Rescue bots had this for the most part. With a Griffin duobot, a Yeti bot, and loads of dragons.
Skritz wrote:So, going back more on topic: given Hasbro tend to design molds for retools from day one nowadays any ideas who these Voyagers could be reused as? Obviously Soundwave ain't getting much use unless they do a Blaster retool (too obvious?) and Starscream will be getting recolored into the seeker rainbow. That leaves Optimus and Megatron. Will they simply get recolors or will these molds be retooled into someone else? Or are there more Voyagers mold we haven't seen?
Depending how you count and if you count massive reshell (Hot Spot and Onslaught being a good example of a shared skeleton on an otherwise very different figure) as a distinct mold, Combiner Wars had between 4-6 Voyager molds and Titans Return had around 5-6. So my guess is Siege has at least two more molds which are either heavy retools or brand new.

The CW and PotP Optimus molds have an alternate Prime head that were used for Toxitron and Nemesis Prime, so "clones" promoting from redeco to co-tool status is something to take note of. And Megatron can be retooled into any large Decepticon with a tank mode, which are a dime a dozen.
Springer has been listed, same Wave as Thundercracker, so already we have one redeco incoming.

Well, looking at the Siege Optimus I think all he'd need is new front/torso to not look completely like Optimus Prime. However I am unsure which other Transformers could make use of that altmode, as it seems a little too early to see Motormaster again right after Combiner Wars and Magnus has his own unique tooling. Megatron could end up as Quake or Bludgeon I suppose.
That said it is worth noting the only 'evil version' of a character we got as a mass retail product during the Prime Wars is Rodimus Unicronus so I don't really expect to see Nemesis Prime show up in any mass retail waves. It IS possible some of these characters simply get a new version of themselves with a different deco but part of me find this a bit unlikely given Siege's pandering to G1 cartoon.
Sentinel_Primal wrote:I just had a thought. Given this line's focus on weapon upgrades, especially with the leader class figures, what do you think the odds are of us getting a new Jetfire in this line? I doubt they would cause he'd have to be a decently large leader class figure to scale correctly, but I think it would be cool to see how they handle him and his weapon pack

Weaponizer Jetfire! Now that would be something to behold but, alas, unlikely.

Nemesis Primal wrote:The interesting thing regarding that Megatron mold and potential retools is that no matter who they retool it as, if anyone, the retooled figure is either going to have to have a completely differently tooled tank turret, or will forced to have the same weapons/accessories as Megatron due to the fact that his weapons combine as part of the transformation to form the actual tank cannon. Given the emphasis they've put on the weapon combining and all the weapons having names and such, I feel like it would be weird and kinda cheap for someone like Bludgeon to also be stuck with Megatron's sword and fusion cannon. Is there anyone they could really make accurately from the mold by doing that?

Though a Deluxe would be more appropriate size-wise, This new Voyager Megatron has the most ideal design from which to have a decent figure of Emirate Xaaron finally be made.ThunderThruster wrote:Nemesis Primal wrote:The interesting thing regarding that Megatron mold and potential retools is that no matter who they retool it as, if anyone, the retooled figure is either going to have to have a completely differently tooled tank turret, or will forced to have the same weapons/accessories as Megatron due to the fact that his weapons combine as part of the transformation to form the actual tank cannon. The only one that comes to mind would be Tarn, but I highly doubt Hasbrro will do that.
