We knew it was coming, and we know repaint are a fact of life, but it is still such a massive let down and disappointment to see.

My kids have been asking for, and I've gotten them most of siege, but Barricade will be one I refuse to pay money for on general principal.

Barricade is kinda disappointing. I was hoping for something closer to his Movie or Evergreen face, but instead we get a repaint of the lamest of the heads from the Datsum bros. That Smokescreen head isn't my favorite, and I so wish they had gone a different path for his head.

A case of when expectation meets reality, more likely. Barricade maybe a Police Car, hence Prowl comparisons. But I think even when first announced the expectation was for more than just Black Prowl. The fandom ate up mere palette swaps back in the 80's. More is expected now.

You don't need to do much to make a Palette Swap stand out, but a little effort is better than none.

I expected a completely different head. Something unique and EVIL looking. But here, it's just lazy. As for the Prowl body, why not? That was expected. But that head ruin it. 3P upgrade kits to the rescue!

Omegas art doesnt even resemble the toy, the toys faction symbol is too low down among other things.

You're looking at the wrong art. He was talking about the art on the box seen behind the Titan class toy in the first pic. He posted the second image because he said that the box art reminded him of the old WFC video game Omega from 2010.

If you want him to be the movie incarnation then buy the studio series one or one of the other iterations of movie Barricade. This isn't movie Barricade this is a generations take on the character. If the accepted excuse for the movie designs is "it's a new take on the character" then why isn't that okay here?

I wish they'd stop with the Micromaster 'weapon' modes. They all look garbage. The figures themselves are ok and it's cool seeing the Off-Road patrol appearing cos those were the main ones I had as a kid (along with the Air Strike Patrol)

Would have expected a new head for that 'Barricade'. The colour scheme is cool cos you can't go too wrong with mostly black with some white and purple. But yeah it just looks like Night-Prowl rather than Barricade.

Because there's already an Evergreen design that fits the bill for a Generations Barricade. It'd be like making Star Saber, but as a pre-tool for Brainstorm. Sure, you can say it's a new take on the character, but there's still gonna be disappointment from a large amount of people, just like how a lot of people are still disappointed in how the movies portray the characters, despite them being new takes on the characters

I'm still kinda confused whether purple exists on movie Barricade at all. Some figures have purple (2007 Deluxe, the Human Alliance, Robot Replica, DotM Deluxe), but MPM has bright blue and Studio Series has just black in those places. Some renders of the cgi model show a more subtle dark blue/purple that's almost as black as the rest of him while others have it a more stronger blue

As for that Siege Barricade, it's just another in a long line of Autobots and Decepticons sharing the same body and face. Something I really hate in Transformers as it makes no sense for them to do so without a specific reason.

I got excited then as I liked that mold (Prowl from Prime Smokescreen) then realised it was a club exclusive.

I'll just be over here alone on my little island being not surprised at all by this reveal and playing fun adventure battles with my toys. Actually I'm elated that this is proof of a Smokescreen. With that glimpse of the 35th Anni Blustreak, I will be happy to complete the Bros.

As for Barricade, I'm fine with this one. Those cool Con-y colors remind me of another one of my favorite repaint/faction swap.



I also hope that cool looking Drivetrain has knees!

2 things I really like
1) the colora
2)the Acxessory Guns.

But I am not sure he weara the mold well as Barricade. Something does feel off. And while I like the car mode, and its more police car like, I'm not sure I like it more than the TFSS BAarricade

I loved that TFSS figure look, never got it, but it looks so cool. I love that head. I wish that was the head the new Barricade has used for a model. I wish it was not a typical Datsun head!
