough for them to need to be used were few and far between, without stealing the spotlight of the hero Ginrai.
I believe there was a BZ homage made form Energon Scorponok a few years back, but yeas, to have a modern titan BZ would be amazing. I look forward as the weeks go on to more Earthrise reveals overall.

Well, okay, BlackZarak technically got a new identity when he became the physical host for Devil Z, but on his own, he was Scorponok in a new upgraded (admittedly smaller, but still more powerful) form.

That's splitting hairs. Yeah, I meant Devil Z. It's been a few years since I've seen Masterforce, I remembered Black Zarak being the transtector for Devil Z. I didn't even remember that he was around before that. I guess it's time to watch Headmasters and Masterforce again.Sabrblade wrote:If by just "Zarak" you mean BlackZarak, then... Yeah, Devil Z's a ball of energy. BlackZarak was Scorponok in a new form from outer space, who came to Earth in the show long after Devil Z was already there.Rodimus Prime wrote:That's splitting hairs. Yeah, I meant Devil Z. Honestly, if they are going to do Black Zarak, I'd rather it be Leader or Commander class because I plan to pick up Scorponok, and prefer not to buy repaints of Titans.
Though, I will say, a Commander class Scorponok would be an instant buy just because he'd be tall, but not so tall that he can't really be with other Decepticons without dwarfing them. Especially because while the Titan Scorponok looks great, at that size, I feel it definitely represents Zarak+Scorponok, rather than just Scorponok

Such a smaller Scorpy would be in line with the Marvel comics. That would be the Scorpy who was the creator of the pretenders in the comicverse.

Still in a way we already have him with the G1 original.
I bet there will be an undersized KO of the ER Titan at the very least if some Chinese bootlegger is paying attention.

Glad to finally see Fasttrack's spear mode, it looks alright.
Cyclonus looks like he'll be neat.
After seeing confirmation that the production ER Megs will just be plain flat gray like the original SIEGE Megs... I'm back to wanting him cancelled and turned into RiD Bludgeon. IMO there is no redeeming value to him as a Megatron toy now.

I don't recall Roritchi ever being revealed, let alone hinted at (until it was announced that Fasttrack has a spear mode). When was this?

It was said in a leak a while back that we do have a G.I.Joe crossover figure coming sometime soon. At the time I said a Sky Lynx Defiant would be ideal, but now with Maverick revealed I'm leaning towards a Skystriker repaint, maybe named Ace (or probably Captain Ace). I hope Maverick turns out well because it has a lot of potential.
Totally had not heard that Joe news and have totally been on a Joe kick lately. Captain Ace, love that! Just don’t want them to have vehicles that turn into a robo Duke or CyberDestro it could go funky like the spindly oft-awkward Star Wars crossovers. Brrr, cringy.
Sky Lynx and the Defiant have zero in common other than the generic name of "space shuttle." And the Defiant was armed.

I saw an in stock notice on the Target site for Fargo, and while they were not on the shelves, a friendly employee conducted a search on his device and noted they were in stock in the back rooms, so he proceeded to snag one for me and bring it up front. They are absolutely fantastic, and a very welcome addition to my display. Happy hunting, and don’t be afraid to ask about the stock in the back rooms!

I found the seeker 2 pack on the shelf today (six of them actually) at a Target near me. But I actually had to have an employee show me because they weren't in the transformer aisle, instead they were on a transformers endcap that was all the way by the pre-school age toys like little tykes. I actually walked right by them twice without realizing it before flagging down a Target employee. So if you are out, make sure to check all the end caps for the whole toy section.
