As far as Siege is concerned though, it's all still to play for. Though I would be surprised if an Optimus or Megatron weren't part of the next line

I think having an Optimus and Megatron per line is a brand mantra. That would be a fun quiz or dive down the wiki, when was the last line that did not have both an Optimus Prime and Megatron?ZeroWolf wrote:As far as Siege is concerned though, it's all still to play for. My joking point is that it's rare, so I'd expect to see both in some form in WFC part 2. Do we count all size classes in this dumb question or just the "appropriate" size class?Ironhidensh wrote:Alternators had an Optimus Prime.william-james88 wrote:AOE and before then Alternatorscarytheone wrote:I think having an Optimus and Megatron per line is a brand mantra. If we do see more OPs and Megs in future WFC lines, can they really top the Siege versions? So maybe we won't see any additional ones, unless line evolves from G1 and they keep the homages coming.

Indeed. My concern is Hasbro's "Evergreen" ethos is slowly pushing Transformers into irrelevance. Creatively, through the mindless push of G1, it is verging on He-Man territory. It is 2019, make Transformers something NEW.
Actually the MOTU collectors club puts out amazing product. I guess if you want to argue that it isn't *relevant* because it isn't easily accessible to all, that might be a fair point. But when you try to appeal to the masses in an effort to be new and exciting, sometimes you get something like the Netflix She-Ra which, quite frankly, I'd rather have NOTHING than have that...

Hmm, let's see here... Tracking backwards in time:
Power of the Primes (no Megatron)
Robots in Disguise 2015 (No Megatron, and Megatronus is a different character)
Age of Extinction (no Megatron, sense a pattern to the one missing yet?)
Before Thrilling 30, I dunno.
On another note, I too would look forward to some Unicron Trilogy characters and designs getting to shine. Adds layers and creativity to the looks.

Author intent doesn't matter in cases where fiction is not a factor (since we're talking strictly about toyline rosters).ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:D-Maximal_Primal wrote:Autobot N wrote:Does Galvatron not count?D-Maximal_Primal wrote:Age of Extinction (no Megatron, sense a pattern to the one missing yet?)

Regardless of bio identity, a toy named "Galvatron" is a Galvatron toy, not a Megatron toy.

Also we were promised Beast Wars coming to War For Cybertron so I'm also doubtful they'd keep the line actually on Cybertron. But Beast Machines was also a "war for Cybertron" so maybe that's where we're headed.

Yes, they specifically said that they're going to prove that they're Beast Wars and Unicron Trilogy fan with War For Cybertron.
Start at 11:02 for about a minute. They're calling the trilogy an "extended universe" so don't expect it to just take place on Cybertron with G1 characters all the way through.
