Man, isn't it great the Amazon allows for up to 30 purchases of TF Exclusives under the same account? Man, if I had a nickle for all the times I needed 30 Ratchets, I'd have a lotta nickels! There's definitely no way this could backfire and open the door for heavy scalping.

I finally got hit with the dreaded Amazon delay myself on Ratchet today. I certainly hope I don't miss out on it even though I preordered the day the set went up.

What extra stuff? Like unnecessary crap that Shockwave and Astrotrain came with? Wasn't Galvatron big enough to be leader by himself? Sounds like it's going to be the TR figure all over again with a better head and useless junk in the box.

I don't think anyone knows exactly what the plan is for Galvatron. Even our "true" Leader sized ER figure Doubledealer wasn't that much taller than a voyager, because he's a wide boi and a quarter of his mass is in the rocket. Beast Megatron looks big in comparison to the voyager Primal but now we know Primal is on the short side for his class. (I don't know if we've seen Megatron compared to any figures we have access to.) Galvatron will probably be a similar size to those two, so make of that what you will.

I think the current rumor is that he's going to come with armor that homages Energon Galvatron.

Yeah, Galvy's the same size as Rodimus Prime and Optimus Prime (just like Optimus and Megs were equal). Most apparent in the "Arise Rodimus Prime" sequence, when Roddy picks him up and chucks his aft into the wild black yonder (all while Galvatron is reduced to pounding on Roddy like a tantrum-throwing child).

Galvatron in the cartoon is nowhere near as big relative to other characters as his G1 toy was to the other G1 toys. So, Voyager + extra stuff would be about right for him. Depending on how big they make it they might have wanted some of the Leader mass just for his particle cannon.

Given that rumor about Energon Megatron-based armor pieces, I think Kingdom Galvatron could well be a retooled TR Galvatron (because of the similar parts layout in jet mode).

On the subject of TR Galvatron, and more in line with this thread, I'd really like to see a pic of him with Earthrise Zarak as a head. Why? Well, given how Galvy and Zarak were left off at the end of "The Rebirth"...

TR Galvatron was a fun mold ruined by an abysmal design choice for Titan Master integration, not that the TM part was bad since it's faults lie on the crown.

Hasbro should of done something similar to how the leader class figures in that line handled it with the bigger faces with a flip down helmet..

The exclusives are one of the primary reasons I gave up collecting the WFC line. Its impossible to complete any sets, such as the seekers, without dipping into stupid amounts of money.

Especially over here in the UK for the seekers where they have made one exclusive a Target exclusive, and one of them a primarily Amazon.com exclusive. I've been fortunate enough to get all except Thrust as of yet, but after that I'm sticking to in-store purchases only for WFC and collecting Studio Series instead, that line doesn't seem to be tacking the mick (except Leadfoot but that was stocked to high heaven in all online UK stores.)

Where Amazon is concerned they don't charge you until it ships if you have Prime so if you need to cancel you're good. But with the Amazon exclusives I pre-order whichever ones I want the day the go up because there's a first-come-first-served aspect to it.

It's the lack of purchase limits on pre-orders. Even if you order within the first hour or so you can still lose out because a few people before ordered 30 of them to flip on eBay. I too ordered the morning it was released and have been delayed twice. I'm hoping that since it wasn't straight canceled they believe they will get more.

Allow me to join the chorus of "I got the Amazon delay notice for Ironhide/Prowl." What kills me is that I see a TON of sets on eBay going for big mark-ups. If I knew I was getting the notice today I would've jumped on whatever fan first event Hasbro was doing and complain. Can't have change without making a little noise. Now on the plus side when I've gotten these emails before in a day or two the item ships, so hopefully that happens. I did get the Medics set today but I'll be honest if I can't have Ironhide there's no reason for me to have Ratchet, and I'll probably ditch the other Earthrise Datsusns too.

I don't know if anybody did the math but 30 items at 40 bucks a piece is 1,200 dollars. I mean, you have to have the money to do that. Even if I wanted to resell one, I might be able to swing one extra. I certainly couldn't buy 30. Or even 3. Or most days, 2. Sometimes...even one.

I'm sure the scalpers that do this do it for a living. Take out a credit card, max it out, sell the items at triple the price, pay the card off, bask in the profit. Rinse and repeat.

Let's all complain to Hasbro about Amazon being a bad vendor, and demand a real release* of the figures. And anyone who says "It's just smart business" or "It's just supply and demand" or other bullshit like that can go jump in a smelting pool.


*Between the lack of anti-scalper measures, their dodgy search engine, and other bad practices... "Amazon Exclusive" no longer counts as a real release in my book.
