I'm The other way around. I have 6 or 7 Siege figures And almost the entirety of the ER line.o.supreme wrote:aronj wrote: I guess with that, Earthrise comes to a close...
A solid ending to a pretty good middle chapter. What's odd is despite the general superiority of the toys, I find myself having spent overall less money on ER than I did on Siege.
Agreed. And if Kingdom is any indication, I'll be spending far less on it, than I did on ER...I mean the toys are great, I guess the character choices just aren't necessary to my collection.

What about Deep Cover?

Technically part of Generations Selects.

Still part of War for Cybertron Trilogy. Though now I see someone on Tfwiki moved him from ER to Kingdom so I guess it's a moot point.

And, while I think ER Prime is better designed (and do have him), Henkei Prime has not been displaced in my heart. Again, vehicle mode and robot mode both win out for me. I think his vehicle mode works better with deluxe cars. Or near enough at least.

It'd be interesting for a car enthusiast to go through the CHUG series and give us a real good idea of what's in scale and what's really, really not in terms of the deluxe cars. Although if I had more proof that the deluxe cars I have are all just wildly off it'd bother me a lot, so maybe not, lol.

Vehicle mode scale was a bit more important back in the day for CHUG but Character scale has definitely taken priority.
Also, how big are Fairlady Zs, Are they actually smaller than a Beetle? I've never seen one in person so I always assumed they were somewhere on the larger end of cars.

i don't think they are. Years ago I had the chance to buy one from 1982 and I remember it being a decent sized car. Probably the size of a midsize sedan, Maybe a bit smaller. It's a sports car afterall. There's limited space inside, but from bumper to bumper, they hold their own.sol magnus wrote:Nuclearxpotato wrote:sol magnus wrote:I think Hasbro's scale doesn't go farther than the robot mode. They are freaking tiny.

Same thing with the other Minibots, and with Micromasters, Mini-Cons, Maximals, and Predacons. Small bots who don't size-change will turn into smaller-sized vehicles.

I don't have a problem with it. I'm just saying using vehicles as the scaling standard with throw things off.

This is where I'm at as well.
After the plentiful good (imo) from the ER and SS86 lines, I'm kind of betting that the next round of "G1" figures will include some sort of gimmick that will completely keep me away.
Obviously I could be wrong... But is Hastak really going to try and go "more G1" with the very next release of the seekers, datsuns, Sunstreaker, Grapple, etc., etc., etc.??'
Just seems really doubtful.
As is happening right now with the Kingdom line, I'll dip back into collecting whenever there's that couple figures I really like, but honestly, that could be 2 figures per year...
Is that still even collecting?
My hope, and maybe this is more of a wish, is that Hastak adds 1 or 2 figures every couple waves of the Generations line that is dedicated to animated character likeness, with essentially SS86 quality... But no 5mm ports all over the place, no gimmicks, and no extras that drive the costs up.
I know there's rumor of all 5 G1 Dinobots at leader class size...
This is probably my biggest want right now.
After that, G1 animation accurate Insecticons.
Blitzwing would be nice...
Reflector in a legit 3 pack...
Is this asking too much??

Reflector was done as a three-pack in toy accurate colors. It was going to be exclusive to Hascon 2 if it had happened.
