So is UM now Optimus' brother this time? Ala DW's take on the continuity?

If this is during the main civil war in Cybertron (pre Ark launch) so this UM could be the UM in the 1986 Movie sans "earth mode" trans scanning who will in turn be killed by 6shot (JP line) and be resurrected as the Legends UM with A-3?

Officially, I doubt its going to be linked to the g1 toon continuity, however if that's what you want to do with your collection then more power to you

For continuity's sake is all. If Sakamoto managed to weave all continuities into the Legends Universe, even explaining who the heck Devil Z was, Oracle etc. Hopefully, Takara can step up the plate and clear things up.

Well, with the multiverse remaining a concept within TF lore to this day it's clear that TF canon will always allow for variable interpretations. What is true to one universe doesn't need to be true in another and each universe generally is allowed to stand on it's own irrelevant of lore inconsistencies. Ultimately it's the nature of the beast that is TF lore that, even if one was to make one unified timeline it would ultimately itself just be yet another timeline rendered distinct by future additions. In other words, it's all canon somewhere in the multiverse. Even toy bios, technically speaking, exist within their own (barely glimpsed) continuities.

What is the likelihood that any part of this new trilogy will feature figures with combiner ports compatible with CW/POTP? I'm asking because I just rediscovered how much fun combiners are. To make space, I've started using various un-combined figures from those lines to make combiners (for example, Inferno with Jazz, Wheeljack, Mirage, and Prowl). I certainly wouldn't mind a few more options for torso/limbs.

The likelihood of that would only be if the line features characters who are specifically meant to be Combiners, like the Aerialbots, Stunticons, Combaticons, Protectobots, etc., as the gimmicks in this line are said to only be applied to characters who are supposed to have said gimmicks/who said gimmicks make sense for them to have. But seeing has how Hasbro just did a line and half for those Combiner-specific characters, and that most of them were historically created after the Transformers came to Earth (what with Siege intended to be a pre-Earthfall line) chances of seeing those characters in Siege are very unlikely.

Yeah she may share mold but she can't combine as the character was never part of a combiner.

For the pedantic: Siege does not reuse any molds or parts from any previous line (so far at least), everything is all new tooling. Rather, only their transformations are reused with some changes, which is what happened with:

Chromia, based on PotP Moonracer/Novastar
Ironhide, based TR Sergeant Kup

By contrast, the Micromasters Red Heat and Big Shot do share parts.

Ok, upon closer examination, scratch all that. For the record, Chromia and Mooracer do share parts... but they're not really significant:

- the hands
- the upper legs
- the wheels

It's the lack of major part reuse (like the chest) that has rendered Chromia standalone, which is a bit of a shame, but no big loss: Elita-Infin1te would have looked a bit monotonous with 4 of the same limb molds, even more than Superion and Menasor

... and realized it looks like his legs transform a lot like this guy's.

Where all four wheels end up on or in his calves, which split apart to form both the front and rear chassis of the vehicle. Red Alert's thighs also split in half (a truly interesting bit of engineering for the time), but it doesn't look like Hounds do that bit of transformation.

It will be cool to see how those calf and shin parts are able to spread out and span the length of the vehicle mode.

I disagree! I think the Moonracer/Firestar mold is one of the best limbs we have. They look great as arms or legs, but especially as arms! I wish we had a Greenlight and Lancer out of the same mold. Elita Infin1te would look fantastic that way, nice and symmetrical, but still varied in terms of colors like most other combiners. Right now, I have Elita Infin1te built with Moonracer and Firestar as the left and right arms and Bluestreak and Roller as the right and left legs. Not bad, but not ideal. When my Wreck-Gar comes in, he'll be replacing Roller.

People like to bitch how small and full of hollow parts modern Generations figures are but I had forgotten what chunky, bulky and kibble-loaded bricks Unicron trilogy figures were. Some of them haven't aged so well.

Sure. But Cybertron toys were built to be just that, big solid toys that rowdy little kids could smash and bash, and take any abuse that was thrown their way. Todays TFs, not so much. And as bulky as First Aid is, that butterflying leg split is a pretty sweet piece of transformation, and the rear wheels are hidden inside those big calves.

But, I was taking another look at Hound up there and noticed, the black bits between the Jeep fenders is what forms his foot. So now I'm thinking his legs transform just like TR Kups. Does that mean he and Ironhide share transformation?

I forget kids violently smash toys into one another. Being careful of my toys is why I've got most of my Beast Wars figure intact.

No. Ironhide's legs remain a solid chunk in both modes. Ironhide seems to reuse Kup's chest transformation however, while Hound takes cues from his legs.

No. Ironhide's legs remain a solid chunk in both modes. Ironhide seems to reuse Kup's chest transformation however, while Hound takes cues from his legs.

No clearly they are both Silverbolt remolds. :^)

Thanks to Dengeki Hobby magazine, and courtesy of fellow Seibertron user, Omegatron, we've got some brand new stock photos of Transformers War for Cybertron: Siege toys! Namely Fire-Drive, Lionizer, the micromasters Roadhandler and Swindler, Sideswipe, Autobot Cog, Voyager Optimus Prime and lastly, Leader Ultra Magnus. The pictures show the front and backs of most of the toys and we see a couple of different ways that Cog can interact with other figures. There is also several close ups, showing the battle damage paint effects. We've mirrored the images below for your convenience.





















































































Although these are showing off the Takara releases, because of the brand unification, these are the exact same as the Hasbro releases.
